New thread all Smile

plink I love the circuit workouts but they always fool me into thinking they are going to be easy but they hurt!! Shoulder intervals are definitely the easiest of them all and there for my favourites Grin

Argh about the sleep schedules Reastie I'm sure it will click into place soon but for now, it's an exhausting slog. Got any stocks in ProPlus? 😂😂 not that you can have it with BF 🙄

Its mad isnt it? 60 minutes is just excessive 😂😂 I would have been able to do it before DS but not now. On his Insta he frequently puts up bids of his workout retreats and he uses this peg board thing... he hangs off the pegs and moves them up the board. Crazy.

Hey hippie if you need to take the time out to get shit done or have a rest, take it. So important to listen to your body. I've just seen the new hybrid calendar on Instagram. I'll see if I can upload it to here Smile looks quite good actually!

Hippywannabe · 08/09/2019 15:24

Has anyone done Youv2?

yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2019 17:59

Hippie I have never done those workouts but I have done some with that trainer and he is quite funny so will be interested what you think of you try it! plink I quite like p90x3 but I think it gets harder I haven’t done all the workouts.

I was going to do some more 21 but my thighs are so sore from the surrenders that I stuck with stretches from 80 day and liift

Theromanempire · 08/09/2019 22:44

purple huge congrats on the run..amazing time and your fitness and stamina levels must be through the roof!

hippy no idea on the Youv2...never done it and don't remember seeing it. Is the instructor that weird Latino one (can't remember his name) who did the Brazilian Butt Lift ones? I've done some of those but they are not for me!

plink Thanks for posting the calendar. Someone on the FB group has worked out the times for each day and they are all around an hour each Shock no chance of fitting that in so I'm going to have to split some I think. Got a head start and did day 1 today...No idea if it was because I'd done heavy weights before the cardio but I could not hold myself up on the second set of mountain climbers Blush never happened before!

Diet has been totally shite but really going to commit properly from tomorrow...No more blips!!!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/09/2019 07:46

Thanks for that calendar. That looks hard. Weights, then a whole other workout? Ouch! Is there a way for me to save the attachment somewhere so I don’t have to keep refinding this page on the thread? I’m definitely up for it, but probably need a lower intensity week this week to make sure I recover properly.

Thanks for the congrats everyone. I’m on a bit of a high - was a great experience and I am so pleased with how it went. A lot of people did it as a walk (probably the majority) and that looked fun too. I’d recommend the experience. I’m thinking of doing another - not until next year though as the training is a bit tough on DH and the kids.

I’m back on the careful eating wagon, so let’s commit together roman. I’m gradually creeping more and more above my target weight so I need to stop it before it gets out of control. Im going to do Mfp for 2 weeks from today to sort it out! Are you with me? Smile

PlinkPlink · 09/09/2019 10:27

I would like to reach a point where I can do it yum but I don't think it will happen for a while if baby no.2 makes an appearance. Hope the thighs are feeling better today.

Haha you and me both Roman yesterday I had 2 shortbread biscuits, a sausage and egg sandwich for breakfast (it was Sunday) and a caramel bar (OH had bought them and put them in the fridge just before dinner and I was starving so it had to go Blush ) we'll do better today. Toast so far and I'm going to make a shake with some super greens in - that always sets me up nicely for the day Smile

Purple I bet you are! Nice easy going week now Smile yeah, you should be able to screenshot it? You on windows or mac?

Getting a bit excited about doing legs later...

Reastie · 10/09/2019 05:45

Purple I’m so impressed you’d even consider working out this week tbh! I was thinking screenshot too. Sometimes you can right click save but don’t know if you can with the pics on here.

Plink you made me follow Tony Horton on insta! Can’t believe he’s 61! He’s amazing fir his age but I get annoyed at his ‘ageing is for idiots ‘ slogan as aging is natural and you imo do have to adjust exercise to fit with age. No matter how hard you work an 80 year old body isn’t going to perform the same as a 20 year old one.

Seem to have lost 2-3 lbs in the past week after 1lb every single previous week. I have no idea how that happened as I did practically zero activity last week and didn’t think I ate a lot less. I have been hungry a lot but what’s new 😁. Maybe Ds has been taking more milk or maybe it’s a hormone change. Anyway, based on this morning’s weight (which might be a freak low) I’m very close to a healthy bmi :)

Purpleraindeer · 10/09/2019 08:14

That’s fab reastie! Yay Star
I’ve done a screen shot. (Can’t believe I didn’t think of that myself Blush)
I logged all my food on mfp yesterday except lunch as it was home made lamb curry and rice so no idea what to put....will log everything today too. Project stricter eating has got off to a good start. Hope you’re doing ok too roman.
May try for a workout later as am feeling ok. Legs pretty fine surprisingly. I think ultras are easier for doms as you run a bit slower and they’re more off road so less impact. I feel a lot better after this than when I last did a marathon and couldn’t walk properly for 5 days!
Have a good day everyone

yumyumpoppycat · 11/09/2019 12:02

Plink - makes sense to stay with familiar exercise at the moment for you, but rather than p90 x or p90 x 2 def look into p90x3 in the future asa starting point - it is shorter 30 minute workouts and you can modify so prob don't even need a pullup bar. Some of the workouts feel easier than the 21 day fix type ones if I am honest!

