Onanother it's horrible when that happens, try not to let it put you off course, remember your goals and how far you have come. I am swollen up like a hot air balloon (period) and am just waiting for it to pass and the time is right to hit the threadmill and give it another go. A 2 lb loss is not to be sniffed at, do keep going.

onanothertrain · 17/10/2018 19:50

Not lost any inches either 😢
I'd like to lose another 12 pounds so I'm going to do another round of 8 weeks at 800 cals and hope for the best. At least I know I can maintain on BSD!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/10/2018 21:24

Onanother that’s a shame but west is right, it’s not to be sniffed at either! It’s a marathon not a sprint and all that. I do find that if I freestyle BSD, I eat rather too many calories- and as everything is so calorie dense, they can really add up. It could be that you’re just balancing your intake/outgoing very successfully resulting in a maintain. I don’t think there’s any harm in a few weeks maintenance though, as ultimately it’s a skill to be learned the same as weight loss, and in many ways is harder than weight loss (as lifelong dieters like us know where we are with diets!)

I’ve eaten lots today, had half portion of oats for breakfast, cheese for lunch (just a slice or two) and then was picking all afternoon annoyingly. I should have just eaten a proper lunch. Dinner was bolognese on veg and some frozen fruit and cream.

The big difference this week? Grazing, not planning my meals very well, buying things I really shouldn’t and then eating them peanut butter, and a bit of a dose of ‘can’t be arsed this week’ which is not a good combination! I’m going to give myself a talking to before tomorrow, plan my menu in the morning for the next 2-3 days and try and get my head back in the game!

Took a long hard look in the mirror this morning. Limbs are fine Grin but the middle section is a perfect example of the big old spare tyre. As usual I have gained during period. Starting on a Thursday is a bit odd however, getting BSD book out again, supermarket shop this morning, going to stick to 800 kc a day, no wine. Goal is to lose 10 lbs, hopefully lose at least an inch off waist.

onanothertrain · 18/10/2018 09:13

I'm with you west. I'm doing almost exactly the same. Except for giving up wine. I'm not going that far!!

Westwing1 · 18/10/2018 09:41

Cool onanother, I am in the veg aisle Halo.

Westwing1 · 18/10/2018 13:05

Got the letter today "no worrying abnormalities identified and no further investigation", phew! 6 weeks of worry comes to an end.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/10/2018 15:25

West wing you must be very relieved! Great news! WineStarGlitterball

Thanks Bear, very relieved to draw a line under that experience. Salmon and veg for dinner, coffee, humous and celery for lunch.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/10/2018 19:01

Had a rather crappy day today. Two nights of Ds being poorly in the night, difficult discussion with someone, work, knackered..... we all know where this is going don’t we??

I just ate 2 chomp bars and Dh is bringing wine home! I’m my own worst enemy and I don’t even care I do really

I’m totally up for a few weeks 800 cal boot camp starting Monday if anyone’s up for it? The whole shebang.

OP posts:
onanothertrain · 18/10/2018 19:39

I'm up for it bear.
Started today and finishing on 784 calories and 36g carbs. Day 10 of ripped in 30. Determined to lose my last 12 pounds

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/10/2018 20:28

Great on, I’m maintaining by the skin of my teeth but the last few weeks have felt like a chore to keep on plan rather than just sort of doing it. I often feel like that when I eat too much, and definitely when I have too many carbs, so I feel like I want to go back to basics for a few weeks to get that nice clear BSD head on. I’ve had a few weeks of no counting and various social things but now I need to knuckle down for Christmas!

I'm up for a boot camp starting on Mon. DS goes back to school so it should be easier to get back into a routine.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 19/10/2018 07:59

Hi place! How are you doing??

