I hate my Henry. I don’t think I’ve ever sworn as much as I do since he came into my life. And with 2 border collies and 4 cats he gets used daily, poor thing!

Fibrous · 17/02/2026 21:32

My DP feels the same. He uses the little cordless shark, but with two dogs and two cats I feel only the henry will do. Team Henry.

Gobacktotheworld2 · 17/02/2026 21:34

Sending woo woo healing rays to your toe, BB. They don't sell Henrys here downunder and I miss mine!

Going to try the pyramid glute one next weekend. I'm doing other workout things including Heather this week (has anyone tried T Nation's 10000 Kettlebell Swing Challenge? I am doing two sessions a week as a cardio session and it's killing me. Up to the 8th session and am visibly leaner though so persisting) but still logging into the app for the gossip. I like the sprinkling of rational users in among the psychos. Harry from TFNL looks like a "vampire," really? I do however agree with janipani that men should shut the fuck up in general, but that is a separate issue. /gavel

Thanks for the healing woo vibes
i HATE Henry’s- they are always falling over
@Gobacktotheworld2 what is this kettlebell thing you talk about? I badly need some cardio and feel like an increasing slug🐌

Ugh it's the most boring thing ever- you do 500 kettlebell swings in a session.
https://t-nation.com/t/the-10-000-swing-kettlebell-workout/283408 I don't do the added strength moves but use this as a cardio day - 100 swings broken up into smaller sets, then 3 mins rest, then repeat x4. Trying to get it down to 30mins but it's still take me more like 45. It's hard to recommend something so mind-numbing but doing this after work 2x a week is definitely helping everything be a little less squishy!

BigButtons · 18/02/2026 07:22

Hmm- thanks @Gobacktotheworld2 . My heaviest bell here is 12kg. I probably need something less hard core to get back into it- I see all sorts of injuries for me if I did that. I wonder if there is something more beginner friendly?

Gobacktotheworld2 · 18/02/2026 08:44

Yy If you Google kettlebell swing challenge, there are tons of different options; short timed sets or counting to 10 reps seems like a good starting point?.Caroline has a good outdoor kettlebell cardio on the app with a few sets of swings. Careful of those ARSECHEEKS of course. She also has a kettlebell cardio on youtube that ends with a solid three or four minutes of nonstop swings. That would kill me! The kettlebell supersets one is good though

samthebordercollie · 18/02/2026 09:29

Agree kettlebells definitely get your heart rate up. I love the 1 hour superset one on the App, I’ll be doing it this weekend as going to the UK to see my dad so I always put a 16kg and 10kg kettlebell in the car, and it takes care of weights and cardio.

MsMoody · 18/02/2026 10:20

I've been with Caroline for 16 months and I'm finally getting comments about my arms and looking like I work out! My legs popped a lot sooner, but I never have them out, so this is very exciting.

TessTickle0 · 18/02/2026 10:43

Woo it's great when you notice little gains isnt it?and even better if others do!
I have noticed my legs have got more defined and lean (despite hating leg day!)
I want to improve my arms,I have got stronger but still have big fat bingo wings ah well!
I might give kettlebell swings a go for cardio-i actually hate ALL cardio so it won't matter what I do in relation to enjoyment.
Team henry!

BigButtons · 18/02/2026 15:26

Thanks @Gobacktotheworld2 I used to do them a lot and have various dvds- I think if might have been one of Caroline’s YouTube kettlebell ones where I first discovered her. remembered swinging for minutes in end and it was brutal. I just feel I need to shake thing up a bit .
i haven’t picked one up for years . I have 2x8kg, 1x 12 kg and 1x 16 kg but the 16kg has a stupidly thick handle that I hate holding.
I am making sure I sit in a deep squat for some time everyday now just to open up my stiff hips so adding 100 swings should be doable and then will see where is goes from there 🙂

OP posts:
BigButtons · 18/02/2026 18:04

Tentatively dusted down my 12kg bell and did a follow along on you tube for 10 mins and got about 200 swings in. I could have done with more cardio tbh . Not gonna drag out the heavier bell yet but will switch the sets to 45 seconds work and 15 seconds rest and do that 10 times🙂

Gobacktotheworld2 · 18/02/2026 19:46

Terrific BB. I am also hitting the bells today. The back and chest workout uploaded on Play this week looks quite good actually- might sneak 1 or 2 circuits of that in.

samthebordercollie · 18/02/2026 20:05

Nice work with the kettlebell swings @BigButtons. Today’s Play workout was a bit too supine for me so I did one of my favourite Intent workouts which is quite tough hitting chest, back and shoulders. Sometimes I do the renegade rows as programmed or switch for normal rows to go heavier.

BigButtons · 19/02/2026 10:57

Thanks for the encouragement 🙂⭐️
Did day 35 today. Was ok. But I loathe circuits ,I swapped diamond press for Tate press as my right shoulder, although better, was twinging doing them.
my week is slightly thrown as was supposed to have built in wardrobes fitted and had planned round this ) half term) the chippy has cried off two days running and will come next week.
Wish i could be happy just not doing much. Still, yesterday we took down a tree and I managed to find a small second hand chest of drawers . Will go for a walk into town. Trying not to spend any extra money atm as the wardrobes are spendy so pretty well stuck just doing very local things. The weather in constantly atrocious though so not much inclination to go anywhere .

