@thenewaveragebear1983 I went online to get myself a kettle bell and was Shock at the price of them!
Hold off on the kettlebells - the price of them skyrocketed after lockdown due to demand

Justasecondnow · 30/06/2020 19:24

I really should do more weights based exercise.. I used to do pilates but only done twice since lockdown... Something to work on!

Today’s effort food wise:
Tuna nicoise
Chicken salad
Sugar free jelly
Milk in tea

Cals 900, carbs... hmm only had salad veg... a tomato, a carrot, red onion, salad leaves... can’t be much in that right!? Just too lazy to google all the values. Under 50 I reckon.

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 30/06/2020 19:44

@justasecondnow - Ideally would like to be around 9stone, but not sure being on such low calories is sustainable for me long term. I like the idea of intermittent fasting which I think will be the way forward for me, but will continue until I get around 9 st 5lbs.

Had a cauliflower tandoori this evening which I made and also made a prawn korma for the children. When DH came home was upstairs talking to my mother (in California who talks a lot!) and when I came back, he thought the cauliflower was for him so it was gone. Grr.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/06/2020 19:58

Closing up the kitchen on 1276 cals, 33g carbs, 18k steps (run, walk in the park, and about to do yoga!)

Food was yummy; I was so hungry at dinner time I had to really make myself not just inhale my food but slooooow down. To be honest I feel quite peckish now still, which is the first time really since Friday. That gnawing hunger. I am due on tomorrow though and I cannot remember the last time I had no pmt or mad choc cravings or anything at this totm.

I've signed up for some virtual running events today: a 7 runs in 7 days, a 40 runs for the great north run 40th anniversary, and a half marathon which I would like to complete next week. (That one could he interesting on very low carbs! Might need a day off for that!), plus a months subscription to outdoor fitness classes! Think I'll be aching in August!

I’m closing kitchen on 900 cals - I added half a salmon fillet to my dinner soup.
Breakfast - two eggs and spinach
Lunch - halloumi, asparagus, tomatoes and lettuce
Dinner - sweet potato and lentil soup with 50g salmon
I also had a square of dark chocolate and handful of blueberries.
All recipes from the book.
HIIT workout and 17000 steps. Knackered! Haven’t felt hungry at all, and really like the 16:8 / 14:10 way of eating.

MozzchopsThirty · 30/06/2020 20:18

I am also trying to slow down when eating!!! I am a pig when eating

Closed at 703 today with 30% carbs which seems loads seeing as I had last nights leftovers for lunch then curry & broccoli for dinner

I managed to do a 45 min body pump too 👍🏻

3rd day is when I crack so will need some words of encouragement tomorrow

Bestbees · 30/06/2020 20:26

Sounds like everyone has had a good day. Good here too except that the tempeh was gross at lunch. As a result I am finishing closer to 750 but feel good. Did a run and a bike ride with the kids and now sipping on lemon and hot water. I am seeing my family on the 11th (first time since beginning of march!!) And really want to get to 9.10 so this is a good incentive. I have about 4lb so think it is do able if I am good over the weekend. Will have one boozy treat meal but the rest on track.

Has anyone read any of gin Stephens books? I have been listening to her on some podcasts which help keep me focused.

MozzchopsThirty · 30/06/2020 20:54

I'm currently 9st 12 and want to be 9st.
But I'm up and down, really need to stick to it with maybe one day on the weekend of naughtiness

Kimlek · 30/06/2020 20:55

Closed kitchen at 7pm on 807cals and 42 carbs. Had a drop of amaretto which although only 100 cals doubled my carbs. Was blooming lovely though. Managed 13,000 steps despite the rain. Had a trip to Aldi and found some black bean spaghetti and a 6kg kettlebell weight for £8! Thanks for the tip bear!! 6kg will be fine for me as I do zero weights at the moment.

Kimlek · 30/06/2020 21:06

@ilovemydogandmrobama2 oooh can we have your cauli tandoori recipe please? I’ve got a chicken tikka in the freezer and a spicy cauli would be a yummy accompaniment. Please x

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/07/2020 06:33

10.7.2 today so that's another (almost) 1lb off.

