Hope you felt ok after your second jab beetroot.

It’s very motivating when you can start to see changes in your body . It just goes to show all the hard work you have been putting in. Well done! Star

My DH ended up at the walk-in today after being bitten by horseflies yesterday. He is currently sporting a hand like Wreck-it Ralph Grin. A course of antibiotics should sort him out but he is laying around on the sofa nursing his hand #eyeroll.

Two rest days Friday and yesterday. Epic 2 day 38 tough tempo leg day. Had to drop the weights again for this one. Really lacking motivation at the moment and not sure why. Hope it returns soon!

Epic 2 day 39 arms and shoulders done.

I felt fine after this one thanks. Had been worrying about a repeat of the side effects I had after the first but didn’t even get a sore arm this time! Still took the weekend off though just to be sure. And thank you!

Oh no, I hope your DH’s hand gets better soon. I’ve heard about how nasty horsefly reactions can be.

Well done on the exercise. I get you re lacking motivation; after two days off - the longest break in a long time - it would have have been so easy just to have another day off today. I forced myself to get on with WO11 though and felt great for it. It wasn’t quite as bad as expected - I’d been imagining press-ups while doing handstands or something Grin Still WO12 to come though, there’s still time! I even enjoyed the standing mountain climbers - I remember finding them a killer in BFBM, I think probably due to where they were in the workout.

There’s definitely some ‘phoning it in’ from the team in parts on this one though; half attempts at some of the exercises which made me wonder if I’d heard the instruction wrong (I hadn’t!).

Queuing4Fergs · 28/06/2021 18:49

Hi all, checking in after some time off over the weekend. Leg feeling much better but still not 100%. Will proceed with caution. I'm impressed you didn't find WO11 too bad, beetroot. The chaturanga move kills me - I just can't get low in those at all. And those horrible in out press ups forced me onto my knees. Definitely prefer WO12 - the circuit where it's just bicep curls I'd like a holiday Grin

roonetta sorry to hear about your husband's bite, sounds nasty. Hope the ABs have kicked in. And despite your motivation being MIA you've kept going, so we'll done.

I am so ready for my holiday, a whole week off. Slightly concerned I won't be motivated to get back to it when I return but I think my body will really enjoy the rest. I think I'll do Killer B&T when I get back and then see how I feel as to whether to launch into Body Shred or take a portfolio approach for a little longer.

gratedbeetroot · 29/06/2021 10:46

WO12 done. Agree re the bicep curls - was waiting for a catch! I need to work on my bridge presses. I used to be good at bridge but haven’t done it for so long that my technique was rubbish.

Are we supposed to do two or three weeks of workouts 11 and 12? My calendar print out says three but I’m sure I heard Jillian say two. I hope it’s two like the rest.

roonetta · 29/06/2021 13:14

Glad your leg is feeling better Queuing Smile - when is your holiday?

It is definitely only 2 weeks for workouts 11 and 12 Beetroot - 3 weeks would just be mean Grin

Hope you are doing okay @AlgonquinBay and @Wineloffa?

Epic 2 day 40 full body dumbell workout - nice slow burn, but exhausting Blush

Days exercised 122

That’s the answer I wanted, roonetta Grin - thanks.

AlgonquinBay · 29/06/2021 17:10

Hi everyone - glad to see you are all killing it!!

I took some time off the programmes while I was doing my other challenges (13 mile run and Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge on consecutive weekends). Have also been doing a "portfolio" approach to my exercise (love that description queuing!) over the last few weeks incorporating the odd Caroline Girvan workout and Jillian Michael's Killer Body.

This morning I started Body Shred, which I really enjoyed but I was also thinking about starting Epic Heat! Decisions decisions.....

Hope your DH has recovered roonetta

gratedbeetroot · 29/06/2021 17:28

Well done on doing your challenges, Algon!

Decisions to make here soon...

13 DVDs (the ultimate boxset has 5 in it) to choose from! I think I’ll do six week six pack and lift and shred, I’m not sure on a third. Maybe I’ll do those two regularly and rotate the others depending on how I’m feeling. Google hasn’t been very helpful in suggestions (probably my search skills!).

gratedbeetroot · 29/06/2021 17:31

In fact do you think I can go straight to level two on six week six pack after completing BR? I could do that for a few weeks and then move onto Killer Abs.

AlgonquinBay · 29/06/2021 18:18

Wow that's quite the collection gratedbeetroot Shock

AlgonquinBay · 29/06/2021 18:20

I don't see why not as I imagine BR week11/12 would be tougher than week 1 6W6P
gratedbeetroot · 29/06/2021 18:56

I’ve been a fan for many years, since pre-children!

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking, but I haven’t done it for a long time so I couldn’t remember.

I want to do them all! Apart from BFBM! But Jillian herself recently said she isn’t a massive fan of cardio now so I don’t think that one’s necessary Grin

AlgonquinBay · 29/06/2021 21:34

Does that mean we can all skip cardio day now? GrinGrin

gratedbeetroot · 29/06/2021 21:57

I reckon so - I think the workouts that focus on/ include those are pretty old?! Grin She mentions it on one of the recent videos on her YouTube channel. It’s all about the app with tailored workouts now apparently - but I refuse to subscribe when I have so many DVDs!