OP posts:
APlaceAtTheBSDTable · 19/10/2018 09:41

Hi bear ! I have been avoiding the scales and slipping into bad habits Blush . ..
DPIL passed away. We moved house and I'm still not back to full mobility. So life has been hectic and erratic which makes it much easier for me to reach for unhealthy snacks.
You seem to have been staying focused for the months I have been AWOL! Well done on maintaining exercising too. Flowers

Westwing1 · 19/10/2018 10:46

Count me in Bear, pretty good day yesterday, had a pot of olives which may have put me over 800 but at least it was all good food. Lost 1/4 lb. 9 3/4 lbs to go.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 19/10/2018 14:41

Gosh place you’ve had a tough few months then. Hope you are ok Flowers

Just sat down to a lovely salad with ham, cheese, avocado and realised I can’t remember the last time I actually prepped a proper BSD lunch instead of just grazing on ham and cheese. I need to make time to do it next week every day!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 19/10/2018 18:19

Gah, spoiled my lovely lunch with eating rubbish this evening. I’m really struggling this week. I keep finding myself in the kitchen and what I’m eating isn’t even nice, it’s crap. It’s 9 days til my period is due so can’t be pmt hormones.

I’ve planned my food for tomorrow: nice salad lunch, sausage egg and Celeriac chips for dinner, and I am just going to have to draw a line under today and move on. And then actually stick to the plan tomorrow!!!!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/10/2018 08:19

Weighed in at 10.3 yesterday so despite eating rubbish I’m maintaining pretty well. Feel very unhealthy though!

Putting finishing touches to my menu and shopping list for BSD boot camp. I need to increase my protein and veg intake and reduce my dairy consumption oh cheese, I love you as I’m pretty certain that my rather generous slices of cheese are going some way towards increasing my carb cravings and also my waistline! So I’m planning a cheese free week too.

Today we’re having roast gammon and veg for dinner, and lunch will probably be something and salad.

Please can I join the BSD boot camp?
I did an initial round a year or so ago (not 100%, but not too far off) and lost some weight. I have been loosely applying the principles since then and have lost/gained the same 1 or 2 kilos.
The last 5 weeks have been a disaster zone - 2 weeks away, 2 weeks with a visitor and this last week just cba. I am now about 3 kg above my highest ”floating “ weight and clothes are in danger of getting tight.
My main downfall is wine, followed by crisps, frites and the occasional yen for decent bread.
I know I feel better when I eat the BSD way, with 2 meals only, so am determined to get back on track and have a solid 8 weeks. Only 2 flies in the ointment on the horizon: next Saturday is a charity fair and there will be the best fish and chips for miles (the French don’t really do fish and chips) so I can’t see me passing this up; following week is my wedding anniversary, so there may be Champagne... Other than this I am determined to stick to BSD food.
Any advice, support, criticism gratefully received.

Sorry, that was longer than anticipated.

Westwing1 · 21/10/2018 11:53

Good day yesterday, stuck to it, lots of green veg was eaten, 9 lbs to go. Going out to friends for Sunday lunch, will dodge the Yorkies and roast pots. Welcome French.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/10/2018 12:17

Good morning frenchfemme, welcome!

Here’s my menu planned for the first half of the week (until payday!) all calorie counted to 800 (and whereas sometimes I do allow more in lieu of running, this week I’m not- I should have enough excess calories stored from the last few weeks! I’ve planned my exercise, a fish only day, no cheese....Halo

The only thing to do now is actually stick to it!!! I’m not even going to buy the danger foods this week. I am highly unlikely to go out in the car and get them if I’m craving mid week, so provided they’re out of the cupboards then I should be relatively safe. I will weigh in tomorrow morning for the purposes of bootcamp.

Today I’ve been 50/50- meals have been, or will be, good- but I’ve snacked a bit on things I shouldn’t have. This week coming up is my worst week for carb cravings as i’m due on on Friday/Saturday but I love a challenge and I’m feeling determined!

Was on a course on Friday and didn't get home til 730 so bought a pizza and bottle of wine on way home Blush. Ate all the pizza even though it was pretty salty but didn't even open the wine. Had a good day yesterday and today though.
I think I probably eat too much cheese too bear but there's no way I'm giving it up!!
