New Thread NYMT/BYMT 2023!

The thread was full so I've started a new one! Hope everyone will find their way here. Just wanted to say that we have bought tickets to come and watch When I grow Up in Kingston in July. Love Kingston and the Rose Theatre and we're just keen to come and support! Looking forward to seeing some of your talented DC on stage and playing in the band.

Huge well done to all the DC involved in the concert yesterday. We thought it was excellent. Lots of very talented young people. If the mums of either of those two girls who sang that duet are on here... just wow! I didn't know the song but they blew the entire audience away. People on their feet mid-show, no less (myself and DS included!). They are really something else. I also really liked the concept for the show and thought the way it was done (without giving too much away for those who haven't seen it yet) was very clever and made everyone's contribution important.

It’s from the Colour Purple Biscuits. It can be a bit overdone by young girls who really are not up to it vocally or emotionally but I agree, those two last night almost stopped the show.

@OneDayMore123 I was thinking about your DD whilst watching last night although of course had no idea which one she was. I hope you and she were both really happy with the residential experience and the show last night!

Hope all the DC are having a great summer. I hear BYMT's Angry Salmon has already happened. Hope it was a big success and the DC on here involved in that had a great time. My DS has gone off to rehearsals for Armchair, and while he's away I'm lucky enough to be going to Curve to watch Kiss Me Kate!

My daughter was in Angry Salmon, she had an amazing time! Loved her very first (most definitely not her last) BYMT experience x

Am also going to see Kiss me Kate this week with DDs before they head off for their BYMT show at the weekend. Hope everyone having a good summer too.

@Cherylf123 really glad to hear your DD had such a great time. These experiences are just so valuable, aren't they? @wonderfullife123 that's so nice of you and your DDs to come to watch Kiss Me Kate. Are you relatively local? Hope you all enjoy it, and also that your DDs then have a wonderful time at their BYMT residential.

Ah I’ve loved seeing all the BYMT posts- looks like the show season has kicked off well. Happy memories as my ds did shows with BYMT the past 2 years and loved it. He’s just heading off to Leicester now ready for kiss me Kate show week- looking forward to seeing them on stage this week.

@Mcmumager I hope your DS is enjoying it all. Is he a dancer, or is he 'stage management' (performers playing stage management, not actual stage management!)? I'm really looking forward to watching it - a lovely old musical done with panache by NYMT with a brilliant band - what could be better?

@Biscuitsneeded he’s a servant/dance ensemble. He is enjoying it all- just messaged to say he’s booking for armchair - he’s got a couple of pals in that. I think they all had a brief crossover last sat. I’d have liked to go but I’m in Ireland & Scotland so sadly can’t fit it in.

@wonderfullife123 Like you I'm in the luxurious position of not needing to feel nerves for a DC in this show (at least a DC of my own, mine is in Armchair) so I am really looking forward to just enjoying the show! I hope you enjoy it too. Once again, really nice of you to support.
