After doing this successfully now for 2 years I thought I'd start the 2020 thread

All welcome

Well done Brimful on the PB.

Sorry about the isolating amysaurus. I bought an exercise bike yesterday in case we have to self isolate.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/03/2020 15:11

Lovely day here - we walked to and through the next village and back, something we've never done before - the road through it used to be a major A road but it was bypassed a couple of years back so it's rather pleasant now.

We've been isolating since Friday when DS started with all the classic symptoms. Guess who started with them tonight?

Bang goes my goal for March, 80 up to date but I think that'll be me out of action for at least a week possibly more Sad

Year to date 544 miles:
Swim 17
Bike 414
Run 113

ErrolTheDragon · 16/03/2020 23:09

Thankssorry to hear that. But if you've got it, from everything I've heard it may be safer not do do much for more like a month than a week, to make sure you're really over it and not susceptible to secondary infections.

Does your DS seem ok now?

FrangipaniBlue · 17/03/2020 09:13

Yeah he's not up yet today but was definitely brighter by bedtime yesterday.

Still getting out of breath and coughing when he walks about and complaining of general achey-ness but he's really not "sick" if you know what I mean? and he looked like he had more colour in his face last night, not as pale.

If how he has been is what most of the generally young and healthy population get then it honestly doesn't seem that bad Confused

(If it is what he has had, because we can't be totally sure without testing!!)

10K today, didn’t realise it had gotten warmer until I was out.

Amy Flowers hope you can all stay sane and recover ok. We strongly suspect my DH had the virus 3.5wks ago after we’d all been ill over Feb HT but didn’t twig until the infor ramped up. He’s fine now but didn’t run for nearly 3wks it knocked him for 6.

I did a slow ParkRun Sat but mainly just walking as much as I can but avoiding impact exercise so to reduce inflammation in my tendon. Miss the running but enjoying walking.

A couple of days off, 8.3 km today. Lovely spring day, much less traffic, a few other people walking all giving each other a wide berth.

Been out early everyday for a walk as DH hadn’t had to leave so early for work as the traffic been non-existent. Covered a min 15,000 steps a day, my watch reckons I’ve covered 46miles in 5days! Think it’s being a bit generous but I’ve been making a real effort to keep moving despite working at home. Having the kids off school now will make it a-bit harder to juggle work/exercise/mothering...

TriSkiRun99 · 21/03/2020 13:48

Had a 6.30am walk/run 5k along super windy cold beach but lovely to get some fresh air whilst still social distancing as only a handful of folk out walking dogs. Hope everyone is staying safe. Lots of gardening already done so racking up the steps today.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/03/2020 15:18

7km on local paths - quite a few neighbours doing likewise, exchanging greetings from a distance.

I'm only counting the distance logged while I've got the walking activity app on, the general step counter reckons I've done 9.2 km. I don't think the Apple Watch is very accurate (if the walking or running app isn't on, they use gps) I think it goes by how much you swing your arms or suchlike.

7k run on paths for me. I have abandoned the parks because they are way too busy now. I think I am going to have to go early in the morning because even the paths are getting busy.

I'm lucky - a village near a large town but also shortish drives to nice places and slightly longer to lovely ones. So, it's pleasant enough here, without being attractive to outsiders. When the canal towpath dries out (looking over the bridge still a bit miry) that may get more people - I'm thinking we will try for some dawn chorus walks a bit further into the year, not told DH about that yet.Grin

I usually run after the school run but did my 5k this morning before home school. Paths were much quieter than the afternoons I ran last week.

amysaurus87 · 23/03/2020 21:45

Unsurprisingly due to self isolating I managed a whopping 8.71 miles of walking this week!

Went back to work today and my trains were just as busy as ever...absolute fucktards in this country!

I'm now at home for the next few days as depsite being a key worker we are moving even further to business critical staff only.
