So, with BYMT auditions already underway and NYMT open for booking, it's surely time for a 2022 thread?? Who's in?

Submitted DD's NYMT actor self-tape and booked her audition today, eek! Need to also get her musician audition recorded this side of Christmas as we go on hols on 27th and she's back to school on 4/5th (PCR dependent 🙈)

@allhailthebrain That sounds good in more ways than just not clashing with NYMT! Covid rates here are through the roof. Hopefully things will settle down by summer and school plays won't be too badly affected.

I don’t think we’re joining you this year. 😞 DD has GCSE revision, as well as rehearsals for her Drama GCSE scripted performance, and full on school musical rehearsals at the moment. We have also booked a ‘blow the budget’ holiday for August, so dates would be tricky. Hopefully next year. She may fit in a week long residential MT course at a school nearby, still deciding on that.

Looking forward to hearing your recall news. 🤞😄

Hi @Dalekfan! Nice of you to drop into the waiting room ! I'm hoping our stay in here won't be quite as protracted as last year's, but it's still good to have a visitor. Glad your DD is doing well, and good luck with the revision! Hope she will want to have another go at NYMT/BYMT next year.

Hi @DalekFan - it will still be there next year, and she's been super busy hasn't she! Enjoy that holiday, I'm hoping to book one around whatever happens here and some things other DC has on.

I’ve decided to just book my feb break regardless of the NYMT result. Feel much more relaxed now i’m sorted and if I need to squeeze a quick trip to London for a recall I can but if not recalled then that’s fine too!

That sounds like a good plan @Mcmumager. I was being very patient until today but have also reached the stage of really needing to know because DS is so ridiculously busy! Our fault entirely for agreeing to too many things, but just want to know what we are or are not dealing with. When I saw there was a new message I was really hoping it might be someone with some news! Did anyone bring any biscuits (or gin) to the waiting room this year?

Apparently some no thanks emails have gone out for NYMT... DS' email will go to him so if he's had a no he's not telling me. School show tonight so best if he doesn't think about it right now!

Not necessarily, last year we thought they were doing no's first but our no came after 🤷‍♀️

Yes DD has friends with yes recall emails too so trying NOT to refresh email every 2 minutes. Yuk hate this part and with 3 in the game it gets even worse

They close in age so it happens a lot, trying to keep your ‘I’m delighted for you’ but ‘I’m so sad for you’ balanced gets tricky!! Two got it last year and one didn’t so kinda hoping that at least she gets it this year

I have 2. In a local but fairly big production and of Chitty, youngest was cast as Jemima Potts. Eldest was her understudy. We still refer to it as 'Jemima-gate'...
