Thanks everyone! feeling so much better today yay.

Will try my best to do a bit of training but don't want to kill myself over it. At least it's not a charity one so not letting anyone down (except me)

Thanks for ParkRun link. Will prob give the Richmond Park one a go one weekend. Anyone else done it there before?

fishie · 04/11/2009 09:47

sfx mum we are same age, me 41 in january.

i have got new running shoes and they are a mistake, toes all numb. but have had to try them twice to discover this and now must take them back to shop which is not a nice thought. what if they say it is all my fault and i've just got to pay for another pair? i am partly to blame - it is no news to me that my toes are long.

sfxmum · 04/11/2009 20:50

fishie am at the start of February

about shoes so far the Brooks adrenaline have been my better fit, fantastic shoes

not been running since Sunday awful flu like symptoms lots of shivering and aching and high temp yuck hope it goes soon, just want my bed

girsly definitely recommend a walk/ jog incremental programme it does wonders pretty quickly and gives you small achievable goes that keep you motivated

hope everyone is well

Hello

haven't run since my 10k a week last Saturday . Half term not good for running and having two training days on the end really doesn't help . probably not going to run again until this Saturday when I fear my muscles will complain. Will do it though

fishie · 04/11/2009 22:48

well phew-ish from scary return to running shop. they gave me replacements for agonising shoes. but then in abject gratitude i bought another pair so now have on and off road. so had better get on with it!

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/11/2009 05:02

haha fishie

Sorry you are feeling poorly sfx, lots of it going round here too, apparently it is swine flu. The whole of Year 3 seem to have it.

Girls, how is it going?

I haven't had the chance to get out this week as there has been too much rain and things going on. I think I'll try for a 10k on Saturday morning.

sfxmum · 05/11/2009 13:48

don't think it it is the dreaded swine flu or even the garden variety, feel much better today after 3 days on intense shivering and feeling awful
can just about contemplate a run on Saturday
actually really looking forward t it

peachsmuggler · 05/11/2009 15:25

Glad you are on the mend sfx

Well, am going running tonight after 10 days on the bench with a bad back. It is hill training at my running club. Wish me luck!

IdrisTheDragon · 05/11/2009 18:08

Hope it goes well

sfxmum · 05/11/2009 19:27

good luck/ hope it went well

peachsmuggler · 06/11/2009 16:53

Hill training was...well nauseating! Apparently this is the desired effect though so all good! Was actually good fun and I pushed myself much more than I would have on my own. Also got great fireworks view from top of the hill!

Not sure about this weekend. Was building up 1 mile each week but keep getting set back. Did 9 miles 3 weeks ago, but not sure it would be wise to do 10 until I'm sure back is 100%. Might try 6. Really looking forward to it, whatever distance I do.

popsycal · 06/11/2009 19:16

Hmmm.

My 10K is supposed to be on Sunday. It is a local running club 10k. I am number 126. I will come close to last going by previous year's results. I stubbed my previously broken little toe yesterday and it hurts. I have hardly trained since GNr.

Force me to run, guys!!!!!

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2009 19:25

Ow at hurt toe (I have previously broken little toe and if I stub it I am very saw).

You do seem to be good at doing fast times so maybe it will work?

morethanyoubargainfor · 07/11/2009 09:47

I would love to exchange running playlist cds if anyone is up for it. I am much slightly older than most of you so could offer late 70s tracks from my youth in exchange for some of the tracks you were mentioning a few posts back?

popsycal · 07/11/2009 18:38

yes I am running tomorrow
no really 'set' as such but amrunning
it is going to be very muddy and exposed and running clubbish
but I will do it.
Hardly trained but looking forward to a bit of peace

IdrisTheDragon · 07/11/2009 19:22

The Ketchup song is one that gets played at a music group DD and I go to. It is very bouncy and happy and inspires me to (a) clean kitchen and (b) run

popsycal · 08/11/2009 06:53

in need of a kick p the arse

am lying in bed having persuaded dh to get up with the boys. talking myself out of my run. it will be very very muddy and very very exposed and i dont feel mentally ready for it.
i daren't lookot of the curtains

Wheelybug · 08/11/2009 07:25

Am on phone at MIL so excuse typos.

Pops - I was going to say stay in bed and enjoy the lie in but realise now its a proper run so maybe you should go.
Do you think you'll regret it if you don't? It'll be fine once you're up and out ( she says hypocritically sulking having been up since six wondering why Mil hasn't come to loo k after her smallest grand daughter and knowing when she does, she'll say ho good it is she slept till 6. Which it is but I would still like to be in bed

anyway LOVING the playlists. Will post mine in full when I am at home and adding some of these tracks. Mmargherita t'was I who said I'd do a cd. Let me know anything particular you'd like.

Having had a week or so off running with half term I am back in the swing and did my two gym sessions this El. 5k both times, found it f5ine so working on getting my speed back up. Might get out later for a proper out sidey run unless I think of a suitable excuse

Good luck today popsy!
