Walked to and from the pub, 21,000 steps today. Had hummus and wholemeal pitta then steak and salad w coleslaw and a few of DPs chips. Two small glasses of red. No pudding despite three attempts by DP 😁 feeling good!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/07/2020 21:22

Well played @Plancina , I hope you feel you've met this with the perfect balance of enjoyed yourself and kept your head in the game. Well done 👍 Star

Yes well done @Plancina I’ve not been so good. We headed to the beach yesterday. Geez it was windy!! The takeaway didn’t have any of the okay ish options. Choices were pizza or fish and chips. I took most of the batter off, ate the fish and a few if the chips. Had skipped bfast so hungry but didn’t enjoy it. Chicken tikka with cauli rice for dinner. No booze. Today was even worse!! Leftover chicken tikka for lunch and bulked with kale. Watched a movie with youngest DD and ended up scoffing heaven knows how many pecans and half a large bar of 85% chocolate. So I’d had around 1000 calories by 3pm. To be fair I wasn’t hungry at dinner time so skipped it but joined DH in a glass of red 🙄. The first 2 sips were lovely but after that... I’m now feeling huge and bloated and sickly. Not a great couple of days.

mswibblewobble · 05/07/2020 01:30

Well still going well. Was feeling hungry at lunch but needed to pop to town first, ended up being out longer than expected so fast ended up being 22hrs!
Compensated by filling my plate as was starving! 2 chilli pork belly strips, aubergine, kale, asparagus, courgette, broccoli, samphire and cauliflower rice. Seem to be adding quark to every meal as a condiment sauce but low carb and calorie so can get away with it!

Day 4 and not particularly feeling any slimmer. Have been thirsty and had bad breath so assuming I am going into keto!

Bestbees · 05/07/2020 07:47

Weekends are so much harder! Ended up eating a piece of toast last night. Was bloody delicious. 1lb up from Friday morning which is ok, hopefully will avoid slips today.
Plan today:
Lunch: soup/salad depending if we are out or in.
Dinner: cod with chorizo and sun-dried toms and green veg. Yog and berries.

Kimlek · 05/07/2020 08:43

10.3.6 this morning - that’s 11lbs down in 6/7 weeks. Smile BMI now 23%. But still going as percentage body fat still high at 32%. Needs to be 25%. And my skeletal muscle is low at 39% should be around 45%. Albeit muscle has increased despite me only walking for exercise. When you get your scales @thenewaveragebear1983 I’d love to know these stats if you’d be happy sharing.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/07/2020 08:59

@Kimlek I did an online calculator where you add measurements from around the body and it suggested my fat% was 26%, but not sure how accurate that could possibly be?? I would be interested too as I feel like I've got a high bone density as well (as in, have always felt 'heavy boned' even when very slim)

Had a terrible nights sleep last night. Awful. Don't feel too bad this morning but expecting to be tired later.

Oh god I just inhaled freshly baked bread with lots of butter! Why!!!!

Plancina · 05/07/2020 11:30

@kimlek the weird thing is my PT said my body fat was likely to be 28% based on waist and neck measurement compared with height but the scales I got this week say it’s 35%! I hope they’re wrong.
I am fasting until 12 today then having poached egg with wild salmon and spinach. Can’t wait!
I’m pleased to report I haven’t gained weight even from salt/water after last night, I haven’t lost any either but that would be too much to hope forGrin

Kimlek · 05/07/2020 12:11

@Plancina do your scales know you’re female? I think you said you were 65kg which is similar to me. I’m 5’6 but have zero boobs! Maybe your scales are taking in decent sized boobs, making body fat higher than it is. Mine measure visceral & subcutaneous fat too and it’s these measurements I’m most interested in. The visceral is way down but sub cut 29% and I’d like it lower. I also need to increase my skeletal muscle. I think hiit, weights etc would help with this but I’m lacking motivation. Hate exercise!