Reastie fab news on weightloss!

Purple that is fantastic re your legs feeling ok!

I am very jealous as I am a quivering wreck after a few 21df and some stretch workouts. I think the planta F has been made worse as I was in significant pain on Monday. It is way better now but overall it is more sore than before I started exercising. Bum.

I have restarted on MFP too Purple and Roman - I think we are friends on there - have made my diary open to friends have to admit my diary is a bit rubbish as mainly filled with chocolate biscuits, bread and instant coffee Blush. I made homemade chilli and flatbreads yesterday so just searched the key ingredients and used that to guess points. Apparently ready meals can be off by 20% anyway. Will be eating chilli all week as I forgot that I was using chickpeas I cooked from dry and froze so I couldn't freeze leftovers as planned.

Anyway I am 2lbs ish down this week if I can still be that by the end of the week I will be happy. For my foot I am guessing losing weight can only help so maybe I will try and get things going by focusing on that - I had planned on 1 800 cal fast day a week but I might up that to 2.

Sorry for waffling on!

Purpleraindeer · 12/09/2019 07:39

That is annoying about the plantar fasciitis poppy. Could your workout shoes be part of the problem?

I did a workout last night - just a Joel 25min one but it felt good to be back. Will go for a little run on Friday and then back to normal I think. I’m down 1kg since Monday but I’m assuming that’s water. It’s the weekends that are my problem. My routine gets all messed up and then I end up eating pork pies or chocolate Blush. I need to think of some tactics...

yumyumpoppycat · 13/09/2019 10:32

Purple fab that you are back to Joel workouts! It's nice that the marathon training has made the old routine fresh again.

I got my trainers recently so don't think they are to blame - but its possible. Have looked up workouts that are ok to do and 21 day fix style def isn't unfortunately (well a teeny part of me isn't that upset Wink ) but yoga and dh's cross trainer should be fine so no excuse to just give up!

I was all set to do some yoga this morning but was signed out of BB so I think that means my sub has ended. I have a few random dvds in with our movies on the shelves in the front room so put on a Darcey bussel pilates one. DD2 wanted to join in when I had earlier said I was doing yoga and proceeded to amuse me with her running commentary (apart from when she said my butt was in her face!) ... is Darcey bussel breathing she looks too still...ooh playing dead (clams move) … this is harder than PE, etc. I was a bit suspicious of her last comment as when DD got home from school yesterday after a PR day she told me several times she was forced to run a mile without stopping then do star jumps - with her PE teacher yelling for her to hurry up the whole time Hmm

waves to Plink, Reastie and Roman

Theromanempire · 14/09/2019 08:22

Morning

yum don't look too closely at my MFP diary as it does contain a lot of shit Blush within my calories though so it works for me! Just try logging in to BOD again...mine logs me out periodically (i think it might be monthly) and I have to log back in again. Sorry the PF is playing up...so frustrating and the only thing that really helps is time I think!

purple glad you are fully recovered from last week and ready to get working out again.

plink exciting about TTC...get your exercise in now!

reastie great news about the weight. You are doing so well! And my BMI is 28 so technically overweight...and I haven't been pregnant for nearly 11 years Blush

So this week, I have been within my calories every day and am doing the Joel and Autumn mash up. Have to say I'm loving it so far! I'm missing the booty workouts out though as I'm not keen on those and the 2 workouts planned for today (Dirty 30 and full body HIIT) I'm spreading out over today and tomorrow because I honestly don't think I could do both together Shock Then week 1 is done.

No idea on my weight yet as I only braved the scales yesterday..it was about 4lbs lower than I had expected which was a relief. Still 7lbs heavier than my lightest weight doing team RH and still a good stone and a half to my ideal weight but small steps!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 14/09/2019 21:40

Your dd’s PE sounds like what I did when I was at school poppy. I thought they didn’t allow that anymore. Cross country was one of the main reasons I did no sport until I left school!

Well done on the diet/workouts roman. I did my first mash up workout today. Omg the weights felt heavy. It is a while since I did weights and I can really tell. My arms were like wobbly twigs by the end of it. The workouts take ages though. 45mins at least. Not sure how that will work on a week day.

