After doing this successfully now for 2 years I thought I'd start the 2020 thread

All welcome

I forgot to update yesterday. 5 km walked plus 3 on the rower, 5.5km today.
Wildflowers blooming (celandine, wood anemones, primroses, herb robert) and chiffchaffs calling.

445 km

5k this morning but hurt my ankle hopping off the path and on to the road to keep my distance. It is throbbing now.

Oh, that's bad luck. It only takes a moment, doesn't it. My DB broke his ankle a few years when he fell off the edge of his lawn.

8.4 km today. 453.4

SpringFan · 26/03/2020 19:42

I am back to walking most days, after a period of feeling sorry for myself and getting put off by the weather etc in February, however, I still managed 50km in February. Just over 3km with DS today, after he finished working at home.
So year to date
205km walking
Plus 25Km on the bike in the gym and 11Km on the cross trainer when I didn't warm up on a walk. ( approximate as my record card is locked in the gym)
If Covid19 doesn't lead to a stop on going outside to walk, I might get to 1000km, if not 1000miles.

10k this morning

297.5/702.5

Headphones gave up about 3 km in so I had a long run in the quiet, felt like very early morning because it was so quiet. Very odd times

We tried a path over the fields which we don't usually do; one way there's a section of farm track which is too chewed up and still too muddy to do without boots, the other way got to a fence with a securely tied up gate or a rickety stile with barbed wire on the fence over it.Hmm still it was nice enough and we got 5km done

55 miles since I last posted: 30 walked, 2 run, 23 cycled

I’m walking or cycling early every morning plus Joe Wickes PE with the kids is killing my gultes Grin
I've started logging walking miles for a 500mile challenge as I just can’t run much at the moment. 100m done in 2 weeks which I’m pleased with

ErrolTheDragon · 29/03/2020 09:50

DH (who has various 'risk conditions' though not on the official list) is now feeling nervous about the narrowness of the pavement and towpath so I may be stuck with the rower. But I know I'm fortunate we've got that. 4km last night

Still can’t run because my ankle still hurts and I don’t want to make it worse.

I have been cycling but not counting cycling distance towards my goal. Especially as I am taking advantage of empty city streets to teach my youngest how to cycle on the roads.
Really hope to be running by Tuesday.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/03/2020 19:28

5km on the rower, but a good weeding session in the garden beforehand

Lost track of the days! 22.67 miles of walking done this week. I've managed to fix the treadmill I have so hoping to get on that while my LB naps to boost my mileage.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/03/2020 13:04

We didn't get out yesterday so today did 9.5km

476.9

FrangipaniBlue · 01/04/2020 06:42

692 miles at the end of March

Run 138 miles
Cycle 537 miles
Swim 17 miles

Lockdown is doing wonders for my cycle distance using the turbo but it's killing me not being able to swim Sad

Inniu · 01/04/2020 09:26

I still have a sore ankle and can’t run. Almost considering a visit to a minor injury unit at this stage Sad
I am cycling but it is not nearly as good.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/04/2020 10:48

8km today
317/ 683

Smashed a few Strava leaderboards as well with a new route (5th all time female on one segment and 8th on two others)

March stats: 118.5 (3.8 per day)
Year to date (not counting today) 309 = 3.38 per day. So distance was up in March, finally pulling back from winter injury.

I didn't get out today, so did 3km, plus ... half a kilometre trotting round my garden (quite a lot of laps, diagonals, zigzags... it's not that big!) I'm definitely counting it.Grin

Hope it’s ok to post on here!

I followed C25k last year and got up to 5k but life got in the way so I haven’t been out since July/August.

Am I likely still to be able to run? Would I be best just starting at the beginning of the programme or try for 2/3k?

Would appreciate any advice!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/04/2020 16:28

@reasonswhyimdifferent I'd just try it and see. I suppose it depends how well you've maintained your fitness and you won't know til you try. I'm not familiar with c25K but is it such that you could dip in at a later stage and do the programme from any point? Or could you just go out and do a run/walk combination and see how you get on?
