Epic day 19 - triceps and chest ouch!!

Actually double ouch as legs still aching from yesterday's lunges Confused

Wineloffa · 15/04/2021 20:20

Welcome @Nameregretter!

Today I did Shred L3 and an Adrienne sun salutations video. Mixing my routine up from Saturday when I throw 6W6P L2 into the mix. Hope it’s not too torturous!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/04/2021 08:56

BS week 2 workout 2, second time. Very annoyingly I have two copies of workout 4 and not workout 3, so I have to get Amazon to sort that out. Not sure whether to do another week of 1 and 2, or do something different in the meantime.

roonetta · 16/04/2021 12:57

You should be able to find workout 3 on bilibili.com @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson if that's any help Smile

AlgonquinBay · 16/04/2021 15:13

How annoying Professor!

Rest day for me today.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 17/04/2021 10:00

Thanks for the Bilibili tip, @roonetta. I’ve found workout 3 ready for next week.

I’m going to call today a rest day - no serious side effects but I’m tired, shivery and achy, and DD had me up at 5.30 because she felt sick, which didn’t help.

roonetta · 17/04/2021 10:10

Kids seem to have a sixth sense when you aren’t feeling 100% don’t they? I am feeling a little tired, hot and headachy myself Professor so definite rest day for me. Hope you get some proper rest today Flowers

Wineloffa · 17/04/2021 11:01

@ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson I had that shivery feeling after my vaccine too. A warm bath helps. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Just finished 6W6P L2 which was tough although as it’s my first time doing it, I found it a little hard to follow? Need to get used to the new moves / routine I guess. Followed that with Yoga Inferno L1 and I’m now a sweaty mess!

AlgonquinBay · 17/04/2021 16:30

Day 19 of Epic for me today. 1 hour full body dumbbell workout plus 3 mile run.

Enjoy your rest days roonetta and professor - I felt a little like that after my first vaccine but it soon passed.

Queuing4Fergs · 17/04/2021 18:36

Hi everyone, thanks for the reccomendations re BR. I'm due to start on Wednesday so will see how I get on. I'm a bit nervous that once I'm working back in the office- with my 3 hour per day commute plus dropping and collecting kids at school, I won't have the energy I need to finish the programme. I'm so used to WFH now and doing my workout at lunch time that the idea of having to do it at 8pm again makes me want to cry Grin

Am now half way through Ri30 L4. Am not enjoying burpees followed by scissor jumps and the squat press strength move really makes my back ache. On the whole though, I think I prefer it to L3 and possibly even L2. My chattanga press ups are a disgrace though- Shelley style all the way. Lots of familiar moves though, having done 6W6P, BFBM, NMTZ and shred previously

I'm definitely feeling leaner but still have some serious work to do. Progress pics will be taken on Wednesday to compare against the start of Ri30 then will take more half way through BR

Queuing4Fergs · 17/04/2021 18:38

Professor hope you're match-fit again post-jab. It's a bit like a Jillian Michaels workout - horribly painful with lingering aches, but so so good for us Wink

AlgonquinBay · 17/04/2021 22:26

That's brilliant Queuing! I can imagine that fitting the workouts in with that commute would be hard. When I was working 12-hour shifts I found it easier to get up at 5.30am to do the workout than to attempt it after 8pm and energy-wise it also set me up for the day, although I was ready to collapse into bed at about 9pm!

I guess you have to see what works best for you - would your employer not consider working from home going forward?

Wineloffa · 18/04/2021 12:00

I’m worried that I won’t fit my workouts in when I’m back in the office too. I’ll probably get up earlier each week day and do them first thing.

This morning I did Yoga Inferno L2, really tough..

roonetta · 18/04/2021 16:04

I feel the same about fitting in workouts once back in the office. Not sure I will have the time or motivation.

Three rest days for me as have felt pretty grotty after the vaccine. Hopefully back at it tomorrow. How are you feeling @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson?

OP posts:
ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 18/04/2021 18:23

I’m much better, thanks! Yesterday was a bit of a write-off, I went back to bed for the afternoon. Today I’m pretty well normal (but had to do some work, so no workout for me). On to weeks 3 and 4 tomorrow.

I’m more worried about fitting in the workouts with the school run than with being back at work - getting DD up, breakfasted and ready sits right across my ideal Jillian slot. I am sorely lacking in willpower and won’t get round to doing the workouts in the evenings, so I need to get myself out of bed half an hour earlier.

roonetta · 19/04/2021 12:33

Glad you are feeling back to normal Professor.

