I like the sound of pizza! I will have a look at the recipes, thanks for sharing train and bear.

Slightly better today. Big crunchy salad lunch and feeling a bit more positive this afternoon.
No idea aobut dinner yet.... but I have eggs and chicken and veggies in the fridge so it will be fine, I’m sure.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 14/08/2018 15:01

It's much better than cauliflower pizza but at 400 calories for half I don't know if it's worth it. I'm also not sure I can resist the other half....

I added it up wrong. 342 cal for half. I then ate it all. But am very full and satisfied but have now had 1286 cal and 77g carbs. Better than yesterday. Not enough steps again but have been doing good deeds today so mentally in a good place.

ChocEggNoThanks · 14/08/2018 18:27

Solidarity fellow Strugglers!

I'm a bit worried I'm never going to get my head back into this 🙈

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/08/2018 18:55

I didn’t do the pizza in the end, my recipe was for avocado and bacon on top and my Avo’s were still rock hard- nothing more disappointing. So instead I had a Birdseye fish thing and mushy peas, and then had a pear poached in cream and cinnamon (read about it on another thread) and it was bloody lovely. I’ll be over on my Calories today though because I haven’t been writing everything down as I promised I would so probably have had millions. Plus Dh has just bought wine. Should be low carb though. Have hardly done any steps as well, only 7k and no run.

Oh well. Try again tomorrow.....!

700 calories and 32.2g carbs. No exercise though Hmm

waterandlemonjuice · 14/08/2018 20:17

Thank you for pizza recipes!

I think I'm over today as I did tapas for supper, it was lovely

I cooked
Padron peppers
Chorizo
Spinach salad with pine nuts and Parmesan
Beetroot and feta
Salami
Tomatoes

That was for 3 of us. Tried not to eat too much chorizo and feta but bet I was over 400. Oh well, no alcohol again, day 22 I think

NoUnderpantsinSpace · 14/08/2018 21:18

I might have helped rid the house of cupcakes today Hmm but I’m trying to be kind to myself and see this as a period of adjustment. I knew trying to be strict with 4 celebrations in the space of 10 days was going to be hard!
And I think I have my total at around 1100 cal today. So it hasn’t been awful awful... it could be better. But I’m getting there. Other than the cake it was a low carb day...

Roundisashape · 14/08/2018 21:23

Hello. I've decided I need some accountability so thought I would try here. I did the BSD 16 months ago. Lost 2 stone in 2 months and did a pretty good job of keeping it off, then Christmas happened, followed by long long winter, followed by lots of Ice creams and bbq's over the summer Blush. So I've put 10lbs back on. I'm struggling to behave again and get my mind back into it.

DH's birthday tomorrow so will probably do a bit of celebratory eating and drinking and then that is it!! I have bought new ski trousers and must be able to breathe in them Grin.

Hopefully I can slink back in. I am a prolific reader not a great poster.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/08/2018 21:26

Welcome round, feel free to lurk and/or post on here! You can lose 10lb no trouble with a few weeks BSD-Ing

ponygirlcurtis · 14/08/2018 21:46

Today was very much an easing in - my intentions were good but it was nowhere near 800 calories. However lots of water, and a snack of oatcakes and hoummus instead of crisps and wine so I will say not too bad for an easing in day.

ChocEggNoThanks · 15/08/2018 08:33

Lots of you are doing so well! Round welcome and I feel your pain. I'm struggling to get restarted after a ridiculously sociable and greedy summer. If you figure out a reset trigger let me know!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/08/2018 10:31

Weighed in at 10.3.6 this morning, which is a substantial amount of my holiday gain gone. Excellent.

Been for a run this morning and now about to embark on a day of gardening! I’m making fishcakes for dinner tonight using butternut squash instead of potato, so hopefully they will be nice.

Dinner out for work last night so hard to estimate, but I think around 1300-1400, including the 2 glasses of wine. But hoping to do better today.

Junkmail · 15/08/2018 12:12

I wish that MN would give us upvotes like Reddit—so much good progress, inspiration and recipe ideas here!

I finished my first round of 8 weeks on Monday and in total I’ve lost just over 24 lbs. I’m pretty happy with that but I’m a little lost now. I do feel like I need a break from BSD but I don’t want to go crazy so I’m going to continue to low carb but maybe be a bit more lenient on the calories? I’m not sure if this is a good tactic? I guess I’ll have to experiment a little.

