Rest day yesterday. Epic day 44 advanced full body workout done ☑️. This one was hard. Two 20 minute complexes with only one minute rest in between the two and then 20 more minutes of the same exercises but with a break in between each. One of the hardest so far I would say. I have heard that tomorrow’s EMOM workout is even harder though, so not looking forward to that Confused

Not sure what’s next Algonquin. Was going to move onto Epic 2 but I think with things opening up a bit, work will want me back in the office more so I might find it hard to fit in the longer workouts. Could try Heat but that looks crazy. How do you find the time? If I remember correctly you do shift work.

Thanks @AlgonquinBay, Epic sounds great so I’ll definitely try it at some stage.

Yesterday I did Shred L1 and Yoga Inferno L2. It was my first time doing YI L2 and I completed it with 2kg dumbbells. Absolute killer. My arms and legs were so sore this morning that I could only manage a slow Adrienne video today..

Had my first Covid jab today. The nurse told me my arm might be sore for a few days afterwards. Thanks to Jillian, it’s already throbbing so doubt I’ll even notice any vaccine side effects. 😂

AlgonquinBay · 11/04/2021 22:28

Yes roonetta* that was me with the shift work as I was redeployed due to COVID (NHS)* - I moved back to my usual hours on 1 April which is a relief. Unfortunately the only way I could fit the workouts in was by getting up at 5.30 and doing them before work Confused as I was on 12 hour shifts (8-8). Sometimes I just did 2 x workouts on a rest day in order to fit them in. It's hard!! That's why I liked that Jillian was 30 minutes all in as it's manageable.

AlgonquinBay · 11/04/2021 22:50

Had my second jab yesterday Wineloffa and I haven't had much pain in my arm at all - like you say, everything's already aching from the workouts so we perhaps don't notice!!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/04/2021 08:48

BS week 2 workout 1 done, first time. I did actually do all the push-ups this time, although I had to do them on my knees after the first circuit. My upper body strength is completely pathetic. I have to do the “pull”workouts mainly with 1.5 kg weights, even 2 kg is too much.

No sign of a jab for me, I’m not in that kind of job and they haven’t done any under-50s round here yet. Not looking forward to it, I gather the side-effects are likely to be worse if you’ve had Covid, and I’m pretty sure I had it last spring.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/04/2021 08:51

That should be “push” workouts, I can go slightly heavier on the pull days. Though it’s still not exactly a great feat of strength.

@Wineloffa, I’m very impressed with two Jillian workouts in one day! I have Yoga Inferno, it’s fierce.

Wineloffa · 12/04/2021 09:21

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson where are you located? I’m in NI, 41 and not a health care prof, no underlying health conditions, etc. They’re rolling it out really quickly here, it’s very impressive.

Happy to report I’ve had no side effects yet. Blasted through 6W6P L1 this morning with no difference in my energy levels. I also had Covid in January so I was expecting to feel some side effects although maybe I’m speaking too soon and they will hit me later. I’ll keep you posted!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/04/2021 11:48

I'm in London - it seems to vary quite a bit between boroughs here. Some 40-something colleagues have been called, but not me yet.

roonetta · 12/04/2021 12:36

Well done everyone! I could never lift anything heavier than 2kg (sometimes 3 depending on the exercise) with any of Jillian's workouts Professor. I was always so exhausted by the cardio intervals that my strength ran out. I will be interested to see whether 50 days of lifting 5kgs with Caroline has improved this though, so might do a Jillian workout once I've finished.

Epic day 45 EMOM workout. This was hideous. I had to cut down the reps by half AND modify and I was still dying. I did notice that Caroline couldn't even keep up with herself so I was not too disheartened Grin

No sign of my vaccine in Bristol either. I'm 50 in May though, so if I haven't had it by then I will qualify anyway. Jealous that I am the only adult in my family still waiting.

Day 15 of Epic for me today - this was a 30 minute HIT session, really broke a sweat on this one but it was over pretty quick.

Queuing4Fergs · 13/04/2021 09:13

Rest day yesterday and I have my last L3 in Ri30 today. My god I hate this circuit. The only good thing is that its about 3 minutes shorter than L2! I have managed to get to my feet on the rock and rollers only once Blush and that was using weights to propel me forward (thanks for the tip roonetta) I will persevere today.

So L4 tomorrow and I made the mistake of watching it the other day. I suspect it will make me look back fondly at L3. I was kind of hoping Ri30 was going to be like Shred where the last level was actually slightly easier than the one before. Bum!

So I have a slight dilemma. We go on a week's holiday (fingers firmly crossed) the second week of July. If I start Body Revolution immediately after 6 sessions of L4 Ri30 (with a rest day every 4 days that should finish next Tuesday) then I won't manage to complete the whole thing by the time we go - I'll be about 11 weeks into the 12 week programme.

