My legs are still so sore from Epic Heat day 1 that I substituted day 3 (also legs) with day 6 (chest and triceps) Blush. Must admit to finding Epic Heat tough, but liking the shorter workouts.

Just a run today. Considered doing a workout as usual while the children were having ‘quiet time’ but decided to do something more relaxing instead!

gratedbeetroot · 28/07/2021 21:04

Hope your legs have recovered roonetta!

roonetta · 29/07/2021 19:33

Legs much better thanks Beetroot Smile

Glad to hear it.

I did NMTZ today.

3 lazy rest days Blush - must do better next week

I did L&S on Friday but then had two rest days this weekend roonetta!

My heart rate has become too low in the evenings recently (on BP monitor and oximeter) so I need to get checked out. Has been as low as 40 and is usually below 50. So I will take it easy this week.

roonetta · 02/08/2021 19:13

Good idea taking it easy until you get checked out Beetroot. Maybe the equipment isn’t accurate but best to get it checked.

Epic Heat day 7 leg day done ☑️

gratedbeetroot · 02/08/2021 19:41

It’s often 53 during the day and I’ve been worried about that for a while but below 50 on two other devices with an alarm going off on one (!) means it’s time to get checked! I’m having an ECG and bloods taken, hopefully it will be fine and the results will just reassure me.

I will do L&S with lightish weights in the meantime, and maybe toning workouts rather than cardio. Although my heart rate is fine when exercising.

roonetta · 03/08/2021 13:46

Good luck with the tests. You are very active so hopefully the results will be reassuring Flowers

Thanks, fingers crossed Smile . I am active but by no means an athlete in which case it would be ok! I run but it doesn’t come naturally and I still find it challenging.

roonetta · 05/08/2021 14:53

Rest day yesterday. Epic Heat day 32 today. I am picking and choosing workouts by how I feel on the day. Couldn’t face a leg workout today so chose an upper body one. I will also miss out any of the HIIT/Tabata /EMOM because I really hate them. Maybe once my motivation returns, I will get back to doing it properly Grin

Hi everyone
Sorry I’ve been quiet on here lately. Still trucking on with Body Revolution, on Workout 5 and 6 this week. Still loathing cardio days so swapping them out a lot with Lift and Shred and 6W6P.

Definitely noticing a difference in my body shape lately. Toned arms and legs (my thighs have never been this toned) and the emergence of a six pack. Thank you Jillian!!

AlgonquinBay · 06/08/2021 07:49

Hi everyone!!

I haven't posted in a while due to holidays etc but getting right back on it now!

I'm up to Day 9 of Epic Heat - really enjoying it, but I think that may be because it's a lot easier than Epic??? It's shorter anyway! Maybe I should have gone for Epic 2, not sure but I'll stick with it now.

Sounds like you are doing great on BR @Wineloffa and great to hear that you are seeing good results, yay

How are you finding Epic Heat compared to the other Epics @roonetta ?

roonetta · 08/08/2021 08:17

Hi Wineloffa and Algon! Glad to see you are still working hard. Noticing your body changing for the better is great isn’t it? Well done!

I am the opposite to you Algon in that I am finding Epic Heat more difficult, I think because it is faster paced. Embarrassed to say I like the longer breaks in between each exercise Blush. I am also not doing the programme properly and am picking and choosing what to do depending on how I feel each day, and completely missing out the HIIT/tabata/EMOM because like Wineloffa I loathe the cardio days. I am also much more sore with Heat so am having more rest days. I wonder whether it’s because I can put more effort in because it’s shorter? The Epic 2 workouts seemed to get longer and longer and I found it difficult to fit them in, so will keep on with Heat for now and maybe mix in some of the weekly workouts she has been doing because they are also shorter.

Forgot to add my exercise for yesterday. Epic Heat day 9 followed by a WWL.

Hi @roonetta!

Following all these Caroline Girvan chats with interest as I’m considering doing Epic once I finish Body Revolution!

I’ve decided to totally ditch the BR cardio days and swapping them for 6W6P and Lift and Shred instead.

Yesterday I did BR WO6 and Yoga Inferno L1. This morning I’m going to do 6W6P L1 and Yoga Inferno L2.

Have a great Sunday everyone! X

gratedbeetroot · 09/08/2021 23:00

Good to hear from you all.

I’m tempted to try Epic Heat. Can’t do the longer Epic workouts daily until the DC are back at school.

roonetta · 10/08/2021 08:08

I think you will love Epic ladies. It is much slower paced than Jillian, which means my form is better. I have stopped seeing weight loss results though and can feel my trousers beginning to get snug again Confused. Not sure if that’s because I am building more muscle, or because I am doing much less cardio. I am going to start adding in some Walks with Leslie to up my step count. Hopefully this will help. Epic Heat gets my heart rate up more than 1 and 2 if that helps you decide.

Got my workout in early today. Epic Heat day 32 upper body. Had a rest day yesterday as was in the office. Now it is getting back to normal, it meant I didn’t get a parking space, so back to walking in. My Fitbit logged it as exercise, so I will count it (otherwise I don’t think I will reach my target - all these rest days are adding up!).

Epic Heat day 12 done here and then off for a run later. Today was an Opposing Arms dumbell workout - I really enjoyed it actually, hard work but much less painful than yesterday's glute activation Blush

I also think you will enjoy Epic, especially if the Cardio days aren't really your thing.

roonetta · 11/08/2021 13:36

Epic Heat day 11, glutes and hamstrings, plus a WWL

AlgonquinBay · 12/08/2021 11:48

Epic day 13 - this was an ISO/PLYO legs workout.

To be honest I didn't really enjoy this one - I didn't feel it worked me that hard, yet some of the exercises felt impossible (I'm looking at you glute bridge jumps!). My Apple Watch only registered about 4 minutes of it as a workout to add insult to injury (not sure if this is a watch issue or not)..

Might go for a run later to make up for it if it cools down a bit - too hot at the moment!

roonetta · 12/08/2021 12:30

I think ISO workouts are deceiving Algon. You will probably feel it tomorrow Grin. I know what you mean about feeling annoyed when your watch doesn’t log things properly. Sometimes my Fitbit doesn’t register a workout at all which is so frustrating.

I did Epic Heat day 12 today and enjoyed it too Algon. I love upper body workouts because I hate my arms so anything that can make them look better is a winner.

gratedbeetroot · 12/08/2021 20:57

My Fitbit doesn’t register L&S so I set it to register it as a ‘weights’ workout when I start as I feel hard done by otherwise!

Just a run, L&S and a bit of callanetics here over the past few days. I will try Epic heat but I’m away for a few days now. Will try to run while away if I can get my bearings.

AlgonquinBay · 13/08/2021 11:29

Day 14 of Epic Heat here today - quite a bit longer than the usual 30 minutes I might add too, full body workout with some abs too, which makes a change! Hate those squats where you have to lean on the wall but apart from that - all good!

I much prefer the upper body workouts too roonetta as I like to get a bit of definition on my otherwise flabby arms!!
