Hi Plancina, can I be your Fast 800 buddy, I’m also 5.2 and weigh 65 so we are pretty similar. I’ve slowly been putting weight on over the last year and have really drank way way too much wine lately. I’m really excited to start this and as we are out for a meal tonight I’ve already said I will drive and I’m planning on having a boiled egg around 2pm and nothing apart from water till the meal. Then make a healthy choice at the restaurant. Don’t eat puddings as I don’t have a sweet tooth but will have to refuse cheese and biscuits.
I’d love to help you get to your target weight for your wedding.

nibdedibble · 01/08/2020 14:36

Hello everyone, I was on the last thread (ages ago!) but I’ve been trying to cut my online time right back! I then managed not to stick to it, got a bit fatter, but...recently I re-read the Moseley book, ordered a blood glucose meter, and gulp, my fasting blood glucose is 7.2. Which is diabetic, just. I don’t have symptoms I can feel so I would never have known.

So I’m back on it and extremely motivated! I’ve combined Fast800 with 16:8 (which I find fits in well) and though it’s only been a week, I’m half a stone lighter. Still BMI 32.6 though. A fair way to go. Not testing blood glucose till Monday and am interested to see if it’s come down a bit at all.

Cons: quite weak-feeling, I guess to be expected. And I have concerns about nutrients. Tracking on MFP, I’m definitely not getting enough calcium and iron. I’m supplementing, and making an effort to eat a bit of Greek yogurt daily.

Pros: weight loss (not enough yet to feel) is motivating and that leads me to better exercise habits, a conscious effort to drink more. My head is quite clear too, that’s great!

I’m also (!) doing WW and constantly 😱 at the plates of high carb foods that people eat! No judgement, if it works then fab, that is the whole point, but I feel a strange horror!

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/08/2020 15:15

Hi everyone ✋✋✋

I’m still going, I’m still in the rabbit warren of low carb podcasts 🤣🤣. Honestly I’m obsessed, I just find the concept so fascinating. I suspect t it’s because I have a long term chronic condition and so I’ve always been interesting in finding out about things that might help my condition and have dabbled with nutrition frequently over 15 years.

I was interested in the last guest the low carb docs had on, Dr Jay Wrigley. He deals with a lot of women who struggle to lose weight due to hormones. The most obvious is my age group, 40’s and onwards whose bodies just don’t want to give up the fat whilst their husbands just drop the weight instantly. He said he had the most success with higher protein, moderate fat, low carb ie. you can’t go mad with the fat abs act like calories don’t exist. He also says fasting is key. Lots of women (me included in the past) tend to graze on small bit of food all day long. Disastrous for weight loss. So we need a good chunk of time fasting each day to trigger autophagy. They also found that stalls were more common and you just had to keep on and eventually the body gets with the program.

It really helped me deal with my tiny, tiny scale victories and also secured my suspicion that the scale wobble last week was too much cheese.

justanotherneighinparadise · 01/08/2020 15:17

Oh and BMI now 24.9. So healthy again!! 👊

NibbleQueen · 01/08/2020 22:35

Howdy folks
Back from a week away where I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Tomorrow will be my first day on plan proper due to carb failures in prior weeks. The plan for the next 2 weeks at least is just lean proteins and veg, with the odd bit of greek yog and berries thrown in.

Tomorrow am planning on having smoked trout omlette + salad for lunch, dinner of veal meatballs in tom sauce probably with salad again. Will try to get an hour's cycle in too.

Not looking forward to weighing myself after a week of wine and chips...

nibdedibble · 02/08/2020 08:45

@justanotherneighinparadise Woman in my 40s here too...it is a bit 😬 isn’t it, to be in the problem group. I’m sad to have lost that ‘I diet and I lose weight’ feeling, it’s such an uphill struggle now! Oh well....At least doing this is a benefit for later life as well (I hope!!). And going back to how we used to eat when I was a child, I think: far far less food. My problem is I’m time rich and have money to spend on nice food. So it’s about using my time better and using less money to feed my face 😁

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/08/2020 09:05

Oh we are definitely the problem group, that’s for sure. They mention pre and post menopausal women constantly.

Patchworksack · 02/08/2020 09:19

Hi everyone, may I join you? My DH was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about a month ago and we are following a low carb healthy fats diet to try and get the diabetes into remission, with about 1000 calories and

Patchworksack · 02/08/2020 09:23

@justanotherneighinparadise I'm 45. So annoying how slow progress is! I guess DH being T2 means, we have to be in this for the long haul.

Justasecondnow · 02/08/2020 11:14

Hello all, weighed in on Friday and stayed the same 9.12. Feel I’ve been there forever! Had BBQ yesterday and had a sod it moment. Ate a lot! Feeling a bit fed up with it all but this thread has motivated me to get back on it for last two weeks and also to really really plan maintenance. I think that’s going to be really tricky for me as I’m so all or nothing.

Going to ignore leftover BBQ food and have something egg based for lunch and skinny cottage pie from fat book for lunch. Must fit in a run too. Good luck everyone.

justanotherneighinparadise · 02/08/2020 12:05

I’m trying to remember what else he said. I think he talked about protein cycling for stalls. The main problem blocking the weight loss seems to be hormones, alongside less natural muscle mass.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 02/08/2020 15:06

Hello all!

I managed to meet my target of 7lbs in July, which I'm chuffed about.

I'm aiming for another 7lbs by Aug 27th, that'll be 4stone lost in 14months (2 lost in 3 months using Fast800).