Kimlek · 05/07/2020 12:14

Oh if your PT uses callipers, clever scales etc etc then I’d have thought all those things combined will be pretty accurate.
I’m a bit gutted that my bra cups are now empty ☹️

Itshotoday · 05/07/2020 16:10

Best bees dangerous but sometimes good to get the craving out of the system.

Just jumping in I am 30% body fat, just under stone, have lost weight but body fat has increased - I do not know how the weight loss has happened. I think drinking a load of water can affect the % too!

I also think callipers are pretty good but can vary on the user and don’t always give a true indication - I gain a layer around my stomach and derrière at the time of the month.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/07/2020 16:28

@Kimlek lol mine too. I can count my ribs through my chest. To be fair, that's a lifelong thing, except for two days after giving birth each time. They quickly returned to zero! And in a cruel twist of nature, if I use the 'boob or bust' measurements calculator often cited in MN I am actually a 30D, or even DD which is impossible but true.

I've spent a nice few hours making a few bits for the week: a Stilton and walnut keto loaf, a nice Waldorf salad and a keto Mascarpone ice cream thing with raspberries from my garden to have as a little pudding. Cooked a chicken for tomorrow's tea and tonight's beef is slow cooking.

Bestbees · 05/07/2020 16:39

Taking a deep breath and have been focused for the rest of the day. I know why I ate it, it's because the kids were annoying me! I need another strategy for that.

I have no idea what my body fat it but imagine it is high! I have reasonable boobs. Much more apple shape. I get a small bum when I lose weight and often find trousers too loose around the upper thigh so I know my weight is all in the bad places. I am probably meant to be skinny! I have size 4.5 feet and can touch my first finger and thumb around my wrists so fairly small framed I think.

I felt better about my bread incident when I thought about the fact that even if I only manage 2 days a week on 800 I am technically doing 5:2 and therefore still better than nothing.

Looking forward to dinner as trying out frozen cod which I have never used before. Hoping it is good as it is an easy option.

Kimlek · 05/07/2020 20:19

Had crab salad for lunch & salmon fillet with salad for dinner. Both with a yoghurt dressing. A few handfuls of pecans. Closing kitchen at 910 and 30 carbs.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/07/2020 20:43

I've ended up going a bit over on cals today, just had a piece of cheese and a few nibbles from the fridge, bumping me up from an already over 1500, to an even more over 1700 for the day. Still, not terrible on carbs, and still under tdee. I had such a rotten nights sleep and I think that's made this afternoon tricky as I'm so exhausted. On a positive note though, still no sugar and no bread etc, my insatiable carb cravings have certainly subsided. I have certainly found I have been hungrier while actually on my period than in the run up, which I was expecting, although I know that the week immediately after is usually a good week for Weight loss.

I'm planned for tomorrow now and I'm all set, ready to go. I cannot wait for tomorrow morning, bootcamp returns!

I'm feeling optimistic about the week ahead, and after having a slightly more relaxed weekend I am now ready to tighten the reins a little and go back to being strict for the week.

We had an 800 cal day, used recipes from the fast800 online plan. Did a 7km walk and a yoga video, planning to try and do yoga 3 times a week to stretch out my muscles and build strength.
Tomorrow’s food:
Breakfast: Greek yoghurt, rhubarb
Lunch: beetroot and goats cheese salad w fake chicken
Dinner: prawn, mushroom and spinach curry with cauli rice

Bestbees · 06/07/2020 07:59

Your meals sound lovely @Plancina do you think the online membership is worth it?

@thenewaveragebear1983 you are doing so well to kick the carb monster

I am up from Friday but down from last Monday so please overall. Seeing it as a slow steady trend. Think my target of 9.10 is optimistic for Friday as that would be dropping 4lb. But I do often have a big drop on Monday so who knows. I saw 9 12 on Friday, so would love to see 9 11 this week.

Food planned for today:
Lentil and feta salad
Roast turkey with roast cauli. Berries and yog.