I’ve not been as good as you on the calories. I’m plus/minus 100 cals from my goal most days. Did ok ish today. Just got to get through tomorrow now, then plain sailing Monday - Thursday. Smile

Theromanempire · 15/09/2019 09:03

purple I was exactly the same about cross country! Absolutely hated it and I am certain that is what has given me a lifelong hatred of running!

The workouts are long and agree it's difficult to fit them in. I got creative with day 2 in that I had to drop DC1 off at an activity at 7 for an hour so I did the weights bit before we left, dropped him off, came home and did 21df part and then went back to pick him up for 8. It actually worked quite well Smile other than that, I'm just going to spread them out over more weeks than the calendar!

I hadn't realised that in the real time 21df, she increases the intensity of the exercises each week...can't wait HmmHmm

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 15/09/2019 09:56

Ooh roman considering what day 1-3 did to me I hat to think what it will be like by the end [scared face emoji] My diet is a mess at the mo but if it continues to go down I will be happy enough!

PurpleI was over too but by way more even though it didn't feel like I had a lot which is weird.
cross country sounds a nightmare - PE teachers have a lot to answer for, which is weird cause a couple of my old friends became PE teachers and they were lovely. I have lost touch with them now - wonder if they are like that too now - hope not!

Purpleraindeer · 15/09/2019 20:12

That’s a good idea to split the workouts roman. I might try that. I also skip the warm up for the 21df bit. I am sooooo sore today from chest yesterday and am already feeling sore from back/biceps today. Ouch. It is amazing how quickly your strength goes, but let’s hope it can come back as fast.
I haven’t logged food on mfp at all today. Ate healthily but no idea how much and was out so couldn’t weigh it obviously! I feel really self conscious when I’m watching my diet as I feel like everyone thinks I’m neurotic as my weight is healthy - I’m just heavier than I was this time last year and I worry about slippery slopes!

I think PE teachers just get horrible when in front of the kids. They must hear a lot of excuses and whining so I don’t blame them really, but I’m sure if they were more encouraging the kids would whine less.

Theromanempire · 16/09/2019 09:30

So, after dirty 30 on Saturday, my sides are in agony and actually hurt just by me touching them! Those side bends Confused did Liift full body hit yesterday and forgotten just how awful it was. So all in all, a good weekend GrinGrin

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 16/09/2019 12:25

Hey everyone, hope you had a good weekend.

AF arrived today. Thought it would. It's weird how disappointing it suddenly becomes. I've never looked forward to them but there's now an added downside. Oh well. Keep on trying Smile no workout today. Just eating well with some chocolate added in and trying to feel better. Sodding hormones. Sodding womanhood.

Reastie I know its mad isnt it? He doesn't look 61 and he doesn't act 61. I'm not quite sure about his thing about ageing is for idiots. It's a bit odd. It's not really something you can avoid Grin
Well done on your weight loss. Are you happy with your progress?

Oh well done on your loss too yum ! Yeah I think you're right. I've found something that works. Until I'm really bored theres no need to change it Grin
Forced to run a mile and star jumps? Seems unlikely... was she exaggerating the mile bit? Grin

Well done in keeping within your calories Roman . Been a long time since I've stayed within mine. I try not to feel guilty about it as that makes it worse. You're obviously in a great mindset/headspace at the moment which is fab. And any loss is a win, that much closer to your goal.

Haha purple the stories I could tell you about PE teachers. They're all the same in schools...all of them are party animals. Every single school I taught at, every staff party - PE teachers were the ones who caused the most havoc.
I think they're in a difficult position because most kids are resistant to physical education so they do their best to be motivating. Some people respond well to chivvying, some don't. The best ones I've seen use music to really get them going.

Any news from you hippie ?

yumyumpoppycat · 16/09/2019 22:49

Plink Chocolate Flowers I hope the BFP comes soon x

You are probably so right about dd (8yo) and PE - she has a tendency to exaggerate - to be fair she would have had to run a mile (laps round the field ) but maybe the hardcore nature of this was overstated a little Wink

I have a cold and didn't end up exercising but I did use dp's crosstrainer yesterday to do a preset workout with some music on alexa and it was kind of fun and no aches the next day! Planning to do some weights tomorrow.

Roman and Purple that hybrid sounds hellish, but fun Grin Well done for giving it a go. Is it all set up on BBOD or do you have to select the workouts?

Hope you are well Reastie if you see this!

Reastie · 17/09/2019 16:02

Hi all,

Sorry, been absent a bit. Still physically struggling to recover and exercise but won’t bore you with details. If I’m lucky I’ll do one gentle cardio and one yoga workout a week. Still batch cooking to try and keep a semblance of a healthy diet.