I’ve not really had to think about it yet because I had my planned “cheat” on Monday with pizza and then fasted yesterday and again today partly because I’m not hungry after all I ate on Monday lol and partly because it’s my birthday tomorrow so another potentially poor eating day so I figured I’d cancel that out too with a two day fast. But after that I’m not sure except I’m planning another 8 week round of BSD in around a months time.

I hope everyone is having an awesome day!

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 15/08/2018 12:22

13 stone 12 this morning so going back down. Not a great day yesterday but much better today. I just need ONE good day.

Westwing1 · 15/08/2018 12:37

Well done Junkmail, you lost that fast! I've lost the same but it's taken me 7 1/2 months. I am practically at my goal weight and feel surprised, alarmed, delighted and at a loss all at once.

Doomclaw's post has prompted me to try on skirt from 2001. The good news is I still love it, below the knee, fitted, velvet, gorgeous colour. It goes over thighs and hips perfectly but zip is a big no, I think another good 2 inches off waist needed. Have a good day everyone.

300 gr roasted asparagus and poached egg for lunch

Poached trout and veg for dinner

doomclaw · 15/08/2018 12:37

That's brilliant

Yesterday wasn't great but back on it today. Managed to go from breakfast at 6.45 to lunch at 12.30 without eating anything which is amazing as second breakfast has been one of my downfalls into now.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/08/2018 12:43

Brilliant junk, in my experience it’s far better to be lenient with the calories than lenient with the carbs. If you use a tdee calculator I find by far the most enjoyable maintenance strategy is to up the calories slightly for 5 days, allow a big feed up to tdee on one or 2 days, but keep the carbs low and still avoid the 5 big nasties if you can (bread, rice, potato, grains, sugar). It makes getting back on track so much easier and you might still continue to lose a few pounds in the process

OP posts:
Junkmail · 15/08/2018 14:56

Thank you bear—that’s helpful. So I think my tdee is roughly around 2000 cals so if I aim for that 1-2 days what should my calorie intake be the other 5-6? Around 1500? I think I will struggle to eat that much tbh. My appetite has changed so dramatically. I have kept carbs around 20-50g a day so I think I’ll just continue to do that because it’s helped in so many ways not only weight loss.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/08/2018 15:48

Does that 2000 factor in exercise? If so, I’d recalculate as sedentary to avoid any overestimating (and therefore overeating). I tend to do about 1200 (my tdee is 1700 sedentary) which basically allows for normal BSD meals plus a yogurt/berry pudding and maybe a glass of wine and a few nuts. If I do this then have a free ‘no count’ day I’ll pretty much maintain.

Key things to think about though:

  1. recalculate your tdee every stone or so that you lose
  2. Don’t ignore your good habits even if you allow more calories- so, drinking lots of water, getting enough sleep, not snacking, not eating too much fruit etc etc.
OP posts:
Junkmail · 15/08/2018 16:22

Thanks again bear—that was calculated with excercise so I’ll work it out without. 1200 sounds a little more doable. I’m just not hungry like I used to be so I honestly don’t think I would manage 2000 cals regularly anyway.

veryveryquietly · 15/08/2018 19:35

woo-hoo junk that's super, congrats!

Had a much better day today, ending around 900 cals and 55 gr carbs (or at least that's what it will be after I have some fruit and ricotta for dessert.

So much wine last night, my headache is still going this evening. Ugh. On the good side, absolutely no desire for wine today. Bleargh.

Seasidedreamer · 15/08/2018 21:12

Fantastic result Junk and hello to Round.

I’ve been away to see a friend for a couple of days. Offered to do the food so fairly BSD compliant apart from some wine and dinner out. Again stuck to chicken / salad and a couple of glasses of red. I did pinch one churros from one of the kids though and one biscuit! Struggled today as I always skip breakfast and then the cafe only had sandwiches/ cake so ended up going to pizza express half way home. Their superfood legerra salad is a good choice. That along with some cheese and ryvitas have brought me in at 765 cals / 61g carbs

Hopefully with only 2 social engagements left in the next 4 weeks i’ll be able to be strict.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 16/08/2018 08:43

13 10.4 today. So still going down. Still haven't managed an 800 day for ages.
