Can I join as well please?

Did W1R1 today. My, it was not pretty but I did it! I won't pretend I found it easy, at the end of the first 60 seconds I thought my feet were made of lead but by the end I was already finding it a bit easier.

I have 3 stone to lose, 2 of which I lost and put back on along with an extra one for good measure. I really want to tone up whilst I'm losing weight this time, so my plan is to run Mon/Wed/Fri and swim on Tue/Thur.

Should I stick to the every other day with the running though or is it okay to take a 2 day break at the weekend?

I am both looking forward to and dreading the next run! Feels awful doing it but great afterwards!

Did my first run of the c25k last Wed. Plan to run Wed, Fri and Sun.
Looking ahead at the runs still feeling a sense of dread when it suddenly jumps to a long run that I’ll fail...😬

I’m taking a 2 day break Mon and Tues so assuming it’s ok... 🙂

JSB78 I'm the same, I have a 20 minute run later this week (w5 r3) and am very nervous. Today it is two 8 minute runs so a big jump.

I did w1d3 last night and found it ok up to about halfway, easier than the previous 2 times, but the second half was tough . I really can't imagine being able to run any longer than 60 secs but I'll find out tomorrow night when I do w2d1!

Well done on the first run! I started in Sept last year and am now running 5k 3-4 times a week. It really does work, so stick with the program.
You will find lots of support and useful advice on here, I certainly have

Just done W2R1... it felt v tough! Still can't imagine keeping going for 3 or 5 or 20 mins! Glad there's all these people saying it works or I think I'd doubt it.

vjg13 Good luck with your wk 5 run, I help run C25k programmes at our local running club (became a leader after doing c25k myself), and out of the hundreds of runners no one has ever failed to do it. Think positive and remember all those times you thought you couldn’t do it and you did. Although its 20 minutes in one go you’ve just done 16 minutes total running...keep your pace an breathing under control and you’ll nail it ! If it gets tough just count to 100 or to the next lampost and you’ll soon get there.

Thanks Notageek that's really encouraging. Going to really go for it on Thursday!

Joined a women's running club 2 weeks ago and there are about 15 of us doing C25K. Much easier doing it together just the training ones which are tricky. Can't imagine running a 5K 90secs is proving challenging, really helps with peoples success stories 😊

Only week 2 with me, and yes it's tough but you feel so bad when you get back from a run!

@Shepherdspy83 I did week 2 day 1 today too, felt ok until the last couple of runs. I'm quite enjoying it so far.

How was it @Twiglet2353 ? I'm doing that one tomorrow

@Fiddie on run 3 out of 6 I'm at the point where I want to throw in the towel, but then lovely Sarah Millican's voice tells me I must be feeling tired but to keep going, so I do. Past run 4 you're on the home stretch so it gets easier.
Daren't look at what Week 3 has to offer but determined to try and do it! Smile

Did W1R2 today. My calves felt really tight from about run 3 onwards and I was about to give up but managed to see it through!

I did wear new trainers today and wonder if they contributed to the calf tightness. Will see how I get on on Friday!

I have an exercise class on Friday's so will be doing both, will have a couple of hours in between though. I've not told anyone (including my husband) that I'm doing this so am doing the runs Mon/Wed/Fri!

Today is the day for W1R2. I was supposed to go out yesterday but it was chucking it down for most of the day so I binned it off. Blue skies today, so no excuses.

Go easy - I downloaded it a couple of years ago & now have 1 very damaged knee

Loseitandkeepitlost, your tight valves is just your muscles getting used to the exercise, don't worry just keep going and it will get easier.

Focus on making sure your warm up walk is very brisk though - makes you out of breath a bit. Muscle tightness is just your muscles warming up, so if you warm up walk before hand (which is the purpose of the first 5 minutes) it should be easier

No reason you can't run and do your exercise class on Friday. In fact the run will be good warm up for your exercise class. Maybe in a few months time you'll be able to run to get to your class, do your class and then walk home?! That would be excellent for your fitness.
