Thanks for the new thread @BigButtons ! I looked at today's workout, didn't fancy it so did my usual excellent Intent workout instead, which is a lot of delt work but far more interesting to do. I feel that a lot of unilateral arm work is sort of filling the time, rather lazy programming?

BigButtons · 02/02/2026 14:48

@samthebordercollie I quite like the look of today’s one. I said yesterday’s didn’t feel too hard at the time but I am in serious doms land today- like proper hurting to walk- especially my arse and it wasn’t even a glute day 🤔
I am trying to keep with the series as I usually give up on them as I get bored. This one has kept my interest more. I don’t fancy the glute day tomorrow though as j feel have done enough glutes and hammies already this week.

Which intent one is it btw?🙂

Play day 22. Same weights as Caroline and I enjoyed it.

@BigButtonsIntent Day 46! I do it regularly. I’m glad you enjoyed day 22 despite all the unilateral arm work (which I get really bored with!)

BigButtons · 02/02/2026 18:00

i love unilateral work. She has one you tube which is my favourite ever upper body of hers of all time and it is all unilateral- including all the bicep and tricep work!

Thanks for the new thread @BigButtons !

When do you guys do your workouts? I think I'm going to have to start dragging my ass out of bed early to do them as I'm not managing to fit them in of an evening much these days, there's too much else going on. Maybe it's time to learn a new habit instead of lying in bed waiting for my coffee to be brought to me by my in house barista (who makes excellent coffee but it takes him bloody ages). In fact, I could probably get the workout done during the time it takes him to grind the beans and faff about. I'm setting my alarm clock...

I think I'll try the leg day one from sunday in the morning. I didn't make it out for a run today.

TessTickle0 · 02/02/2026 21:30

I do my workouts once I finish work, some days I finish early afternoon so these are easier, other days I finish later but I literally come home, get into my workout gear and get it done, otherwise I simply wouldn't.
It's the same on a weekend, once all other stuff is outta the way I go and do a workout.
This works for me but otherwise I think I would struggle to fit them in..I admire all those who getup extra early to do it.
Can't remember who asked but if I was to repeat a programme from YouTube it would be heat or endgame

Fibrous · 02/02/2026 21:32

Yeah maybe on the days I'm working out of the house I need to do that.

TessTickle0 · 02/02/2026 21:34

Oh and @Fibrous my OH bought himself a coffee machine recently and my god!the faff to make a small cup of coffee.
I can't say if it's any good as I dont drink coffee!
He's bought a load of pointless (to me) tools for it all as well

Fibrous · 02/02/2026 22:08

@TessTickle0 we've had ours for a few years now but the tools/upgrades still arrive regularly. It would drive me mad if I wasn't benefitting from it. His latte art is top grade, too.

It's too faffy for me, when he's not here I drink tesco instant 😂

BigButtons · 03/02/2026 07:33

Can anyone give me an alternative to today’s glute and hammie day because if looks very tedious.

Fibrous · 03/02/2026 08:00

I got up early and did play day 21 - legs, and feeling pleased with myself. Think I’ll try and make this a habit.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 03/02/2026 08:18

I have been working out in the evenings recently due to work/kids but it's badly interfering with my sleep. The best time for me is early morning. Well done Fibrous

I did PE day 39, not tedious and quite challenging ( I subbed half of the stability ball roll outs for RDLs.) Some plyometrics too.
i hate working out in the evening too because it’s not good for my sleep @Gobacktotheworld2. I prefer to get up very early and workout, fortunately my kids are older so I can!

Fibrous · 03/02/2026 10:02

Ah that's interesting that it interferes with your sleep. I've not been sleeping that great so I will see if that improves with a morning workout.

samthebordercollie · 03/02/2026 10:08

@Fibrousexercise increases your cortisol level which should naturally decrease in the evening. It causes stress to your body in the same way drinking alcohol does so it has the same negative effect on sleep for many people. Cortisol is naturally high in the morning in order to wake you up!

Fibrous · 03/02/2026 10:17

@samthebordercollie yeah that makes sense. If I exercise in the morning it means I should have time for a bit of yoga before bed, too.

Abra1t · 03/02/2026 10:21

Had a look at latest Plays. Can’t face it. Doing body combat instead today.

Minesril · 03/02/2026 10:58

I wfh 3 days a week so do it on my lunchbreak. On Saturdays and Sundays I do it in the morning while the kids are eating breakfast/attached to their devices! I’m not a fan of working out in the evenings.

BigButtons · 03/02/2026 14:07

I can’t exercise in the morning. I have NEVER felt good doing it- even as a teen. It just makes me feel rubbish for the rest of the day- completely wiped out and angry I am afternoon exerciser . When I used to run I would always do so at dusk- it was really calming🙂

Had a hankering to go back to the epics for today’s bum and hammies. I used to loathe them so much. Today I re did epic heat day 11. I had recently tightened my fabric band as it was feeling a bit easy/ lax. This session was bloody brilliant.
CG was still using 25 dumbbell so went 35 on the barbell and it was excruciating painful. Stayed with a 6 minute banded warm up. 25 for the sumos and 15a for the RDLs as cg. I have got so much stronger thanks to her.
Bloody loved it- felt so refreshing to move at a decent pace with tiny rests . Straight into my very favourites playlist. Arse still hurts from the last leg day so it will be super sore tomorrow.🤔

DryIce · 03/02/2026 15:58

Hello gang! Can I join back, I have recently re started after an (embarrassing long...) break.

I am doing play - does everyone have a barbell?? I do not, is using a couple of dumbbells an acceptable substitute or am I kidding myself!

TessTickle0 · 03/02/2026 16:04

I would probably get a barbell, there is ALOT of hip thrusts/bridges.
Before I got the app I was wrestling my two 15kgs on to my lap,it was a pain as they never felt stable and it began hurting my wrists holding them in place.
I now have a barbell, BUT I dont have bumper plates so still kinda wrestling about with it.
Still it's me birthday soon so that will be my pressie.

BigButtons · 03/02/2026 17:42

Hi @DryIce welcome back! My hip thrust life was exponentially better after getting a barbell. If is way more comfortable, manageable and you can lift much heavier than with dumbbells. I do not have an Olympic bar so it was a right pita getting out from under it. Then I found some cheap vinyl plates at 15kg each . They are massive and act as bumper plates so now life is even better. I still loathe hip thrusts though !!