My southern friends and relatives keep moaning about the rain. Based in Manchester, it has seemed no worse (maybe even better?) than usual so I'm not sure whether I'm just used to it or if the south is getting it all this year.

I did glutes and hams day 33 this morning and I think I went too light on the weights as it was pretty easy, so much so when my neighbour asked if I fancied a run at lunchtime I took him up on it.

That's annoying about the wardrobe man. I much prefer the trades who manage their schedules precisely, and if they are likely to move you around, let you know that they might do that instead of just giving you a shit excuse.

samthebordercollie · 19/02/2026 16:22

The rain here in Brittany has been incessant. Fields flooded where they never have been before, it’s getting quite depressing especially for my poor donkeys, goats and hens who are in a permanent bog. I’m about to get on the ferry to Poole and am not looking forward to the drive when we get off, the roads will be flooded in places, I’m sure. Had a great PE quad day workout this morning followed by 45 mins cardio. Just kettlebells and walking for the next few days.

BigButtons · 19/02/2026 18:08

@samthebordercollie I am envious of your animals! How lovely. I am not envious of the big they are standing in. Would they get hoof rot?😬
good luck getting to pool- not so far from me( Lewes) the roads are in a shocking start so watch your tyurws in the pot holes.
@Fibrous if is the endless grey that bothers me more than the rain- even when if is not raining it is dark and grey and fucking depressing ☹️ How is if going with the house?
second day of kettlebells for me. Tried an emom of 20 swings every minute- if wasn’t quite challenging enough- too much rest time so time to dig out that other 16 kg bell. I will need to get some grip tape for the stupid thick handle.I would have found the 12kg bell very challenging years ago so thank you Caroline for the gains!

Yeah the grey got to me when I lived in the city. And the stench of rain on greasy tarmac. I don't mind the rain in the countryside - it feels like it belongs and it smells nice. The muddy paws are a bitch but that's another story.

Yeah that doesn't sound fun for the farmyard menagerie. Poor animals. There were a lot of lambs out early this year around here in the snow and cold and there seemed to be more dead ones than usual. Think the farmers went in too early. Must be hard to get it right with climate change.

The house has gone live today. It looks great as we used the old photos. Now we need to get it looking like that before the first viewing, which will involve DP moving all his shit to his dads house. He's had months to do it - he's been sorting through it all apparently. I figured it would take a live listing to actually put a rocket up his arse. Here's hoping!

Fibrous · 20/02/2026 09:11

Day 34 here this morning, back and biceps. It was ok. I can feel it now. Was going to put it off until later but glad I got it done. Got the dogs out before it started raining, too. Win!

BigButtons · 20/02/2026 12:24

Good job @Fibrous ! It hasn’t rained here yet today but it is very gloomy and overcast.
I did day 35- not a fan if full body days but this was complexes again and I am a fan of rep counting so quite enjoyed this one. Swapped the bridge complex out for 20 kb swings and 10 goblet squats and that was hard to sustain over 3 minutes.

OP posts:
GoneBackToTheWorld · 21/02/2026 20:50

Well done on that! You could also do like an inverted pyramid maybe with rotating bells if you have a range? 50 swings 16kg, 50 with 12kg, 50 with 8kg, then back up the ladder?

It's really hot where I am so am happy with kettlebells + Heather for another week I think. At the stage where it'll be interesting to see what Caroline comes out with after Play is over- her between-program series and one-offs tend to be my favourites.

girlingloucs · 21/02/2026 21:09

Hi, long time lurker on this thread after some advice….

Just about to complete Iron for the third time, 2-3 sessions a week, also working my way very slowly through Epic heat once a week.

Happy to up the weights and repeat Iron again or is there another similar workout that i could start? I don’t have the app and I need the workouts to be 30-40 mins max as I have to squeeze it in very early in the morning. I really like the pace of iron and the opportunity to steadily increase the weight but recognise at some point I may have to move on in order to progress? What I would really like is a gym where I can learn olympic lifts but there’s bugger all near me and I have no childcare……

BigButtons · 22/02/2026 09:43

Hi @girlingloucs ! Many repeat iron over and over for that very reason. I was not a fan if that series personally, but we all like different things. Heat is the other Aries that is about 3 mins in length, epic three comes in at 40-45 mins on average. Those are my two all time favourites of anything she has done before and since.
@Gobacktotheworld2 thanks for the idea! I rescued my 16 kg bell and have some sports strapping for the thick slippery handles. I do have 8/12 bells as well so I will give the pyramid a go!
quad day today and I am not feeling the love . I have done all the sessions in play but not done all of them. I have subbed from the epics for something more interesting but have always done something/ which I am sure Caroline would approve of.🙂

OP posts:
BigButtons · 22/02/2026 18:37

So instead of the all quad day I did heat day 27. I nearly saw my lunch a couple of times and used quite a few expletives.
jesus but that was hard.
not boring though- those 20 seconds don’t give you time to get bored!
managed to use cg weights which was great. Warmed up with some kettle bell swings which deffo helped.
hope you are all having a good Sunday🙂
