After doing this in 2018 a new thread for new folk to join the 2019 challenge. Pick your target, log your miles and see what you can achieve whilst encouraging each other Smile Anyone want to join me?

6.5 on the treadmill, too rainy to get out but I needed to run after having a week off. Annoyingly I had a fair bit of DOMS after hiit workouts this week so I got off to an achey start but still enjoyed it, it's nice to be back!

Well done on the treadmill run that takes some focus. I did yoga and had a walk with the kids. Hope to get a split run in tom with car back in garage again. It keeps messing up my long run day and then it will be Halfterm so that will bugger up next Monday too! It my only day off work so I use it normally to get the HM long run training done so hoping to do 2 runs tom to get the planned kms done.

32.4 miles of walking done this week. Not what I wanted but I'm happy with it!

1488.95/11.05

Pretty sure I can manage 11 miles this week!

TriSkiRun99 · 14/10/2019 13:04

Good luck hitting you target Amy, are you going to keep going?

Had pouring wet rain 8k run from garage, then 5k dash on my bike to Pilates class. Had hoped to add another 4K run on but weather is horrid and can’t face getting cold & wet again. And still need to collect car again & do school run ☔️

@TriSkiRun99 thanks! I'm going to keep going until the end of the year. I'd love to get to 1750 miles by new year but I think that might be a step to far!

I kept my stats from last year so will be good to see where I am!

TriSkiRun99 · 15/10/2019 11:43

Squeezed in 4K run this morning that I’d planned yesterday.

A crisp 7km this morning, my first road run since my race. I felt it!

I'd like to hit 1700 km this year, which is a do-able target but challenging enough, with the impending autumn/winter weather, commitments and cough/cold season.

So that's 297km to go in 77 days, a daily average of 3.8 km. up until October I would have said I'd smash that but my October average is currently a pitiful 2.25 so I will need to pick my distances up a bit!

Within that target I'd like to be pulling my total distance back up to 16km/10 mile as well, as I've dropped back recently as training for the 10km meant I ran 12's max. I'm deciding on my half marathon for next year so if I can get my training up to 16k by December then I could be half-ready by April/May

Well done StarStarStarStarStar

I did 4.5 on the treadmill today, wanted to do 5 but my speaker ran out of battery- I draw the line at treadmill running with no music!!

Great effort Amy 🏅

Gosh running on a treadmill takes serious effort bear, I was listening to Run Pod with Susie Chan & she broke the treadmill distance record for non-stop 12hrs but said she got seasick after 9hrs and commented on how hard it is on the legs due t the constant pace needed. I’m really enjoying the Run Pod as motivation to go out and run on those days your struggling for motivation Smile

Just did a late eve 5k whilst waiting for eldest DD to finish her club. Feels like I’m back into “winter” training mindset now. Just hope my feet hold up as been getting a phew problems lately so may change my trainers even though they not that old...

Tri it's just so boring, i feel every step! I usually do one a week on there though and I do tend to do sprint intervals, so today I did 2km at 12k/h and then sprint intervals at varying pace up to 14k/hr. I'm trying overall to get my pace up so my race pace is a 5 minute km

TriSkiRun99 · 21/10/2019 21:52

Wow that’s fast bear good running goal. I’d love to be able to sustain 6min/km longer than 5k 😂that’s my ParkRun Pb but my longer runs lately have all been 7min/km splits. I enjoy that more just plodding along looking at the scenery & getting lost in my thoughts Grin whereas ParkRun I feel like I’m gonna puke at the end! My DH just seems to go out and run fast regardless but he’s also 2.5st lighter than me and 5” taller Blush a lean whippet! He once said why don’t you work on getting faster, my reply if I lost 2st I’m pretty sure I would but 🤷‍♀️ that never seems to happen...

TriSkiRun99 · 23/10/2019 07:33

Think I’ve got plantar fascia Sad I’ve never had foot problems before but started getting twinges last week and after my long run Sunday they were quite sore then yesterday couldn’t even walk 10mins without arch pain. I’ve been stretching & need to try a insert in my shoes I think. Grrrr just as I was getting back into running again. Hopefully a short rest/stretch/Ice will sort it. Hope to swim instead later.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/10/2019 11:51

Oh no tri it's painful! I got a touch of it when we moved house and had all tiled floors, I think it was caused by impact. I managed to stave it off though, thankfully. Rest it!

I did 15k today, it was tough but I really wanted to break the 12k barrier, it's been a long time since I went that far

Split 5km today (1km run, got called back home, then 4 km treadmill)

TriSkiRun99 · 25/10/2019 21:50

Forgot to log Wednesday swim and did a Pilates class yesterday. Tried to do some yoga and few body weight exercises too today. Foot still being niggly and now shoulder is sore Sad ffs! Then had vomiting child in early hours so really hoping it’s not gonna spread..fingers crossed so far the rest of us are ok...had hoped to do ParkRun tom but weather looks shocking and really feel my foot would benefit from another day off.

Had a 5k walk in rain yesterday to test out my foot, it was ok not pain free though. Ran 8k this morn with over half that on sand Smile it was lovely day & beach was fab. Foot ok as sand was less impact. Think I’ll just have to manage it for a while, plus I ran in my old trainers to see if that was better.
Well done running with DH bear mine is SO much faster than me he probably speed walk whilst I ran 😂

Ran a slow ran 5.5k this morning in my old trainers. Tried some Mizuno WR but they again too narrow so going to try re-lacing my current shoes differently to see if that helps my foot plus had a fab sports massage today which always helps.
