Another thread to keep going!

I ran the 5k loop in the opposite direction to Tuesday, but in exactly the same time (to the second).

I had a momentary panic when I got back from my run and noticed that my vision in one eye seemed blurry. It turned out that I had a greasy fingerprint on one lens of my glasses, and once I’d cleaned that off my vision was restored!

🤣🤣 - reminds me of when my dad was so worried about his Collie, limping home, but on closer inspection he had a toffee stuck on his paw.
5 mile walk today 4/100.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 20/09/2024 09:12

Nice to see you back, @Alittlefrustrated!

You are all doing much better than I am. I can’t seem to motivate myself to get up early enough to exercise at the moment, and it’s only going to get worse as the mornings get darker. Well done on the new PBs, @MotherForkinShirtBalls.

T25 Ripped Circuit done. I’m counting this as starting week 4 of Beta again.

Same Professor, I am struggling to 'find time' when in reality there are several 15-30 minute slots in my day where I could fit something in, but even if it's a 1 mile WWL. I managed a 30 minute Nat Hayward band workout today and could tell how quickly my body has become unconditioned. I used to be able to get through one of her workouts pretty easily, but this had me puffing and panting. Definitely need to get back into more regular exercise. I have also noticed a weight increase and general tiredness too. It's amazing how quickly it can all become undone 🙄

Well done on your new PBs Motherforkin! 👏👏👏

Your contact lense story made me chuckle Oubliette 🤣

30 minute swim, before school run. Pool doesn't open until 7.30, hence 30 mins only, but I swim as fast as I can, and it sets me up for the day.

BezMills · 21/09/2024 09:27

yes @Alittlefrustrated those ones that you have to fit in, or more accurately squeeze in, make all the difference!

I did Combat on Thursday, lovely to be back with my regular lot. Lovely Anna Sensei is launching BodyCombat 100 a week tomorrow, so that's going to be great fun.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 21/09/2024 11:45

Excellent that there’s a fun class to look forward to, BezMills, even if ‘fun class’ sounds like an oxymoron to me!

roonetta, I really sympathise- I was very fit at the start of last year after doing Jillian Michaels’ Bodyshred, but then lost motivation and it all went to pot. It was a real struggle to build up fitness again this spring.

T25 dynamic core and a yoga class done.

I went for a sea dip with a friend yesterday. The waves were a lot bigger than we expected so we agreed to a quick dip holding on to the rails. I let go for a second to allow a man pass me coming out and got completely wiped out and dragged along some rocks. Luckily the tide was really high so it wasn't too bad but my knees got fairly scraped up and are a bit black and blue today. So after all that, I took it easy at s&c this morning!

That sounds scary Motherforkin. Glad you are okay 💖

3 mile WWL done ✅

Alittlefrustrated · 21/09/2024 21:15

MotherForkinShirtBalls - I bet your friend got a right fright too! Hope you're OK.
I've had a busy day, but forced myself out in the dark tonight to do an "enthusiastically brisk" 2.5 mile walk. I'm counting it.
6/100.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 22/09/2024 08:44

That sounds very scary, Motherforkin. Hope you’re not too sore today. I went skating with DD for the first time in a month and fell over, so I have a beautiful bruise coming out on my left knee, but at least it’s just the one. Really I ought to think twice about skating at my age - ice is hard!

That walk definitely counts, Alittlefrustrated.

T25 core cardio done. Ugh. It’s the relentlessness of this one that gets to me- there aren’t any moves that I actually can’t do, but it’s incredibly hard to keep going for the whole 25 minutes.

20 mins spin to rehab this calf tear, just did min resistance

roonetta · 22/09/2024 14:50

I'm so impressed with the effort everyone is giving. So inspiring 😍🙌🙌🙌

Nat Hayward strength workout done ☑️

Another brisk walk in the dark - 3 miles. So brisk, I've got quite a sweat on 😂. Please be very careful with your calf spikeandbuffy. Something "popped" in mine at the end of February, I didn't rest enough, and I'm still having problems.

OublietteBravo · 23/09/2024 13:49

A bit over 5k today (I took a longer route back to avoid the big hole dug by UK Power Networks). About 5.4k (I think) in 30min 01sec. My 7th run this month.

Yes, my buddy was much more freaked out than I was. Luckily my knees are fine again except for the scabs and bruises. Hope you're OK after your fall Professor and your calf is healing Buffy.

Run today.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 23/09/2024 20:35

Knee is sore, but the bruise is to the side so not affecting mobility.

T25 upper focus done.

Definitely. I am seeing a physio on Friday so will ask for advice then
Going to stick to upper body weights and keep the spin as basically spinning out my legs with no resistance

I did some calf raises too as they seem to be recommended for rehab

roonetta · 24/09/2024 11:41

Hope your calf heals quickly spikeandbuffy 💖

Run this evening. I really didn't want to go and it was raining but it felt quite good in the end.
