I probably haven't done enough sessions of Play to judge and I would never diss a programme, it's just not my favourite. Caroline doesn't look quite as lean as previous programmes but that's probably nothing to do with the programme itself, she's getting older.

Fibrous · 13/02/2026 14:01

Thanks @Gobacktotheworld2 although I'm not getting my hopes up. This will be the third time we've tried to move but we keep picking lemons as we're looking for a small house/lots of land combo and they are thin on the ground in our area. And bloody expensive. So anything that falls in our price range seems to have serious issues we don't spot until we're several surveys down and the mortgage company tells us no chance!

This one is in our perfect location with four acres of hilly wood that looks like it's about to fall on the (decrepit) house 😂- it has some epic old retaining walls that are giving me the heebie jeebies. It's so annoying with the english system that the seller doesn't do all the surveys so you don't know how big the problems are before you start bidding.

I'm mostly using this as an exercise to get the jobs done in our house that have been hanging around for months.

BigButtons · 13/02/2026 16:55

@Fibrous good luck with that- sounds fascinating! My house purchase was real uncomplicated a few years agin- although eh chain was quite long- I am still trauma by the whole process. I remember my solicitor saying the English system was not fit for purpose.
@samthebordercollie I agree she is not as lean- I think she has bulked up muscle wise though/ she looks healthier than she used to. Mind you I have some friends who have clearly over done it on the old WLI and look bloody awful( these were not over weight to start with)- so I have a thing about women trying to get thin atm- makes me want to eat more crisps to compensate for their skeletal frames.

BigButtons · 13/02/2026 16:57

One colleague at work looks dreadful- ah is so so thin and almost shapeless. She was shivering in the staff room today . I gave her my spare scarf and gloves . I wanted to tell her just to eat some bloody food. The whole’ black market ‘WLI thing frightens me big time.

OP posts:
TessTickle0 · 13/02/2026 17:40

Oh god YES! A friend of mine is using them and she was strong, fit and healthy looking with a arse i coveted.
Now she looks so frail and bird like, she even admitted her bum has disappeared.
Yet continues to jab herself.
I also know a few others who were bigger and look amazing after using WLI but wonder how far they will go....

Fibrous · 13/02/2026 17:47

The black market WLI for those that don’t need them sounds like a highway to osteoporosis. I’m also very glad they weren’t around when I was younger as I know I’d have been tempted even though my body was perfectly fine.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 13/02/2026 19:54

Re: Caroline's appearance I doubt she's building new muscle after weight training for 20 years. Probably just lighting, new orange sheep dip she's swimming in, different props, or filters/ lens on her camera distorting her. She has made it clear in her pollyanna writings that perimenopause isn't going to affect her so we can rule that out.

The new skeleton army creep me out. The only good thing from a selfish POV is that, unusually, the nice clothes shops have plenty of size 8-12 dresses in them, as so many people are using WLI to get down to Bergen-Belsen victim sizes.

samthebordercollie · 13/02/2026 20:03

It must be so expensive to be on the GLP-1 jabs. And as @Fibroussays it’s a sure path the osteoporosis there is no strength training going on. @Gobacktotheworld2I agree Caroline is just maintaining, muscle memory is real. Like Mr Kearney, he didn’t build muscle like that just doing Caroline’s workouts, he’s been lifting for years. I live I rural France and don’t know anyone on fat jabs, but all my friends are quite sporty and eat well so no need. Lasagne and chips, just why???

Gobacktotheworld2 · 13/02/2026 20:23

Agreed. Lasagne and chips are incomplete without a thick slice of sandwich bread either side.

TessTickle0 · 13/02/2026 20:44

@Gobacktotheworld2 your post re Caroline and her sheep dip made me literally laugh out loud..love it!
Surely it needs to be garlic bread with any kind of pasta????

Fibrous · 13/02/2026 20:56

You can’t beat a triple carb meal!

Yeah my main friendship group (and source of multiple boyfriends except the current one) all came out of a uni cycling club so everyone is still pretty sporty but I know plenty of casual acquaintances taking it and some definitely didn’t need to. Trying to convince my brother to try them though as he is depressed and obese and I think both are just fuelling the other. He needs help.

BeethovenNinth · 14/02/2026 06:56

I have slipped with Caroline a bit - I injured myself again. Sometimes it’s just too much for me. I did the Annanas last - nice workouts and less intense and I feel similar results!

I do always get back to Caroline though.

agree with the weight loss jabs. They are everywhere and you can tell usually as there is a certain haggard face you get on them - the facial fat goes. It’s not a nice look. They fuck your gallbladder too - so many seem to wind up needing surgery

I’m still going for strong and real food

Gobacktotheworld2 · 14/02/2026 18:39

I do always get back to Caroline though.

Me too. Caroline's workouts are broadly so effective, they do drag you back pretty regularly. It's rare that a workout feels like a waste of time.

I did a Sydney Cummings one this morning- Anterior strength.

It had some good moves I haven't done before- "outward chops" for leg raises for one. And it had one-sided upright rows, some side planks, plank dumbbell dragthroughs and deadbugs, all great moves that CG doesn't treat us to very often, if ever.