Today:
TRE - 18/6
Food - beef stir fry, turkey and veg
Exercise - body project cardio, BodyPump 113, 22km cycle.

I'm feeling really good at the minute, enjoying eating well and enjoying exercising.

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 02/08/2020 15:19

hello!

Back from holiday having gone completely off piste.

Weighed myself and was exactly the same Hmm 9 st 9lbs. But then again, did do a considerable amount of walking.

Want to start plan again tomorrow - goal is 8 st 5lbs at some stage in the not too distant future.

collywobble · 02/08/2020 18:48

Hi everyone, I have been ambling along quite nicely recently with my usual slow but steady losses and a very much reduced appetite but today , crash bang wallop I have fallen off the wagon and snacked and grazed all day long it's been a carb fest . I haven't had one meal it's just been me walking to the kitchen , rummaging for , bread, cheese , walnuts and yoghurt , ham more cheese . I've been on a loop of just feeling the need to snack and have a treat . Not a good weekend. I think it's because everyone is out of the house and I can be naughty without them seeing me . I'm also heading for the time of the month so that could be why . I seriously hope I haven't undone my hard work but I'm saddened to see that snacky person coming back with a vengeance. Drawing a line now and having a bath just so I don't eat anything else .

NibbleQueen · 02/08/2020 20:05

Managed to stick mostly to my plan for the day!

L: hot smoked trout omlette and spinach
D: meatballs in tomato sauce and green salad, about 30g of chocolate
S: slice of smoked salmon, few strawberries

Cycled for an hour and walked the puppy very slowly for about 20 mins

I'm a little bit bunged up after subsisting on crisps, chips and biscuits for a few days prior so I kind of want to wait until after I've evacuated before weighing myself! Grin

nibdedibble · 03/08/2020 06:03

Feeling really good. I’m 8.4 lbs down in a week. TRE 16:8 and trying very very hard to stick to 800 cals a day, usually a bit over. 2 to 3l water a day. Starchiest food this week was one thick slice of home-baked whole meal bread, some botlotti beans and some lentils. Increased strength exercise plus a load of hilly walking. No alcohol except for last night in the garden, a dry martini that turned into 3 😖 Need to nix the thought that ‘these warm summer nights won’t go on for much longer’...

Anyway I’m really motivated! I know this week coming cannot deliver 8lbs off but would be really happy with 3.

NibbleQueen · 03/08/2020 07:38

Morning all!
9st12 today and feeling optimistic about getting down to 9st7 by the end of August.
Planning to subsist off vegetable and fishmonger boxes for the next 2 weeks at least and most importantly NO WINE Shock

Exercise routine has taken a hit as we're moving so my workout area has been replaced with boxes, but will hopefully manage extra bike rides and a bit of weights.

Have a good week all!

nibdedibble · 03/08/2020 16:25

So two things have gone wrong today. One is that I’ve wrenched my back and that means I can’t get steps in, let alone exercise.

The second is that I’m knackered. Is anyone else feeling this? I’m at the end of my energy supply, it feels like. Partly I need to drink (am doing so) but what else? I’ve just had a couple of oatcakes in the Hope I’ll get some sort of a boost to make it to dinner time!

Postmanbear · 03/08/2020 18:27

I’m back after a two week holiday. I tried hard to be good on holiday but it was a carb fest and I drunk some alcohol most days. So 4 pounds back on of the 9 I lost originally.

Today I have had eggs, cheese and salmon, chicken Kiev and veg, two hotel chocolates and 5 cups of tea. 1083 and 42g of carbs. High on calories but good on carbs.

outwest · 03/08/2020 20:23

"The second is that I’m knackered."
Maybe exercise less, see if that helps?

NibbleQueen · 03/08/2020 21:01

Reporting in for the day at 1000 calories
L: huuuuuge nicoise salad (with radishes instead of potatoes)
D: chicken kiev, broccoli, spinach; choccy
S: blueberries and greek yoghurt; celery sticks and ham
Only about 30 mins walking

All in all mostly stuck to the plan

outwest · 03/08/2020 21:20

Closing the kitchen at 845 today, but did yoga in the morning and a long hill walk in the afternoon, so not concerned about 45 kcals.

B: Black coffee - 2 kcal
L: Omelette with peppered mackerel, dill and peas - 254
Snack: 1 apple - 71
D: Pork steaks with mustard (have it every week) - 290
60g of cheese - 228

Blood sugar diet and fast800 thread 20
NibbleQueen · 04/08/2020 07:33

Weighing in at 9st12. 6 (half a pound gain)

Plan for today:
L: nicoise salad again
S: greek yog & blueberries
D: chicken supreme with cauliflower steaks and romesco sauce, strawberries

Will try to get a bike ride in and possibly HIIT if I find space at home. Plus steering clear of chocolate today.

justanotherneighinparadise · 04/08/2020 07:52

Feeling really good today 👍. Fasted from just after midday yesterday and will eat this morning. Having listened to so much evidence about low carb eating I could see the magic bullet really is the fasting alongside the low carb. So I’ll going to carry on with two meals and 18 hour fasts and see if the scales start moving again.

Dinnerfor1 · 04/08/2020 09:43

2.2lb off for me this week, so now lost 3 stone 12lb in total. Weight loss has really slowed down for me but I haven’t been counting calories as carefully recently so I may have to start tracking again.

Today having a goats cheese salad for lunch and then beef chilli fry with salad for dinner using left over roast beef.

I bought a couple of dresses for returning to work in September, thought I’d bought them a size smaller with the aim to fitting in them by autumn, but they fit already which is a nice NSV.