Kimlek · 06/07/2020 08:16

A little half pound off today. 10.3.2
I need to meal plan today for the rest of the week. Getting a bit bored of doing the same things.
Also need to think what we can do for the next 9 weeks of summer holidays. They officially started on Thursday. I’m already bored.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/07/2020 08:39

A maintain over the weekend for me, but I'll take that as I did go over. Since deciding to lose 1 stone before my holiday, I'm now 6lbs down with 5 weeks to go!

Few things on this week: running a virtual half marathon on Wednesday so oddly that might actually derail me slightly as I will need some carbs, although I have bought some sweet potato to do wedges the night before; plus dh has invited his family for a bbq on Saturday which will likely have the potential to cause a bit of damage although only if I let it...currently sitting planning some really nice salads and thinking that + bbq meat isn't too terrible.

@Kimlek I feel the same with the holidays looming. Normally this is such a nice time of year, working towards the end of term and this year it's totally meh. My youngest is finishing preschool next week and that just feels so weird without any fanfare. We are starting to make tentative plans with friends though and now once the initial rush on places has slowed down a bit I hope we'll be able to do some outdoor type activities.

Hello, may I join please - you seem like a friendly, knowledgeable bunch. Grin

I've been doing a meal replacement diet for the last four months, so 800cals a day. I went from 15st to 12st 8lb quite easily, but have been stuck in the 12st 3lb-8lb for the past two months (mostly because i keep on having weekends off and going way over board). I'd like to get a healthy BMI (11st 12lb) by the end of this month and then switch to eating normal food. Ultimately, I'd like to get down to 11st 3lb-7lb as my comfort zone. (My pre-pregnancy weight was 11st, but that was ten years ago and I think it's setting myself up to fail if I target that).

I did the C25k plan, but then have read lots of people say that if you do hard exercise on an 800 plan, you won't lose, so I stopped.

I'm feeling a little lost/confused about how to get off the meal replacements and onto normal food, and then how to lose that last half stone. I need to start exercising again, as it's good for my mental health.

Whilst I'm pleased with the weight loss, I still feel desperately uncomfortable with my size, and really want to get to my goal before I start seeing people again, because I hate being told I look great when I don't feel it.

Sorry, that's a lot of introduction and TMI. But hello! Thank you for having me!

Plancina · 06/07/2020 09:19

@Bestbees yes I really think it is! The meal plans and shopping lists mean I don’t really have to worry about what to eat, it’s all weighed out so as long as I follow the recipes then calories are good. The food has been delicious and I haven’t felt deprived (except of wine Grin)
Total weight loss for W1 of fast800 is 1.7kg - I did get down to 2.5 but have sprung up again, perhaps due to Sat eve wine or strength training (3 Sessions).
Hoping for a better loss this week as no social events planned until next Tuesday, so will have a solid 7 days at it.
I realised one of the issues is that for me, 800 cals is only 1000 cals a day below maintenance so if I go over them, I’ll seriously limit my chances of losing whereas for a lot of people on the forum, their maintenance is 2,500plus so they have more leeway. Sigh.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/07/2020 10:50

@WhatWillSantaBring welcome! One way to wean off the meal replacement shakes is to streamline your menu for a few weeks, so start by replacing your lunch shake with eg. 2eggs and 1/2 an avocado (eg 250 cals) and have the same every day (maybe vary the eggs for a bit of change eg scrambled, poached, hard boiled etc)

Hi everyone - I lost 5.5lb last week, my first week on Fast 800 but ive put 2lb on overnight! I did have a cheeky slice of birthday cake so that may be why 😬

Can i ask how often people do HIIT on this plan? i did 5 days last week including this morning but feeling really wiped!
Thank you, its really lovely seeing how much progress people have made 😊

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/07/2020 15:37

@Newhouse76 well done! That 2lb gain will just be water/glycogen stores replenishing (unless you ate a serious amount of cake?!) I do daily workouts, not hiit but running mostly (although now outdoor classes are open again I'm booked in for a few!) but I do need more calories as a result (I am doing well on 1200 daily). You can reduce the wipes out feeling by ensuring you are well hydrated and keeping your salt intake up. Once you get more accustomed to using your stored energy (fat) for fuel you will begin to get more efficient at doing it as well
