New thread needed! All runners welcome, whatever your pace or distance.
Cold icy run for me this morning, couple of exciting sliding episodes! Not a fan of the ice...

Thanks, @Doublethecuddles - 20 mins with a bag of frozen mash has helped, but I need to remember to move away from my desk too, throughout the day!

Sorry about the mud!

Purpleraindeer · 24/02/2021 14:27

@Doublethecuddles - all the mud round here (of which there was a lot!) seems to have dried up. It has obviously moved to wherever you are!

Hill intervals today - totally brutal. I think I will be sore tomorrow. It didn’t help that I got all confused with my garmin and did an extra one.

@IRun4Me I have more if you include my hybrid pair and spikes 😃(plus climbing shoes and walking shoes). Don’t have many regular shoes though.

Another 8. Still suffering with doms in my glutes and eating more than I’m running

Looks like we’re close to 1000, which is good as we’ve been cheated out of 2-3 days this month

Definitely lacking on the energy front this week. Just kept putting one foot in front of the other. Slow but did enjoy being out there.
I also achieved my Miles for Mind target calmconfident. Well done to you too 👍

Got a cracking stitch today which hasn’t happened to me since a race I did a couple of years ago. Thought about stopping but battled on. Mostly trails today so some good scenery and the mud is starting to dry up.

Meh, I seem to have got a touch of PF in my niggly foot again 🙈 Feels generally ok to run on, cut things short at just over two miles for caution’s sake though and made sure to walk every so often to give my foot a bit of a break. Hoping to make another physio appointment when DS goes back to school. 🤦‍♀️

What are the numbers at the bottom of some posts?

I ran 10K yesterday in exactly 1½ hours. I'm sometimes about 5 minutes faster but it was my first longer run in new trainers, so I took it easy at first, just in case they developed any problems (which they didn't). That's good to know! I'm aiming to run 10K at least once a month this year but would kind of like to run even further at some point, just to be able to say I can!

Spudlet · 25/02/2021 19:13

We add our runs onto a monthly cumulative total, in miles. So you have 6 miles to add! 👍

I meant to ask actually - does anyone keep a running total for the year or do we just do month by month?

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 25/02/2021 20:46

9miles today....I felt like Forrest Gump....done 6miles so I may as run another mile...got to 7...may be I should get to 8...

I've been slacking off, just went out for the first time this week. A measly 3.5k but feeling good now.

I've had a rubbish fortnight for running, last week I was resting niggles so only did 6k, this week I've been feeling a bit under the weather and had to self-isolate waiting for covid test results - thankfully negative so I'm hoping to make it out for a run at the weekend. Spring is really in the air, can't wait to get out!

Short trail run this morning. Still pretty muddy here but the sun was shining.

And we’re over the 1000! Beautiful 7m today. Got a bit lost in the woods (deliberately) and ran in the sunshine on twisting paths between the trees. Was just magic today Smile

Gorgeous this morning, just over 9 miles done. Included some lovely soft woody paths, Misty lake views and an industrial park - even that looked nice in the sunshine Grin

Sounds like everyone has had lovely runs, and what beautiful pictures @Iamblossom and @CalmConfident! I also had a run in beautiful sunshine today, mix of riverside path & country roads with a castle in the middle. Loved it.

Managed a gentle 5k yesterday, my knees were fine which is a relief but hamstrings are tight today, probably because I was getting lazy with my pelvic tilt - something else to add to my strength and flexibility work! It does feel like running, at least at this stage, is a progression from addressing one imbalance to another but I am reassured that have managed to overcome the calf problems I had in my very early days, so hopefully I'll be able to keep the knees sorted and get the hamstrings sorted too. And who knows, maybe one day I'll have got a more solid base overall and be a bit more run-proof.
