Maintaining the Six Pack Revolution

I’m half way through and getting good results so far - but I’m worried about how I’ll maintain the weight loss once it’s over - especially as my wave finishes just before Christmas!

Those who’ve done it before, how did you find it once you’d finished? I notice a few people tend to come back at a later date to do another wave - the coaches say that’s because it obviously works so well but I wonder if it’s because it’s so hard to maintain!

I knew someone who had done it when said they felt amazing!

BeckyBoo841 · 20/01/2023 16:06

I'm at the end of day 5 and feeling pretty terrific. (I'm in Sig Group 4 BTW). I have never eaten so much healthy food and I even did a sneaky weigh yesterday and was floored to see that I'd lost 2kg. I feel very bad saying this as we're not supposed to weigh ourselves. (Don't tell those coaches!)

I was SURE that I was gaining weight with all that food so it was a bit of a surprise. (could be the sudden lack of salt?).

Anyway, I have been glued to my scales in an unhealthy way for most of my life and I feel like it might be time to toss them.

BeckyBoo841 · 20/01/2023 16:07

I should add that I'm not actually there to lose weight, but rather to get fit and strong primarily, but yeah - I'd love to shift the extra 10kg I've gained in the last few years.

ShellsOnTheBeach · 20/01/2023 16:51

How much are you all paying for this?

Just wondering whether intermittent fasting coupled with a Mediterranean diet, plus a daily dose of Growingannanas and Caroline Girvan (all free!) wouldn't achieve the same.

www.eatingwell.com/gallery/8025586/mediterranean-diet-dinners-for-weight-loss/

Works for me and I'd highly recommend it as it's both life-changing and healthy.

lljkk · 20/01/2023 17:18

I'm nosy Shells so just curiously following these threads.
There is sign up fee for programme, not too dear, maybe £170.
Then purchase of products like
battle ropes (£25 or so?)
protein shakes (? £39 for full course worth?)
I don't know if business model has other expenses, maybe supplements?

redavocado · 20/01/2023 17:59

Prices are online but it's 100% not IF. It's eating small low/medium GI meals, so little and often. Totally doable without their shakes (though I find them handy) and also without ropes (despite what they say!) though access to weights or a gym is handy.

I'm intensive group one and loving it! It's my second wave and I'm already down a few lb after a sneaky weigh in. I feel better in myself, more focussed, less anxious and I'm sleeping better.

BeckyBoo841 · 20/01/2023 18:25

I had an eating disorder so I find Intermittent fasting incredibly triggering and dangerous. But it's great that it works for you. I love the food on the program, it's healthy and easy and there's lots of variety and I'm always full. The cost of SPR isn't prohibitive for me, I bought the membership and £30 amazon battle ropes.

Some people find eating healthy and doing exercise easier when there is a group activity, so youtube videos are great, but this is far more motivating. Youtube videos don't send you a PM if you miss a workout.

I'm waiting for the sleeping to improve!!

cheeseisthebest · 20/01/2023 19:27

I love the food, I've not done my exercise today so today will have to be my rest day. The days I've done exercise I've slept so well. Just off to do ny photo!

Cherryana · 20/01/2023 19:44

The food is amazing. The chicken madras is so good and so simple. I also made a spicy mint sauce and it was so good!!

Rocketpants50 · 20/01/2023 21:51

I to am on the Jan wave. Seem to be eating a lot of yogurt - which I like. I made up a huge chilli last weekend and the bean recipe with mushrooms, which I normally hate but chopped up small and it was really lovely. Kept me going most of week and def made life a bit easier.

Some nights I just have a bit of chicken and some veg/ salad / beans.

Finding all the info a bit overload but hoping I am now on track. I too stood on scales!

cheeseisthebest · 21/01/2023 20:20

I am so full today, got up later as weekend and really struggled to fit it all in. How is everyone finding the exercise?

Cherryana · 21/01/2023 20:46

I have arthritis and am waiting for a hip replacement so the exercise is a challenge because moving is a challenge!! I have found it easily modifiable and am glad for it for my head to have a manageable structure.

Rocketpants50 · 21/01/2023 20:46

Had to do dailies, abs and the challenge today. Didn't like those step ups!

Not sure I can run 3km non stop though, maybe 1km!

BeckyBoo841 · 22/01/2023 05:11

I'm loving it! The exercise is really challenging but I'm enjoying pushing myself. I too am overwhelmed by the amount of food. I've ordered the meal replacements because I cannot be bothered to do all this cooking and prep work!!

BeckyBoo841 · 22/01/2023 06:08

@SummerLightning @Pottymouth83

Question for you! Does the food change at all? It's SO MUCH FOOD. I'm struggling - any tips?

Rocketpants50 · 22/01/2023 08:29

Yep, there is so much food but I am sticking to yogurt and fruit for snack and just some chicken/ fish and adding some veg and a bit of fat does me. Will probably bulk cook the white bean recipe today for lunch every day this week.

SummerLightning · 22/01/2023 15:25

It changes but it didn't get less! I didn't find it too much food. I like eating! and the portions are pretty small

Cherryana · 22/01/2023 21:17

I think the portions are small too. I follow shake, snack, meal, shake, meal, snack structure. With batch cooking its fine, otherwise I think it would be a bit much cooking.

The food amounts stay the same - I, like you, really struggled the first couple of weeks or so - I felt like I was forcing the food down and that it was a ridiculous amount to eat in a day. BUT honestly, your metabolism completely changes - it will speed up and you will really, really want the food. Don’t be tempted to skip any meals or snacks, you won’t be helping yourself!!!

OP posts:
redavocado · 23/01/2023 10:35

I'm just tucking into a snack that includes THREE eggs. I don't think the portions can be described as small.

SummerLightning · 23/01/2023 14:45

I do find it a bit weird that some snacks have 3 eggs yet yogurt and berries is 3 spoons yogurt, small number of nuts and berries. I do wonder if you did 3 of the egg snacks a day if you'd lose weight! But even so if you're talking calories don't eggs have about 80 calories so still only talking about 240 cal (the rest of the snacks with eggs usually minimal cals)

redavocado · 23/01/2023 15:50

I've wondered that too, especially because the egg avonnaise is three eggs and half an avo. You can't possibly lose weight eating that 2-3 times a day plus three other meals!

SummerLightning · 23/01/2023 16:24

Yes the avonnaise is MASSIVE

cheeseisthebest · 23/01/2023 18:17

Today I've had one meal, 2 MR shakes, one snack now a meal for dinner and snack before bed. But someone's just saying on my group the shakes count as a meal so that means I'm having 4 meals which is wrong isn't it? I'm so confused.

Yep that step up challenge was way harder than it looked!
