After doing this in 2018 a new thread for new folk to join the 2019 challenge. Pick your target, log your miles and see what you can achieve whilst encouraging each other Smile Anyone want to join me?

I gave up logging it early in the year Blush

My garmin reckons I walked/ran 1871 miles, but I don't know actually how accurate that is. Probably not very.

I've got 786 miles logged on strava for walking/running and 447 miles cycling. I only activate strava when I consider it exercise rather than commuting and I do a fair bit of walking and cycling day to day.

Long run training this morning, started off feeling sluggish too much Xmas sugar, so told myself do 6m, then 8m and found a 2nd wind and got to 10miles which Im pleased with. I had wanted 14m on my training plan, but body wasn’t doing it today. So I listened to my sore feet & niggly hip. Plus I’ve got the kids all day too which is knackering Xmas Grin

Hope you both had good Xmas Days with your family’s and kids not too hypo! Mine both collapsed last night into bed. DH up early went and ran 8m but the weather is horrid so I made myself do 45mins on the bike trainer in the shedXmas Grin watched a TV prog whilst pedalling and the wind & rain lashed at the door. I feel I can now sit down now all day and eat chocolate guilt free Xmas Smile whilst making jigsaw puzzles with the kids in the dry.

Hope you feel better soon amy and well done on the walking you have done brill this year and juggling it with young kids too & work is hard!

Take care bear lots of stretching and rest hopefully it will mend in time.

I’ve had a fab sports massage Monday she spent ages on my left calf which I knew was causing issues with my foot. Had a gentle swim today with my youngest DD only did about 10L as we were playing and calming her anxiety down Pre-Xmas.

Late update again...its me that's been ill this time! Think I've finally caught what my little one has had!

28.63 miles of walking done this week. It would have been more but I've barely left the house the last few days as I've been so ill! At least its clearing for Christmas!

1758.27

Wondering if I can make 1800 by the end of the year.

Congrats @TriSkiRun99

A very tentative 2km on the treadmill today, slow and steady. Slightly painful, more tight that anything actually, but nice to get back to it.

I plan to do alternate days 2km until I either feel recovered, or feel worse and have to stop again.

Sorry to hear you are struggling with injury, could you try cycling? Either a static bike, bike trainer or outside as it exercises similar muscles but without the weight baring or swimming? Hope you get some relief soon.

Well done tri that's amazing!!

I've now done 14 days without running. I still have a slight twinge every so often in the glute/hamstring area. I've done yoga a few times now to stretch it out, and from tomorrow I'm going to add in some strength stuff too, and some weights as I'm feeling very bored without exercise, although I'm reluctant to run until I've had a few properly pain free days at least. Not sure what to do really, I expected/hoped it would be better by now Sad

Weird this should pop up now, I'd forgotten I'd joined in January.
But great timing because tomorrow will be my last parkrun of the year and will include my 1000th mile. Pretty chuffed as I've had a month out with injury in summer and realised last month I need to get my arse in gear otherwise I'd fall short.
My calves and Achilles hate me, but I'm dragging myself round tomorrow no matter what.

Glad the yoga is helping bear, I have to stretch daily and I can’t wait for my sports massage on Monday to sort out my tight calf which I think is aggravating for foot. Your be fine running after a couple of weeks off, just may have to take it slower I find. Gd luck.

Hope your Lo Amy are healthy for Xmas, we still have 2/4 sick in our house and limped to the end of school term today!

Currently on day 12 of no running, and I'm finally feeling some improvement in my pain so I'm going to keep it up for a few more days. I've been doing Adrienne's runners yoga the last few days and that had really helped, and yesterday I finally felt brave enough to try the foam roller which I did for 20 mins or so after the yoga. The sharp twinging pain is subsiding now and I'm left with a bit of a dull ache so hopefully another few days off it will help with that.

My only worry is that I'll really struggle when I finally do go out!

Still lurking! I'm now on day 5 of no running, 2 days post massage. I still have some glute pain and although I am itching to run I know I can't/shouldn't. I did gently test myself on the school run today with Ds doing a few 'races' - still painful so I'm being good and staying in for a few more days.
