Cardio 3 done - must make sure to time a run for the next cardio day! I’ve noticed that my heart rate gets much higher doing runs than doing home workouts, even when really going for it.

Ended up doing both my run and WO12 before lunch yesterday because some cloud cover appeared which made it more pleasant.

I weighed for the first time in over a week and I’ve lost another couple of pounds. I’m eating a bit more which strangely might be helping.

Wineloffa · 03/07/2021 11:45

Hi Everyone

Sorry I’ve been so quiet on here for a while! I started a new full-time job and went to visit family for a few days last week so I’ve been busy!

Still managing to Jillian every morning though! I’m now almost finished Week 1 of Body Revolution which is ok so far. Workout 1 and 2 are not that challenging and I’m not loving the cardio days!! But I guess it will get better so I intend to stick with it.

This morning I did Cardio 2 followed by Yoga Inferno L2 which felt like a really good workout.

Hoping to get away on holidays next week (depending on how things go with Delta) so plan on ramping up my exercise between now and then as probably the only exercise I’ll be doing on holiday is walking! I’m sure I’ll be glad of the break though.

Hope you are all keeping well. Glad to see you are all still plugging away!!

X

gratedbeetroot · 05/07/2021 12:28

Congratulations on the new job, wineloffa!

Don’t worry, BR will step up in a few weeks.

Fingers crossed you get away on your holiday. We have nothing planned so it’s going to be a long 7 weeks with the children off school (inset days have been added to the end and start of term). Hope we escape isolation for the last two weeks of term as rates are going up significantly here now.

30 minute run and WO12 done this morning, feeling great!

Wineloffa · 05/07/2021 13:27

Thanks @gratedbeetroot! It’s only a temporary internal secondment but I’m enjoying the change and the extra money is nice too..

Rates are going up a around here too which is worrying. We have to take tests in the airport on arrival and if any of us test positive, we have to isolate for 10 days in our hotel room. Feeling really nervous about that!! Hope you guys escape having to self-isolate - way to ruin the summer break!!

This morning I did Workout 1 of BR and Yoga Meltdown L2.

roonetta · 05/07/2021 14:07

Well done on the weight loss Beetroot - it's always good to see the scales going in the right direction. Talking of isolation, I got the dreaded email that my DS was a close contact of someone at school who tested positive. He is off for 10 days now, so that means only 1 more week in school before the holidays Sad. We have been really lucky that this is the first time either of my DC have had to isolate so I can't complain really. I am with you that it is going to be a long 6 weeks. We don't have anything booked and they are both of an age now where they don't want to do much. Dreading it.

Nice to see you back Wineloffa. Great news about the job. Extra money is always welcome Grin. Nerve-racking that you have to test at the airport. Can you all do a lateral flow before you go, just so there are no nasty surprises? Where are you going (if you don't mind me asking! Don't feel obliged to answer!).

Did an hour's WWL yesterday which got me sweaty and out of breath, so I will count that one. Epic 2 day 43, push up workout. I did better than I thought I would. 23 different types of push ups x 2. I did most on my toes, although there were some where I modified with normal ones instead of the ones she did; archer/skull crusher. I was quite pleased with myself.

In fact I did WO11, not 12 today.

Glad you’re enjoying it wineloffa, extra money is always a bonus.
Fingers crossed for you, that would make me nervous too.

Thanks roonetta, I was worrying about hormonal imbalances etc for a while so it’s a relief to see movement on the scales.

Ah no, sorry to hear about your DS’s isolation - nightmare! We’ve been very lucky so far too so it feels like it’s only a matter of time. I hope it goes quickly for you. At least he’ll still get some time in school before the end of term - I’d hate for them to have to isolate within the last 10 days and have an abrupt end to the year.

What’s WWL?

And 23 types of push up?! Shock Well done!

Wineloffa · 05/07/2021 19:11

Well done on the weight loss @gratedbeetroot! I actually lost a few pounds by the end of Ri30 but when I jumped on the scales this morning after week one of BR, I’d actually put on 2 pounds! This might have to do with all the wine and crisps I had my with my sister last weekend. Grin

@roonetta we’re heading to Jersey. Fingers crossed it all goes ok.

gratedbeetroot · 06/07/2021 11:12

Grin thank you Wineloffa.

WO12 done today. So close to the end! Might create a timetable ready for next week.

Wineloffa · 06/07/2021 13:59

Brilliant @gratedbeetroot! Do let us know what you plan on doing next.

roonetta · 06/07/2021 14:20

Well done Beetroot! A great achievement Star.

WWL is Walking with Leslie which is a walking workout. Leslie is really annoying but I like the less crazy pace and it is gentler on my knees Grin. I used to do it instead of Jillian’s cardio when it got too much for my knees. It also burns a surprising amount of calories.

I have never been to Jersey Wineloffa. I would imagine Covid is almost non-existent there, which in itself will be lovely 😊

Epic 2 day 44 abs and glutes workout. This dragged on and on, with hardly any rests. Not my favourite, but at least it’s done.

gratedbeetroot · 07/07/2021 11:27

Thank you!

To start off I’m thinking of lift and shred twice a week, six week six pack (level 2) twice a week and no more trouble zones twice a week. For a few weeks. With my runs on top. And callenetics in there somewhere too. I’ll swap NMTZ and 6W6P for different DVDs after that.

Early morning run done today, in the drizzle but it was lovely.

Wineloffa · 07/07/2021 13:54

@roonetta we’ve been before and it’s a lovely place. Looking forward to getting away from our house for a week!

@gratedbeetroot your plan sounds good! What’s NMTZ like??