Still not feeling quite 100% today, but luckily Epic day 49 was bodyweight only and stretching so a little more gentle than usual. It made me realise just how inflexible I am, and some of the stretches were quite uncomfortable.

One more day left of Epic 1 and I think I will plough on with Epic 2.

Days exercised 78

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 19/04/2021 13:38

BS week 3 workout 3 done, first time. Bleuargh. Three new kinds of push-up plus jumping lunges. I failed miserably to get up earlier, but I’m working at home today so did it in my lunch break.

Hope you’re fully recovered very soon @roonetta.

AlgonquinBay · 19/04/2021 20:38

Glad you're both feeling better!

Day 20 of Epic for me today!! Wow roonetta you've nearly finished - well done you! Star

roonetta · 20/04/2021 11:41

Thanks for the good wishes ladies. Back to my normal self today.

I hate jumping lunges Professor. I hurt myself a while back doing them and so am extra cautious and just do alternating lunges.

Epic day 50 done! I really enjoyed that one (helped by the fact there were no burpees and a confetti cannon at the end Grin).

Moving onto Epic 2.

Days exercised 79

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 20/04/2021 14:00

BS week 3 workout 4 done, first time. Bloody hell, four kinds of burpees!? I don’t think my poor middle-aged knees will be able to take any more, I’m dreading workouts 5 to 8 already.

Well done on finishing Epic, roonetta!

AlgonquinBay · 20/04/2021 21:36

Well done roonetta - great achievement!! You deserved that confetti cannon ThanksThanks

Day 21 of Epic for me here - it was a dumbbell legs workout with mini circuits or "complexes" as she describes it!! Certainly made me sweat. BlushBlush

Wineloffa · 20/04/2021 22:04

Well done @roonetta! Glad you’re feeling better @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson!

Today I did 6W6P L2 which flow a bit better today as I’m getting more used to the moves. Then I did an Adrienne Yoga for Anxiety video because my old friend has raised its head again these past few days...

gratedbeetroot · 20/04/2021 22:05

Hi all,

I hope you don’t mind me jumping in.

I’ve been a fan of Jillian’s for years and have most of her DVDs but haven’t done any for a while as I’ve been doing other (more gentle) workouts. I’m ready to get back into it! I see talk about BR. This is new to me as I think it cost a fortune back then. Have you BRers seen amazing results after sticking at it for 3 months?! I need to lose some weight and tone up. I’m halfway through couch to 5k and I’m eating healthily but I need something extra and my current workouts are too easy. Any thoughts on BR? Or do you get better results mix and matching the other DVDs? Thanks

roonetta · 21/04/2021 16:42

Oh God, I remember that burpee workout Professor. Was definitely a shock to my system (and my knees). Well done 👏

I started off hating the complexes Algonquin but ended up loving them. They definitely get the heart going.

Sorry to hear your anxiety has returned Wineloffa. Do you think anything in particular triggered it? Hoping the exercise and yoga helps Flowers

Welcome @gratedbeetroot. I can’t say I saw amazing results with BR but I must confess that my eating isn’t as clean as it could be. I did definitely get stronger though and had fun doing BR. I am sure you will drop some weight if you are eating well and doing the program. It’s worth remembering that it doesn’t always reflect on the scale though, but my clothes definitely got looser. Hope you decide to join us and track your progress Smile

I was going to start Epic 2 today but an unexpected outage of my WiFi meant I had to go into the office. Instead I did Workout 7 of BR when I got home, as I remembered how hard I found it. Yep, still hard BlushBlush. Thought it would make sense to start Epic 2 on Monday and actually do the workouts on the days they are listed. Not sure what I will do between now and then, maybe some more Jillian.

Days exercised 80

gratedbeetroot · 21/04/2021 17:53

Thanks roonetta :)

I’ve done the first two days of BR and I’m enjoying it so far. I’m wondering if doing the cardio workouts on the same day as my runs will be too much though! I can’t change my runs to avoid clashing as I’m doing them with a friend. This always means I might not always get a rest day either. My legs are always fine after running though so hopefully I’ll be ok.

I need to be quite strict with my eating because as well as wanting to lose weight I I bulk up easily and I’m aiming to get into smaller clothes!
