10k run this morning and Epic rest day. Had to run early this morning as had to take DS1 to a tournament at 8.45am so wasn't my best time but I got out there 💪

My DH wants to invest in a running machine. Any suggestions on make/models greatly received.

Epic Heat day 18 - chest and abs and 3 mile run.

Legs still feel a bit achy after yesterday's workout.

Also - do any of you do anything special with your nutrition to maximise the benefits of your workouts? I am experimenting by having a protein shake straight after my workout to see if it makes any difference to the muscle I build - my arms are quite toned but not as defined as I would like considering that I do strength training 5 times a week!

Maybe I just need to burn more fat to uncover them Confused

Sorry Algon I have no answer I’m afraid but am interested to hear what others have to say, although I’m probably not disciplined enough to follow through with proper nutrition Blush

I feel like my arms should be much more lean than they are after 18 months of working out. I think my muscles are also hidden under the fat Grin.

There’s a JM fb group - which she posts on - and someone asked this yesterday. I think the answer from the lady herself was not to think too much about it but that working out on an empty stomach (I.e. after fasting) means you won’t be working out as effectively so not to do that. I should go back to clarify.

L&S done. Have looked at epic heat since getting back but haven’t started it.

Sadly roonetta I think you are right about them being there but well hidden!

Interesting about not working out on an empty stomach grated - I thought that was the ultimate way to fat burn! I usually do my workouts in the morning before eating....maybe that's the problem, although i am not a fan of working out on a full stomach to be honest so wouldn't try to eat breakfast beforehand.

I thought that too, Algon. I need a couple of hours between eating and running so if I run early in the morning I have to go on an empty stomach.

I’m ashamed to say I have had 4 rest days, although I did walk to and from the office yesterday so I moved myself a bit Blush. My time seems to run away with me at the weekends now that things are returning to normal. I will try to get my workouts done first thing at the weekend and see if that helps.

Feeling a bit rubbish today as I weighed for the first time in a while and have put on 6lbs!! I have been guilty of less workouts and more food intake so I know what is causing the problem. Doesn’t make me feel any better about it though. So no excuses, I will be pushing myself this week, and have started as I mean to go on today, getting my workout done first thing. Epic Heat day 18 done. Didn’t feel like this one did much for me, but I will try and do an extra long WWL later. I wonder if leaving out the HIIT workouts is also having an impact Hmm. I just really hate them.

Also did a 4 mile WWL yesterday.

Today I did Caroline Girvan 500 rep shoulder challenge which I enjoyed and a 3 mile WWL. Have made better food choices too, so hopefully the extra pounds will just be a blip Grin

I haven’t managed to start epic heat or do JM for a while - have just been keeping up with runs every few days because we’ve had lots of family reunions (and meals!) going on here. I’m not weighing for a while!

3 rests days crept in again Blush. Not sure what is wrong with my motivation at present, but decided to do Body Revolution workout 1 today but with heavier weights. I might continue to do the BR programme, but just doing the consecutive workouts each day, rather than going through the phases. I will also add in some Girvan arms throughout the week and maybe some WWL to make up for my slacking.

Well done roonetta, you’ve certainly had more motivation than I have lately!

I’m back on it now. I’ve kept up with running but slacked on other workouts as it got too difficult with the DC at home and various trips away etc.

Lift and Shred done today after a run.

Hi - how is everyone doing?

I’m still doing BR. Starting Week 11 and 12 this week which will take me up to the end of the month. Alternating the workouts with 6W6P and Lift and Shred to avoid the Cardio videos which I hate!

Yesterday for a change I did Caroline Girvan’s full body dumb bell workout. Feeling quite sore today even though I only used 6kg weights compared to her 15s!! She’s a machine! I quite enjoyed it but kind of missed Jillian shouting at me.

Has anyone here done Killer Body? I’m thinking of starting that in October, maybe alternating with The Shred. X