Queuing4Fergs · 30/06/2021 17:03

Based on the cardio chat above, I'm missing my Cardio 3 workout today Grin My usual window for exercise was blown out of the water due to work and the next opportunity I have is not till 8.30pm so I've decided to miss it today and pick up WO11 as per the programme tomorrow. This will be my first 'cheat' but I've decided my leg could probably benefit from a day off and although I don't find that work out too hard on my calf when I'm doing it, my achilles does tend to ache afterwards.

I'm on holiday from 10 July just for a week so I'm on the countdown now- one week of this programme to go which will finish on a Wednesday, leaving me 2 or 3 days to fit in a couple of other workouts- perhaps one each of NMTZ and BFBM.

Re 6W6P I think I found Level 1 tough from mainly a cardio point of view. It didn't kill my abs though Level 2 was pretty intense for my thighs and butt as I recall. I think it was more that they felt like 2 different workouts rather than L2 building on L1 so I think going straight in at L2 should be fine.

Algonquin Well done on succeeding in your other challenges. Very impressive. Is this the first time you've done B Shred? What is Epic Heat - not JM?

AlgonquinBay · 30/06/2021 20:40

Hi queuing hope you enjoy your rest day! Having an unscheduled one here too.

To answer your question yes Epic Heat is another Caroline Girvan one. See you in Dorset Wink

gratedbeetroot · 30/06/2021 22:18

Haha Grin And in a recent interview she said she only works out four days a week for 30mins, which makes me feel like I’m going a bit overboard! Though she only has to maintain I guess. Hope your leg benefits from the rest day.

Thanks - I really can’t remember 6W6P at all. I needed a load of surgery in the stomach area a few years back so I took it easy on that area for quite a while after that, it’s only recently that I’ve felt that it would be a good idea to work on that area.

Not long till your holiday! I do remember enjoying NMTZ and there were a couple of exercises which I felt really worked my problem areas (hips and thighs - pear shape). I have a mental list of exercises that I feel make a difference so really I should put my own workout together and do them regularly, but I’m terrible for remembering unless I’m following a video.

roonetta · 01/07/2021 14:11

Wow well done on your challenges Algonquin! You should be very proud Star. I was also thinking of starting Epic Heat once I have finished Epic 2 in a couple of weeks.

I have only done level 1 of 6W6P Beetroot. I have heard that level 2 is really a step up Confused

Love the idea that we don't need the cardio days. On that note, I have skipped the Tabata workout in Epic 2 today, in favour of a WWL, which was again interrupted. We are really busy at work at the moment, so lots of unpaid overtime. Finding it hard to get a good workout in without being constantly interrupted with work emails.

I'm struggling too with relentless work stuff at the moment. Annoying as I really just want to focus on finishing the programme - and getting the kids through their final 3 days of school, hopefully without having to self isolate Confused

I love that we're all missing our cardio sessions. On that note I seem to recall that Jilliam thinks hot salty chips are excellent for boosting metabolism - and far better than grilled chicken and steamed broccoli? I feel a last minute dinner menu change coming on... Grin

AlgonquinBay · 01/07/2021 20:30

Day 2 of BS for me plus 3 mile run.

So I think we are all agreed that we need to skip cardio and eat more chips? That's my kind of programme GrinGrin

gratedbeetroot · 01/07/2021 20:37

I’m up for that Grin WO11 done today.

Queuing4Fergs · 02/07/2021 08:24

Body Shred AND a 3 mile run?! You ladies put me to shame. Looking forward to a nice sedate W012 today. I definitely notice a pattern with Jillian - it's the penultimate workout that's the killer, rather than the very last one which seems easier by comparison. I found this true of Shred and Ri30.

What annoys me about WO12 is all the "hooray it's the end, you've made it, this is the final workout, finish strong" etc etc when if you're following the programme the very last session you should do is the Cardio one. And frankly if I need any cheering on, it's after a cardio workout rather than WO12!!

Beetroot don't know about you but I find Cardio 3 easier than Cardio 2 but somehow less enjoyable. Weird

gratedbeetroot · 02/07/2021 09:46

WO12 and a run to do today! I think I’ve missed the boat for a reasonable temperature, I’ll have to wait till the evening I think. I’m no good at running in the sun/ heat!

Good point re the cardio one actually being the last! See, they weren’t expecting people to actually do it even back then! Grin It’s also a bit weird having that when you do it four times; they should have done a bonus last workout special edition!

Ha, I get what you mean. I should have timed my run for tomorrow so I could give cardio 3 a miss tomorrow (any excuse!) but never mind.

roonetta · 02/07/2021 13:17

Damn, I missed the memo on the salty chips - will have to make up for it at the weekend Grin

I agree about the cheering too - thought it seemed odd that they were congratulating you when you still had a while left. If I remember right, she messes up a bit in cardio 3 and misses bits out? It might be another one. If it is that one, I gave up and did cardio 2 instead because for me it didn't flow properly.

Got up early to do Epic 2 day 42 dumbbell circuits, so work couldn't intrude. I notice that tomorrow's workout is 50 minutes of push-up variations, so not sure that's going to happen Grin

Days exercised 123