This really upsets my tidy mind!! I'd like to finish it before we go, not have that one week still to do when we get back. So I'm contemplating NOT starting BR until after the holiday and maybe revisiting 6W6P, NMTZ and (my nemesis) BFBM. Any thoughts? It's really bugging me - and believe me, I never thought I'd ever be troubled with this sort of issue Grin

Jab-wise, I'm in Essex and had my first AZ dose 2.5 weeks ago. Felt v tired and had an achey arm for a couple of days afterwards so didn't exercise for 2 days but when I got back to it, I actually felt better. Or just that the pain in my arms were evened up after all the planking in L2 Ri30 Hmm

Wineloffa · 13/04/2021 13:56

This morning I did Shred L2 followed by a full body yoga flow video with Adrienne.

Still no vaccine side effects - thank goodness!

What’s Body Revolution like? Is it like The Shred? How many levels are in it? Thanks.

roonetta · 13/04/2021 14:17

I definitely think L4 of ripped is easier than L3 Queuing. I hated L3; think it is my least favorite level of all.

As phase 1 of BR is fairly easy (especially following Ripped) you could maybe just do workouts 1-4 for one week each instead of two weeks which would mean you would finish just before you go away.

I do know what you mean about a tidy mind. It has been bugging me throughout Epic that I am slightly off with the workouts and i've never managed to catch up.

BR is the same 3-2-1 format as Shred Wineloffa but is a 90 day programme with 3 phases (12 different workouts in all if I remember correctly) I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

I managed to book in my vaccine today now they have changed the age. Getting it Friday so hoping for no side effects.

Epic day 46 abs and push-ups done. Never done so many push-ups in my life!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 13/04/2021 22:09

No Jillian for me today, I’ve biked to work and back so that was two hours of moderate cardio which I’ll count as my first cardio this week. Back to the Bodyshred DVDs tomorrow.

I now have a vaccine appointment! Booked in for Friday too, so if I feel ropey on Saturday I’ll only miss cardio day 2 this week (what a shame that would be).

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 14/04/2021 08:49

BS week 2 workout 2, first time. Once more through each DVD and I move on to workouts 3 and 4.

Wineloffa · 14/04/2021 13:24

@roonetta Thanks, I’ll stick BR on the list. I might do it after Ri30 which I’m going to start at the beginning of May.

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson good luck for the vaccine! Hope you don’t get any side effects. I felt cold yesterday evening and suddenly got really tired at 9am so I went to bed early. Feel fine now but think that might have been my body’s reaction to the vaccine?

Today I did 6W6P L1 which I actually really enjoy because there’s not too much jumping around in it. Will do yoga with Adrienne later.

roonetta · 14/04/2021 14:03

We are vaccine buddies Professor - we can compare side effects Grin. I am working on the assumption I won't be able to do any workouts on Saturday, but if I was hoping to miss anything, it would definitely be cardio!

Glad your tiredness didn't last too long Wineloffa.

Epic day 47 leg day done

AlgonquinBay · 14/04/2021 21:24

Yes Queuing if you are thinking of BR I would condense the earlier workouts so that you finish a week or two early, as roonetta suggested. You could maybe double up some days and do cardio and weights sessions on same day? Or skip a couple of the cardio days? I wouldn't want to go on holiday before I'd finished either!!

Good to hear you're all getting your jabs!!
I felt quite grotty after my first (high temp and headache) but okay after my second (AZ). I didn't get a sore arm either time but everyone's different.

I would definitely recommend BR Wineloffa I really enjoyed it.

Epic day 18 here - another lunge-fest today, she does like her lunges!! My quads were burning by the end. Blush

Nameregretter · 14/04/2021 21:34

Hello just saw this in active discussions and it’s right up my street! I did the 30 day shred a few years ago and recently revisited it to help with baby weight (5 months pp now). Enjoyed it so much I’ve just got Jillian’s app! I’ve done a few of her postnatal ones but they’re a bit gentle after the shred! Is body revolution the thing to go for?

roonetta · 14/04/2021 22:14

Welcome @Nameregretter Smile. Body revolution is a great programme which starts off quite gently and builds in difficulty. There is a really great atmosphere between Jillian and the cast and I found it a fun one to do (except the cardio days!). Would be great if you joined us to track your progress.

OP posts:
AlgonquinBay · 15/04/2021 07:42

Hi @Nameregretter yes I definitely recommend BR, I started it in December straight after 30DS and really enjoyed it. If you managed 30DS I think BR is a natural progression from that.

Let us know how you get on Smile

Nameregretter · 15/04/2021 08:00

Great! Looking forward to starting! I think I prefer her dvds to the programs generated on the app - I like seeing other people doing the exercises along with her and feel like she explains what to do better! Maybe I’d be better off cancelling my app subscription and just buying a few dvds?!

AlgonquinBay · 15/04/2021 08:08

Yeah maybe - I think all of her DVDs are available on the app though too, so it might be worth trying them all out to see which ones you like before your subscription runs out?

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 15/04/2021 08:21

BS week2 workout 1 second time done. I really wish I had a less weedy upper body. My legs are fairly strong, but my efforts at push-ups are embarrassing.

Definitely vaccine buddies, @roonetta! Let’s hope neither of us has any side-effects to compare.

Welcome, @Nameregretter. I second BR: it’s a good programme and well structured, although the first cardio disc is unbelievably dull. I also prefer DVDs, I have quite a stash by now.

roonetta · 15/04/2021 16:39
