Third year for me aiming to be as active as possible most days. So join me in setting a goal and keeping on track by logging on here Smile. I’ve set a 500mile run target this year to be realistic as I’ve nursed foot issues most of 2021 which really curtailed my running miles but sea swimming and trail running have developed into my passions. What’s your challenge this year?

Freezing seaswim this morn cut it shorter even by my stds northly wind was icy. Then a warmup 5k run, plus a 45min trail dog walk. Phew pooped now Smile

lalaland have you tried a few stretches for the tight hip flexor? I struggle all the time and really miss my sports massage as she always released my hips, but a good pigeon stretch and piroformus stretch plus general hamstring & quads stretches help me.

My plan has me doing 1 hour next weekend but I've signed up for a local group ride that's more or less the same as yesterday 🤦🏼.

A group ride is a great idea. Don't get stuck up the front, find a larger person to shelter behind in a headwind Grin and call out potholes. You'll be absolutely fine and if they're horrible, they don't deserve you!

It's much easier to do longer distances in a group, you get towed along in the slipstream. If the leader is in any way good, the should offer support and make sure you know how to get home/back to the start. Bring a drink and something to nibble and be nice to yourself when you get home.

238km for me this week across walking, hiking and cycling. I've done 2,065km for the year so far, I'm chuffed with that.

@SSwimCycle21 argh you’ve caught me - I do stretch but not nearly as properly as I should. And I know exactly what I should be doing. I will be more consistent!

Tbh I think the issue is that I’m running faster, but exclusively on roads - no track and very little treadmill because of our puppy (treadmill is loud and he barks). Today DP took him out specifically so I could go on the treadmill and I did a quick 7km with no hip or knee pain at all. Can’t wait for the gyms to reopen so I can build proper strength work and treadmill sessions back into my routine.

Anyway, excuses! I’m skulking off to stretch now Blush

I'm hoping to get on the swimming booking site myself tomorrow. But DD is supposed to start lessons anyway so that takes a bit of pressure off.
Massive 2k walk today, my legs are much less sore than I feared though I didn't manage yoga (time/DCs not anything physical)

Great blast out on my bike 38km this morning it was like someone had turned the heater on! I was stripping off layers so sunny & warm.

Today we drove up to the north of the county to a lovely but not overly popular area - 16.1 km, the early cloud clearing to the most gorgeous golden spring day.

A 15km run today - like running through a sauna. I always forget what running in 15 degree+ temperature feels like! But good to get out - my knee felt ok too.

15k bike ride. Lovely weather + rule of "6" = bike path rammed with groups of 8 teenagers. Booked on a British Cycling ride on Sat!

Forced myself out before work and before it gets too warm. 5.25km run. Irrationally annoyed that my gps lost signal so only recorded 5km which has messed my averages up.
