Maintaining the Six Pack Revolution

Pottymouth83 · 07/11/2022 23:23

I’m half way through and getting good results so far - but I’m worried about how I’ll maintain the weight loss once it’s over - especially as my wave finishes just before Christmas!

Those who’ve done it before, how did you find it once you’d finished? I notice a few people tend to come back at a later date to do another wave - the coaches say that’s because it obviously works so well but I wonder if it’s because it’s so hard to maintain!

What I like is it just makes you stick to it, I've done keto, low carb etc but with this I have to stick to these set meal and shakes, no messing about, no interpretation needed and it's just been really easy. I did no exercise before!

I've only lost a few pounds though but they keep saying it's not about weight loss!

BeckyBoo841 · 31/01/2023 13:05

I like that too @cheeseisthebest but I also like the fact it's a bit like having a personal trainer. I feel really spurred on to get fit more than anything!

Nemunoki · 02/02/2023 19:08

Yes I just can’t do without the salt, I’ve been using the tiniest amount… anyone else??

Rocketpants50 · 02/02/2023 21:38

I have managed not to eat the chocolate biscuits, not have any alcohol, but oh I need that bit of salt and a little dash of milk in my tea. Have dropped my tea consumption from about 6+ cups though to 2 a day.

Cherryana · 03/02/2023 19:18

So how are your pics looking? I look exactly the same but I do feel better and am sleeping better. I am trying to look on the bright side but weight loss is what I want. I even got on the scales -do not do that!! And I am 2 and a half pounds heavier than when I started….

Cherryana · 03/02/2023 20:58

I have just compared my picture tonight with my starting photo and I don’t look the same. My face looks slimmer and so does my belly. I was quite surprised and happy about that despite the scale blues this morning.

BeckyBoo841 · 04/02/2023 04:12

Hey @Cherryana I'm sure this is why they say not to weigh yourself! I have of course, and I've lost a little, but the shock to me was my photo too - definitely a big difference between starting and almost 3 weeks later. I figure just got to keep going and get to the end. I had almost no muscle when I started this, so if I only lose a a few kg in the end, but am smaller and stronger that is a big win!

cheeseisthebest · 05/02/2023 10:31

Yes I can definitely see a difference in my photos now, my husband has said my face looks a lot slimmer. I have lost some weight, maybe 6lb?

Yup im having milk in my tea and coffee, if I didn't do that I would end up on some mass rebellion and sugar binge! I have one tea a day and one coffee.
We will get some new recipes soon although I've been quite boring and not varied what I'm eating much.

Cherryana · 05/02/2023 18:43

That’s great news. It’s very motivating when you see changes.

I am also having a coffee with milk a day.
I had the gogi berry curry tonight with chicken and not gogi berries and it was excellent.

Rocketpants50 · 05/02/2023 20:04

I lost 4 pounds first week, now think its all gone back on.
Went to a very nice pub today for lunch for a birthday celebration - there was nothing on menu that would even faintly resemble anything in plan so went with the lowest calories option going, dudnt enjoy it and ended up having to ha e a sorbet for afters to get rid if taste so definitely back on it tomorrow as feel bloated and horrible tonight.

Will do photos in morning- bit slack but hoping photos tell a different story.

cheeseisthebest · 06/02/2023 20:15

I'm ill, full of a stinking cold and feeling bit gutted I can't do the exercise!

BeckyBoo841 · 07/02/2023 06:52

Saaaaame @cheeseisthebest :-( I feel rubbish. Common cold I think. And just when I was about to do the mega rope challange!

cheeseisthebest · 07/02/2023 09:32

Yep, I've not done that one or the previous challenge, I've not done anything since Friday. Hopefully can get back to it tomorrow.

Rocketpants50 · 17/02/2023 21:10

How is everyone doing? Can't believe I am sticking to it - never been this good before (though did sneak a gin the other night then felt enormously guilty!). Just wished all the hard work was showing. 5 weeks only lost 7pounds - though am hoping I am building muscle and def changed shape. My six pack is more like a six pack of beer belly with really no difference in photos. But keeping going hoping that I wake one morning and it's magically gone!

Cherryana · 18/02/2023 18:03

You have lost 7lbs you are so lucky!! I have been super strict, doing it perfectly and I have lost …drum roll 3/4 of a lb.

I don’t look exactly the same, and I have said before there have been other benefits eg sleep, feeling calmer, lighter periods.

But I can’t believe my body.. It’s a lot of effort…

cheeseisthebest · 18/02/2023 21:21

Ive lost about 8lb but I've completely lost motivation to exercise, really need to get back on it.

BeckyBoo841 · 19/02/2023 05:05

I've lost around 6-8 pounds, it fluctuates... but feeling good and looking forward to getting to halfway, think I'll get another burst of motivation when I know the countdown is on. I have strayed maybe 3 or 4 times lately - a small square of chocolate and a glass of prosecco, but never anything more than that. It's out of boredom mostly.

I have been reading as much as I can on what comes next (very hard to find information out there!) and I think we get squeezed a bit in the final month and thats when the weight starts to really drop. (less carbs, none at all on the last 3 days!)

BeckyBoo841 · 19/02/2023 05:07

When I imagine my last so-called diet - sheer willpower, white-knuckling, fasting, keto etc etc etc... I have to say this, while it may be slow and steady, has rarely left me wanting. And for me, that's more important!!

BeckyBoo841 · 19/02/2023 05:08

Finally, I couldn't run because of knee issues etc before I started this and yesterday I ran 4k. That is such a win for me, as an ex-runner, I can't tell you.

cheeseisthebest · 19/02/2023 09:21

The last 3 days your water intake is restricted and you eat 6 stir fries each day and thr exercise ramps up. My husband did it last year.

Thats great about the running!

Rocketpants50 · 20/02/2023 09:14

Glad it's not only me - was thinking maybe I was the one it doesn't work for!

I find it all very serious - wish the fb group was a little bit more light hearted at times . Definitely no joking allowed! So I don't post anymore as was constantly getting told off!

Am going to keep going though.

Last 3 days seem slightly intense - eeek.

cheeseisthebest · 20/02/2023 12:57

Haha yeh I posted a massive chocolate cake my daughter made and said argh help it's very tempting and I got told off! Only meant to be a bit of fun!

Pottymouth83 · 20/02/2023 13:06

Hang on in there, I am sure you will see a difference at the end - it’s just some people notice a change quicker than others!
The last 3 days - it’s not actually stir fries you have to eat, but it is just lean protein, green veg and healthy fats - nothing else at all. And your water only reduces to 2 litres so it’s not like you’re going to dehydrate. You don’t have to do the last 3 days food plan though - they do make it very clear that it’s just to make you as lean as possible for your photos. There’s no obligation!

@Rocketpants50 it’s a shame your group is a bit humourless - just luck of the draw who you get, I think!

cheeseisthebest · 20/02/2023 14:33

Ah thanks I thought I probably had that wrong, I just remembered my husband making lots of little stir fries with things like tuna steaks.

Pottymouth83 · 20/02/2023 15:26

@cheeseisthebest I think stir fries are probably the most interesting thing you can make with those limited ingredients, to be fair!
