Maintaining the Six Pack Revolution

I’m half way through and getting good results so far - but I’m worried about how I’ll maintain the weight loss once it’s over - especially as my wave finishes just before Christmas!

Those who’ve done it before, how did you find it once you’d finished? I notice a few people tend to come back at a later date to do another wave - the coaches say that’s because it obviously works so well but I wonder if it’s because it’s so hard to maintain!

Is it portion-controlled, though, eat exactly these items, these recipes, & nothing else?

cheeseisthebest · 04/01/2023 22:42

I'm not actually sure! Get the info sent through on Sunday.

SummerLightning · 05/01/2023 07:25

It's eat from specific recipes though you can make plain alternatives such as just plain chicken with veggies, etc.
So yes it's pretty much portion controlled.
You can do any extra exercise you like

cheeseisthebest · 05/01/2023 16:50

Is dairy allowed at all?

lljkk · 05/01/2023 19:43

Ooh, that's good about alternatives. I thought a lot of the recipes, it would be difficult to get ingredients.

SummerLightning · 05/01/2023 19:48

@cheeseisthebest only Greek yoghurt I think

cheeseisthebest · 05/01/2023 21:40

Thank you.

Madamecastafiore · 05/01/2023 22:06

You don't, you go back eating normally and exercising less and have to do it all over again. Amazing business model!

There is a really good Q&A on their Facebook page!

cheeseisthebest · 06/01/2023 21:56

Thank you.

lljkk · 07/01/2023 17:26

I'm listening to the Facebook FAQ.

No milk products, no sugar, no gluten, virtually no sweeteners.
Must buy battle ropes & probably a battle ropes anchor.

can sub exercise... so I guess swimming could sub for the running (I have a foot issue right now so wouldn't want to run).

What happens if you can't do a plank properly?
I didn't hear that question asked (I have shoulder issues, too).
Think he's up for modification as requested.

200 kcal meal replacement shakes? 30 servings for £38.

5 packs (MRs) to complete whole programme, + 1 post-work out (so 6 x £38).
They want a certain protein hit per snack, so can make own with own protein powder (no idea if this would be cheaper, tastier).

Or batch-cooking to make the recipes viable. I don't even have a big enough freezer... They "recommend" a lot of supplements that they sell, too. "90% of the results" come from the meal plan, not the exercise programme.

Overnight oats (they add lots protein powder to this) & Mg... ? Eek, cold porridge = horrible. I wonder if one can heat it, or must be consumed cold, shudder.

I don't think he said what the daily protein intake is supposed to be, but I'm suspecting 80-100g/day for women.

"This programme is about vanity" : that might be why it's not for me, lol.

Would be a big commitment to get that meal plan right, so much forward planning before even started.

SummerLightning · 07/01/2023 17:40

When I did it I didn't have supplements or massively batch cook. Just took easy cooking options and a lot of yoghurt and fruit and nuts as snacks.
I do wfh though which makes it easier.
On the exercises they will really help you and spend time with you to help you adjust.
I didn't think it's about vanity? Not heard that before. The ads are for sure about vanity though.
The food is quite pricey though imo. Unless you are organized make cheap options such as tuna or chick peas, etc!
They don't tell you protein amounts but it definitely protein heavy.

SummerLightning · 07/01/2023 17:41

I didn't have the porridge as I don't like it but I'm sure you could heat it!

lljkk · 07/01/2023 18:45

I've come to conclusion I could only do this programme if I lived alone & cleared all the temptation foods out of house completely, plus didn't have people around me ever eating them. Plus I'd try hard to avoid restaurants & even the FAQ said "don't do this programme when you have a holiday planned." I would miss cream & carbs too much.

Isn’t that true of healthy eating/exercise in general though? You can’t just do it for a limited time then go back to eating cake and sitting on the sofa and expect to keep the weight off and maintain your fitness?

Pottymouth83 · 11/01/2023 12:55

To answer an earlier question, you don’t count calories at all. You stick to 3x snacks and 3 x meals a day and they all have to be recipes from the meal plan (although they tell you how you can adapt them to suit your tastes - swaps, etc).

OP posts:
Madamecastafiore · 11/01/2023 13:02

Pottymouth83 well you can keep doing it and messing up your metabolism or you can just exercise routinely and watch what you eat most of the time. The problem with doing diets and exercise regimes like this is each time you will need to cut the number of calories you consume to lose weight.

lljkk · 11/01/2023 17:34

Can you increase or decrease the portions, or delay the timing of snacks/meals? Something on video said was "Eat at this point even if you don't feel like it."

Yes of course but I think the main reason people do programmes like these is because they’re not watching what they eat in the first place.

Also I would argue this has massively improved my metabolism.

I guess, @Madamecastafiore some people need to lose weight and enjoy a fitness challenge. I actually don't think they charge too much for what you get. This is the first program I've seen where the eating plan seems like 'too much' food rather than too little, and the fitness is plan is pretty straight forward.

I'm excited to get started. We kick off on Monday.

cheeseisthebest · 19/01/2023 17:23

How are you getting on @BeckyBoo841 ?
I'm finding it quite good!

Cherryana · 19/01/2023 17:52

I’m doing it right now too!!

cheeseisthebest · 19/01/2023 18:07

How are you finding it? We could be in the same group! I like the structure of it and I've definitely lost weight already.

Cherryana · 19/01/2023 22:59

Yes I really like it. I needed a boost of positivity- that you get from the group.

The inflammation in my fingers has gone away already and I have dropped some bloat. Really felt happy after the exercise too. I just needed to be told what to do because I was in a dieting spin!!

Have you done it before? How did you hear about it? I’m

Cherryana · 19/01/2023 22:59

I’m glad to have found it!