CG has written a very defensive HQ about not being perfect. It should whip up her superfans. Couldn't read it all but was there a specific trigger- has someone else dissected her on youtube?

Also-- loved this common sense remark from Nina Z amid all the dozens of sycophantic "They're just jealous of you, Queen, keep shining!" comments.

Can her dipshit lickarse superfans not see the clear cognitive dissonance in her saying "Hey, I'm just me, I'm imperfect" and "How dare people criticise me?" ? She is great but she is incredibly thin-skinned. And she whipped up a shitstorm with a huge defensive rant on Justina Ercole's account when Justina criticised her workout - and Justina DID the workout, so CG's rewriting history there.

And Nina Zed is right, her RDL form is dodgy as fuck. I'd also add the speed at which she performs some abs moves (where she is essentially bouncing on the vertebrae of her lower back rather than lifting ina controlled way from her core) and her hyperextending on hip thrusts on youtube. I still love the workouts, Caroline, chill. It's 2026 and we don't have blasphemy laws anymore.:D

I skim read it like I do most of her stuff.

OP posts:
BigButtons · 15/02/2026 08:16

Interesting - I have just gone to the fb group and my ability to post has been temporarily suspended . I have no idea why as I hardly ever post anything anyway. My last post was to someone I know saying I had pulled one of my ‘arse cheeks’ so had to stop doing glute work for a bit. That was it. 🤣🤣
it is such a useless group.

OP posts:
Fibrous · 15/02/2026 08:20

I just read it and it wasn’t too bad as far as her posts go. It’s the frothing it generates which is intolerable. Anyway, guess all she is saying is we will always judge and be judged, it’s human nature. Something we are not immune to on this thread 🤣.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 15/02/2026 08:47

Oh she knows exactly what hysterical response she's generating because she has done this before. She had one of her admin post on her group reacting to one of the TFNL critiques a while back. Even though what he said was 99% percent praise. The 1% criticism was unacceptable.

I'm just curious if there's been another YouTube or perhaps other like Instagram or FB critique she's reacting to. Something's set her off.

BigButtons is on the naughty step? 🙄 You must have said something less than "Caroline is a literal goddess and I have sacrificed my first-born to her."

BigButtons · 15/02/2026 08:53

I said the words arse cheek because I hurt my arse cheek. That was literally the last thing I posted on someone else’s thread🤣
I am surprised there is nothing on Reddit about her post.
where was the Nina Z comment?
I do really think she should talk more technique and form than she does. I know she gives tips but if often be the tiny little adjustments that than make a difference and prevent injury. I have a tendency to let my wrists roll backwards when I am pressing for example.

OP posts:
Gobacktotheworld2 · 15/02/2026 09:29

We should all post ARSECHEEKS in solidarity. :D

The Nina Zed comment is/was on Caroline's latest post.

Her form tips were a bit better on youtube than now. For one thing, they were legible!

BigButtons · 15/02/2026 17:26

I did day 30? Leg day. I did it all BW so that I could look out for my very angry ARSE CHEEK. I subbed a bit because I got bored- did wall sits instead of elevated squats and did curtesies for the finishers- which was a mistake as they really hurt my arse cheek/hip- seems it is a glute medius issue with some upper hamstring joint the party. I swear to god it’s all these bloody hip thrusts she is now doing

OP posts:
Fibrous · 17/02/2026 08:43

I did play day 30 yesterday and 31 this morning. I think because they are in the morning and I haven’t had my coffee yet they just pass by in a daze so Indont have much of an opinion of them. Think I need more in between weights as I went light on the shoulder presses this morning as I couldn’t do. 100 of the heavy ones, or even ten. But whatever the weights were I was using (some indecipherable adjustable weight) was a bit too easy. No twingey arse cheeks here. Not sure I’m getting them at all without a barbell.

It's stopped raining here so time to take some photos of my garden and get my house listed. Nothing is really selling around here but might as well give it a punt.

BigButtons · 17/02/2026 19:05

Did arse and hamstring day today- no idea what day anymore. I was very surprised because normally I loathe arse day with a passion. I took the weights down due to my grumbling arse and hip and actually enjoyed it and the time went by quickly. I like pyramid training though .
had to go to minors today due to a very painful big toe which I stubbed during an angry hoovering session on Sunday. Normally I would not bother with toes ( have broken loads over the years) but big toes are supposed to be looked at. Luckily no break. If I am going to break toes it will be when when hovering . Angry hoovering 😂🤬

OP posts:
Fibrous · 17/02/2026 19:15

Do you have a Henry? I find it’s good for flinging down stairs when angrily hoovering!

yeah bloody toes are a bad design. Have broken the big one myself before when a horse stomped on it. I was stood talking to some people and it wandered over from the other side of the field and just stomped on me. I hate horses. Although maybe my years of greyhound slavery will have prepared me better for their temperament now.

TessTickle0 · 17/02/2026 21:03

Where you also muttering about how no one else does fuck all in this house whilst angry hoovering? That's my kinda hoovering!
Oh and I agree Henry's are great for flinging about to really drive the point home.