Queuing4Fergs · 07/07/2021 13:55

Finished Body Revolution! Went hard and finished string as my heart rate shows Angry

About to go on a call so will be back later to celebrate others' achievements

Still crushing it with Jillian 2021
gratedbeetroot · 07/07/2021 14:14

Congratulations Queuing! Star Did you do lots of jumping around to celebrate afterwards?

My heart rate peaks at 180 when running Shock but that’s my maximum heart rate and it’s really hilly where I live (it reaches that when going uphill) so I try not to worry about it too much. I have a resting heart rate of 53 on average though which makes it seem worse.

Wineloffa, I haven’t done NMTZ for 9 years so I can’t remember Grin I just remember enjoying it and there were some exercises not on the other workouts (at the time) which worked well. NMTZ is around 50 minutes though - I prefer the length of the BR workouts.

roonetta · 07/07/2021 14:18

Wow beetroot that’s a lot of exercise! I’m exhausted just looking at the list 😮. You will do it though, because you’ve got the grit and determination. Go you! Star

Well done Queuing! Impressive stats, you must have been sweaty! What’s next for you?

Epic 2 day 45 full body dumbbell workout done.

Queuing4Fergs · 07/07/2021 19:48

My max hear rate was 182 and my resting with a glass of wine rate, is 62.

There was definitely no jumping around upon completion. A feeble fist in the air was all I could manage before I collapsed in front of the fan! So, so pleased I completed it. Really proud of myself actually, though there were still moved I just couldn't do (wheel push ups) and ones where I don't think I ever got the form right (bear crawls, leg lifts using the cable). Nonetheless, I did it. Tomorrow will be a weigh in and progress pics so I'm looking forward to recording how I got on.

Tomorrow I'm doing NMTZ and Friday will be BFBT (urgh) then that's it till I return from my week's holiday. Both longer workouts but a nice way to finish off this pre-holiday period. I can't remember much of NMTZ as haven't done it since last summer, but vaguely remember the triceps circuit is a killer.

beetroot I'm in awe of your planned programme and obviously determination. Go you!

wineloffa welcome to Body Revolution! I hated Cardio 1, it was just so dull. I preferred Cardio 2 to Cardio 3 which was all over the place, but I think on the whole, Jillian really let herself down on the cardio workouts for this programme. Just too repetitive. Have a wonderful time in Jersey - I'd be all over the fudge!

roonetta as always your commitment is really inspiring. How do you make dumbells 'full body'? I guess lots of weighted squats?

gratedbeetroot · 07/07/2021 22:06

That’s reassuring. Actually my max should be slightly under 180 because I forget how old I am now!

You should be proud, Queuing! I can’t do the wheel push ups properly either (still a bridge in my mind!). I am interested to hear how much difference your progress pictures show! I hate pictures of myself but I did take one a few months back, I’ll have to see if I can find it and take another to compare.

Queuing4Fergs · 08/07/2021 17:30

NMTZ today. Wowsers, forgot that it's quite a challenging workout and completely blanked out the first killer core circuit. I am going to feel every single muscle tomorrow! She does the whole thing using the same weights - 3lb I think, so about 1.5kg - and some bits were definitely too easy with that weight so I varied between 1.5, 2.5, 3 and 4kg. But the transitions were very fast so not much time for faffing about.

So tomorrow its BFBM which I am NOT looking forward to, but will reward myself with a pedicure afterwards - before the punishment of packing for holiday/realising half the kids' clothes are dirty/too small/missing, and trying to anticipate what the most suitable clothes will be. I fear I'll have to pack for all weather's and temperatures!

gratedbeetroot · 08/07/2021 21:58

I’m quite looking forward to NMTZ! Will get all the weights out then.

Good luck with the packing! It’s really difficult when you have to pack for all weathers.

WO11 done today. WO12 tomorrow. I might skip cardio 3 on Saturday, ending BR tomorrow, and do another dvd instead. I hate the repetitiveness. Seeing as my tick chart incorrectly says I should be doing another week anyway.

roonetta · 09/07/2021 13:42

Did another WWL today instead of Epic 2 EMOM. Couldn't face EMOM today! I will get around to doing it at some stage. Just as my DS will be going back to school on Tuesday after his isolation, I received a call from the school today to pick up my DD as she has now become a close contact. FML. That means she will have one day back before they break up. To be fair she seems quite happy about it!

OP posts:
gratedbeetroot · 09/07/2021 14:22

Ah, no way! I’m glad she gets one day back at least.

WO12 done so that’s BR done for me!

roonetta · 11/07/2021 17:57

Whoop whoop Beetroot! Be proud, it’s a great achievement! Star

Rest day yesterday and Epic 2 day 47 calves and delts done today. I’ve still not gone back and done the EMOM Hmm but hope to get to it at some stage.

gratedbeetroot · 11/07/2021 23:07

Thank you!

I had a rest day today and went for a run yesterday rather than do another workout.

gratedbeetroot · 12/07/2021 10:42

Lift and Shred workout 1 done. I enjoyed it - I like the simplicity. Jillian is very nice in it! I need heavier weights though. I’ll try to do my runs on the days I do this as it doesn’t really get the heart rate up.

roonetta · 12/07/2021 13:51

I liked Lift & Shred too Beetroot. I think that's why I like the Epic workouts as they are more slower paced like that one. I expect once you do it with heavier weights, it will get the heart rate up more.

Finally got Epic 2 day 46 EMOM done. I HATED it! I really don't like anything that leaves me gasping for breath the whole way through. Anyway, at least it's done.
