Yes maybe we should have a richmond park start or maybe a finish together if we can work it out roughly ? Moshi - I think you will lap Girls and me many times. SFX - can't remember how much your down for ?

girlsyearapartispregnant · 17/12/2009 21:03

Yep most definitely will lap me as I've just found out I'm pregnant

..excuse me while I retreat to heave up my family size bar of Dairy Milk..

Twink · 17/12/2009 22:41

Oooo Girls, congratulations

Twink how are you and mini-T bearing up?

I guess no one is going out to run in the snow?

girlsyearapartispregnant · 18/12/2009 07:33

Thankyou Twink & TheMaster

No running in the snow for me- our lodger has gone away for xmas, he was my after bedtime babysitter for when I went out for a quick run as DH is nearly always at work at that time.

Hope you and Mini T are holding up Twink- always thinking of you.

sfxmum · 18/12/2009 09:40

congratulations Girls

wheely&moshi 10k is the pledge I shall plod along and complete it

might get neighbour to keep dd for an hr this afternoon so I can run a bit, morning too busy and I got up late
(not random neighbour I hasten to add, the girls are in school together)

Yeah Girls - congratulations !!

Nice to see you Twink

Tipex (or may I call you sciencebint ?) -hello !!! How are you - are you joining us here ??

MoshiMoshi · 18/12/2009 22:08

Girls - congratulations! Makes me all broody thinking about pregnancy and the smell of a newborn [repeat to self: I must not have any more babies, I must not have any more babies... !]

MoshiMoshi · 18/12/2009 22:11

PS Twink - don't forget to start the new thread! We can use it to focus on the MNMarathon hereonin. If you find yourself in bed at night staring at the ceiling a bit too much, you could always get those lovely glowing stars to make yourself a constellation to look at?

liath · 19/12/2009 15:31

How are you doing?

Icy pavements are not conducive to running....

OrmIrian · 20/12/2009 11:12

Is anyone else struggling with the cold? I don't mean icy pavements and all that, I just mean the cold air. I did a 10 miler on Friday and I ached the whole way round - afterwards I wondered if I was going down with flu I was so achey. Muscles just never seem to warm up thoroughly.

Must be getting old

MarshaBrady · 20/12/2009 11:16

I am probably delusional and it is way too cold.

But how long do you guys think is a reasonable time after having a baby to start running again?

Wheelybug · 20/12/2009 19:25

I've read and heard different things Marsha. My hospital said no impact exercise for 5 months but I know people have run when they felt up to it (I think the main risk is to pelvic floor). I did wait until 5 months but I hadn't run at all during pregnancy and I had a c-sec and quite frankly I didn't sleep for the first 6 months and felt too knackered.

Wheelybug · 20/12/2009 19:26

oh and I wimped out of a run today - we haven't really had snow but our pavements today were like ice rinks. BUt, I am going to make use of the fact MIL will relish getting me out of the house whilst we're staying at hers over christmas so will go out running there - DH is saying we should go together but he runs faster than me.... which might actually be good for me !

sfxmum · 21/12/2009 11:43

I all went out briefly mostly dodging ice patches barely made it to 3 miles but hopefully will do more or less the same all the way to Christmas eve

happy Christmas and happy running

Themasterandsnowballs · 21/12/2009 17:22

I am supporting you all in your icy climes by not going out, just so you don't feel jealous of me being able to run in the sunshine.

MrsWednesday · 22/12/2009 20:27

I've braved the elements and been out for a slippy and chilly 4 miles in the snow. It was lovely, the best way to clear my slight hangover and general stuffiness after a few days away with the in-laws (ate and drank far too much).

Congratulations girlsyearapart!

Thinking of Twink and mini-Twink - hope you are doing as well as you can in the circumstances.x

fishie · 22/12/2009 22:03

girls i have seen your other posts, ferventlyhope ok.

orm cold air just doesn't happen here, it takes till i get pretty hot before steamy breath. but my asthmatic friend really suffers with dry cold air.

i am terribly frightened of ice. tried to run twice on sunday but had to give up, icefields of football pitches or lots of side streets to negotiate here before i get to proper outdoors. still no chance of getting out.

twink xxxx thinking of you

Wheelybug · 23/12/2009 20:00

Struggled round a cold and icy 5K today - had a stitch all the way round.. is that the cold ??

Anyway, am off to MIL tomorrow for the festivities so have a good one everybody and you get lots of running sock in your stockings.

Twink - will be thinking of you.

fishie · 23/12/2009 23:10

no wheely it is choccy biscuits.

hooray for thaw, have 12 days off work. i might run on some of them.

girlsyearapart · 24/12/2009 06:52

Thanks to those who have read/posted on my other threads.

The positive vibes paid off and after bleeding lots and being sure I had lost the baby it turns out that the baby is there with a strong heartbeat and I am in fact 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow!

But the doctor has banned me from running now..

So I will have to pull out of the TwinkAthon and the Reading Half. Sorry.

DH not impressed as my xmas list had lots of running things on it and now he is clueless about what to get.

Also must ve been pregnant when I did that 15k the other weekend so I am officially reducing my time to under 2 hours

Merry christmas to you all.

Twink thinking of you over Christmas.

fishie · 24/12/2009 22:49

girls i am so pleased. you can be my trainer.

went for a nasty muddy slippy run today but was lovely to be outside.

who goes for an xmas day run? apparently my brother wants to go with me yikes.

girlsyearapart · 26/12/2009 14:02

ok fishie will do. Do you want me to be a mean trainer who makes you run when you don't want to??

I saw loads of people out running yesterday- this time last year I would've thought 'What the hell are they doing that for??' This year i was jealous.. I think I'm an addict

stickylittlefingers · 27/12/2009 11:39

Hi all and hope you have had a good couple of days - girls glad to hear all well, tho for you that you can't run. I definitely suffer from running jealousy badly!

Am very chuffed with my pressies - included a nike thing to go with the i-pod, have been shown how to us it, and now it's thawing a bit I should go out and do so. Am on babysitting duties today, tho, as I've packed dp off to the moors after two days of stuffing his face spending quality time with the family indoors!