OP posts:
Plancina · 01/07/2020 07:07

65.5kg today - delighted! Seem to be losing 0.5kg per day, I was 67kg on Sunday. I didn’t sleep well last night so it will be an extra challenge to stay off the salty snacks today. Going for a walk this morning, planning to delay breakfast (quinoa blueberry thing from fast800 website) until as close to 12 as possible.
Lunch - leftover lentil and sweet potato soup
Dinner - lemon and coriander chicken with courgettes, mashed cauliflower and cavolo Nero

Kimlek · 01/07/2020 07:14

10.4.6 this morning. Checked several times as that’s 1.5lbs down. My visceral fat is now low but subcutaneous and general body fat is still high with skeletal muscle low. According to fancy scales. I think this means that I need those hiit workouts. So although I’m looking quite slim and size 12/14 there’s a need to continue. I’d like my body fat to be 25% (Green zone) rather than the 31% (red zone).
Ill not have time to find a hiit today but I do need to do this and stop putting it off!! I’ll do a 6k brisk dog walk this afternoon then play tennis. Surprising I don’t do many steps in tennis according to fit bit. I’ll probs have a salad for lunch then Mediterranean chicken with courgetti for dinner. No booze!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/07/2020 07:25

@Kimlek well done. I guess the beauty of hiit is that you can do it quickly, do you have a workout in mind? The other thing you can do is incorporate intervals into your walk (dog dependent of course!) so do brisk for 1min, slower for 1 min. Intervals are more effective at fat burning even if you cover the sane distance overall, and even if your overall time is longer. (Bodies are weird, no?)

@Plancina well done! That initial steady weight dropping is so motivating isn't it?

Have a great day all!

Thanks bear I tend to walk with a friend so I’m a little governed by their speed too. Today’s friends walk at a good pace but she’s think I’d lost the plot if we went fast then slow. I’ve looked at Emi Wong’s just not done them!
Here’s my stats...

Blood sugar diet and fast800 thread 20
thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/07/2020 07:55

@Kimlek yes I'd imagine that would raise a few eyebrows!! These stats are from your scales to an app? I know I've asked he gore but remind me what these scales are please?

verybritishproblems · 01/07/2020 07:58

I tried this for a day and felt sick and light headed, my blood sugar really crashed. What was I doing wrong? I avoided all sugar including fruit, maybe that was it? Sad

Bestbees · 01/07/2020 08:00

Another 1lb off! So much positivity here at the moment! This puts me at 10.0.5 so nearly back to the coveted 9s!

Plan today: ramen and prawns for lunch
Dinner Vege sausages and mustard cabbage for tea followed by almonds berries and yog.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 01/07/2020 08:06

Hi all, please may I join. I'm 53, 5'4" and currently 14 st 6 which is way too heavy although I've been heavier. I can just squeeze into an 18 in trousers. I was doing SW prelockdown and got down to 14st but like many put weight on over the past few months. The hot days last week really brought it home to me as I can hardly fit in any of my summer clothes and felt like such a blob. I'm not fussed about being skinny at my age, just want to be easily able to wear a standard size 16, maybe a 14, lose my belly fat, and ease my achy ankles. I'm low carbing and doing 16:8 this week then going to focus on calories from next week. So far so good. Still hungry but managing.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 01/07/2020 08:12

Morning all. I've been doing Fast800 for the last month and I lost 1stone. Its my 3rd stone in total (was doing SW/CC previously)

I don't expect the next stone to be so easy so I'm going to give myself a target of 8/9weeks for this one. Basically before we go back to school in Sept.

Hope everyone is ok. Happy July!

ilovemydogandMrObama · 01/07/2020 08:17

@Kimlek - Tandoori Cauliflower - Head of Cauliflower cut length wise into cutlets, about 1.5 tablespoons of Tikka Paste (about 81 cals) tossed into bowl with cauliflower and cook quite hot. I add a bit of chopped fresh chilli and coriander.

@verybritishproblems - If you felt sick and light headed, please please slow down.

Weighed in this morning at 9st 11 lbs - Amazing as I had a glass of wine last night. But am going to aim to have an evening meal - Harrissa tofu and lemon broccoli salad.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 01/07/2020 08:19

Welcome Tinky Winky!

Kimlek · 01/07/2020 08:28

@thenewaveragebear1983 they are renpho scales £30 amazon. The scales themselves just do weight in lbs, kg etc but the app gives all this other information.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/07/2020 08:49

@Kimlek thanks. I'm going to get some I think. I like the stats!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa @tinkywinkyshandbag @verybritishproblems welcome all!

@verybritishproblems if you felt very light headed then it could be that you were dehydrated or low in salt, or just simply not used to such a dramatic drop in calories. Or could you have been in ketosis? I find I feel quite woozy in ketosis and it's not entirely enjoyable.

Morning all - would love to join you with this. I'm getting married again (at the age of 57 😱) in December and need to get rid of 3 stone or thereabouts. I've tried every variation of every diet going and need something sustainable for long term. I lose some, gain some and I don't think HRT helps either (although I've tried being on it and off it!). I'm considering sighing up for the 12 week online plan - can anyone tell me if it's worth it?

Also, am taking up cycling... when on cycling forums everyone goes on about having to "carb up" before you go out (we're talking 1-2 hours) and that's the last thing I want to do. Any Fast800/cyclers who can give an opinion on this?

Apologies for the long post! Smile