Yumy your dds pe teacher sounds like a hard taskmaster! I hated school pe, never really liked any of the sports we did, it was all team or competitive stuff whereas I prefer just doing stuff on my own or a class which school lessons were nothing like. I didn’t really exercise ever until I was mid 20s at least. Dh keeps saying dd needs to exercise more but not really sure how to do this as she isn’t that interested in anything sporty. We’re getting her a bike for Christmas I think so hopefully will manage to use that. Hope your cold gets better soon.

Plink I’m sorry about af. Did it take many months ttc previously? Thev2ww is so stressful and you forget how much until you’re in the middle. Another month of enjoying workouts I guess... thanks for asking if I’m pleased with my progress. I’m miserable I’m still a size 16 when I was 12 but I’m proud to be still losing weight given I gained weight bfing dd. Dd asked me yesterday when I woukd fit in my old clothes and I asked her if she thought I had a long way to go and she said ‘quite a long way’ 🤣😂. Ahh the honesty of kids!

Thermo I’ve got about a stone and a half left to go too, we can do it together!!

PlinkPlink · 17/09/2019 16:46

Thanks yum and reastie well technically about 3 months probably? But we had been on holiday, superbly relaxed, continuously tipsy (therefore even more relaxed, sunning it up every day in Palma, dtd every day. I wasnt even actively tracking my cycle. Just using it to know when I'd have af. So DS was a very happy accident.

Difference now is we've actively decided we want a 2nd but we now have to plan a bit more. It's hard to fit any sex in with a little one running us ragged all the time 🙈😂😂 (Tmi?)

You're doing brilliantly! I remember that feeling so well though. Try and blot out those negatives. Haha bless her. I distinctly remember looking in the mirror and just hating the way I looked (even though I probably looked fine). It was just such a far cry from where I was pre-pg and where I wanted to be. But it got there. I used to keep a track on our kitchen whiteboard of my weekly weight so I could see it everyday. Was quite a good motivator. You too will get there - you just want it to happen now. How is DS sleeping? Is DD at school?

Purpleraindeer · 17/09/2019 21:03

I remember the 2ww/af coming cycle so well. It was totally depressing. It is a lot different ttc with a toddler too - ovulation sticks help! Hope you’re ok plink. It took a looooong time for us with dd and I learned it was important not to put life on hold as that made the waiting worse.

Yesterday I would have posted that I was enjoying the hybrid - especially doing weights again. Today, not so much. Did the booty workout. It was 60mins!!! That is not practical for me (and the work out was a bit boring) so I did 2x circuits and missed the 3rd. I didn’t have a band so did it with weights or nothing. I was expecting it would be easy but it wasn’t so god knows how hard it is with the band. Did you do the whole thing Unmodified roman - respect.

Theromanempire · 17/09/2019 21:43

Plink that disappointment when your period arrives is not good is it? The sensible part of you knows it is early days but the heart is desperate for a BFP Sad And yes, it is so much harder when you have a toddler aswell - no more day time action unless you use nap time Grin. It will happen Smile

Purple I haven't done any of the booty ones - I am missing them out as I don't really enjoy the 80DO workouts, they are too long and my ass is big enough as it is Grin I feel that Joel's Legs workout does enough for my bum and I don't have a chance of getting DH to do a full booty workout!

Yum it isn't set up on BBOD - you have to individually select the workouts. Hope the cold gets better soon.

Reastie we CAN do this together! Ideally I would have liked to have done it by Christmas but I think that is highly unlikely tbh.

So I did the first workout of week 2 today which was back/biceps weights and week 2 total body cardio. So, TBC was escalated by Autumn switching the move up after 30 seconds and I was dreading it but, to be honest, I actually found it easier than last week Shock I think doing the same move for 60 seconds is quite dull and monotonous so seems harder (if that makes sense) whereas this breaks that up a bit. Anyway, I quite enjoyed it Smile
In fact, I am quite enjoying the 21df real time workouts and think I might give the whole 3 week programme a go once we have finished this hybrid calendar.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 18/09/2019 21:40

I agree re 60s moves roman. I work harder if they’re 30s. I really like 21dfx and the real time version and I’ve enjoyed the 21df which are part of the hybrid too. Apart from the 10min abs today. Omg - it was so hard - millions of crunches. My abs cramped up. That has never happened. It was so much harder than the 21dfx version.

Managed to stick to my cals today despite feeling really quite hungry this afternoon. Diets are hard work!

Reastie - you can definitely lose that baby weight. You’ve done it before - you’ll get there! It is tough doing it with a small baby though so don’t be too hard on yourself

Hope you’re all ok Smile
