Broke my 9day Yoga streak yesterday with a long work day but did some again this morning and swam km at lunchtime. Got Tri on Sunday, once that’s out the way I can shift my focus back to running as not been out since last Sat whilst nursing a cold and other stuff.

34.68 miles of walking done this week! Helped by my little mine being off nursery for a few days so I was able to squeeze in a few long walks!

If I can fit my initial 1500 mile count by early October I'll be very happy.

Slightly frustrated was all kitted out to run after school drop off but youngest is off sick with heavy cold and now I’m feeling rather blarrr too Sad was looking forward to a cooler run before the day heats up. This time of year is pants for colds/bug as kids constantly bringing them home from school. Hohum. Hope your having better days.

I'm now having 2 or maybe 3 days off as my hamstring is giving me trouble and I need to rest it. Someone hide my trainers please!

TriSkiRun99 · 20/09/2019 10:35

Hope your hamstring settles down bear, will a sports massage help? I get one monthly keeps my dodgy hip moving. I’m feeling glum not run properly for nearly 2wks now as focused on the bike & swim for the Tri last week and now this week I’m on the sick bench grrr back to school bugs feeling fed up now, but then really guilty as it’s not anything life changing or life limiting just a crappy cold/throat infection, but given in and finally taken today off work to veg. Also broke my yoga every day streak, I need to do some today as it does make me feel bit better.

TriSkiRun99 · 20/09/2019 10:38

Your doing brill amy especially after going back to work after maternity and keeping it all going. I just got slam dunked after my mat leave with endless bugs and lack of sleep my fitness went out the window then. Good luck for your 1500 Oct goal!

Thanks tri, I actually think it's my massage that has aggravated it, I was incredibly knotty as I've been running 18 months and basically never really stretching or resting properly, so she had to really work hard. The pain has subsided a bit today after 2 days rest, but has moved to behind my knee. I'm going to wear my knee support for a day or two to see if that helps.

TriSkiRun99 · 22/09/2019 13:25

If your feeling it in your knee I hesitate to suggest it’s not your knee but it could be a tight IT band which I’d foam roller and make sure the front thigh muscle is stretched out. When I have hamstring issues it’s not been solved by stretching it more but releasing the muscles around it (it’s also the only time my knee has niggled when muscles tightened around it). Good luck hope you can ease it without too much discomfort. I’m still sat on sofa with the biscuits Sad but did some yoga the last 2 mornings which has helped.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/09/2019 15:10

I did wonder if it was IT related, I don't have a foam roller though. It's that strange crunchy/clicky feeling behind my knee. I've worn my brace this afternoon and it has eased it a bit.

amysaurus87 · 23/09/2019 03:30

Thanks @TriSkiRun99 it's been hard going back to work, I've been getting a lot of cold too, and I now have a chest infection, the broken sleep and commuting I'd really starting to take its toll on me. I know if I could get a few nights of full sleep I'd probably feel much better!

Despite the chest infection I still managed 27.32 miles of walking this week!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/09/2019 07:12

Amy well done, you're so close to your goal now! Hope you feel better soon

amysaurus87 · 23/09/2019 07:57

@thenewaveragebear1983 thanks, got a nice course of antibiotics and that should shift it!

I'm aiming for a decent mile count this week, but with the weather we've been forecast that could be unlikely!
