Exercise every day 2018

Anyone up for tracking some exercise every day in 2018?

I currently do yoga and bootcamp classes at the gym and stopped running in September due to an injury (but not injured any more!)

I don't drive so walk everywhere. I wouldn't count walking as exercise unless I went further/faster on purpose, but willing to count say 20 mins easy yoga so that I don't burn out with intense exercise every day.

I'm hoping the streak will appeal to the my obsessive nature and mean that I push myself to do more this year.

Anyone else up for it? Grin

I know really, I'm just having a grumble. I do get out quite a bit, it's just when work/house/kids get hectic 'me-time' gets squeezed. I can't complain to be fair. I have managed to squeeze at least something in every day.

That said, first aqua aerobics class tonight. It was absolutely hilarious - good fun. 26/365 done!

Beach I think it's really important to listen to your body. There's no need to be flat out every day and it's definitely not worth risking your performance on the marathon. Why don't you do some stretching on rest days or a bit of low intensity strength work - that will hopefully complement your running.

Life a half marathon is an awesome goal. Kudos.

Day 27/365 done.
Finally got back to doing 5K on the treadmill. I was doing it last year on the road but then stopped when DDog passed. I was incredibly slow today, taking 8 minutes for each k, but I did it. Woo hoo!

All up 90 minutes in the gym today. I'd only planned to be 60, but I had the place to myself, so couldn't resist staying Grin.

Beaver how nice of your instructor! And well done for all your hard work.

VivaLeBeaver · 27/01/2018 07:12

quinoa. Gym to yourself in January? Wow. Our place is rammed.

QuinoaKeen · 27/01/2018 07:33

Beaver it's the Australian Day long weekend here. Everyone is drinking beer! Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 27/01/2018 07:43

Ah that explains it. I hate how busy it is at the minute.

Submariner · 27/01/2018 10:35

Viva I missed your update. Well done - you must have been chuffed!

Kids are on a playdate so me and DH hit the gym. Tried to do the same exercises as last time and I had improved on them all so happy with that. 27/365 :)

Yeah I was really chuffed. Not sure if he’s flirting a bit or if I’m reading too much into it. Was just a random fb message out the blue thanking me for my support earlier that day which he always appreciates (all I’d done is help pick up a couple of woggles after aqua). And then the message about how I look in really good shape.

26 and 27/365 run.

Should not run two days in a row, my body did not like it!

Aim for feb is to try a bigger range. I have rollerskating lined up and want to try powerhoop and some youtube dance videos. Anyone else got any aims?

Lifeisabeach · 27/01/2018 21:29

Day 27 - 5k at parkrun

QuinoaKeen · 28/01/2018 05:37

Roller skating sounds fun Bestbees

Day 28/365 done. A short dance workout:

VivaLeBeaver · 28/01/2018 08:27

Did body pump again yesterday.

Am meant to be meeting gym instructor to go for a run outside of the gym this morning but am worried about how slow I am and that I will embarrass myself so thinking of messaging him to bottle out of it. It’s not a class, just meeting for a run.

Have got a core class later on today.

Submariner · 28/01/2018 15:58

Did you go for the run Viva? I hope you did!

Gym today, I did some different bodyweight exercises on the bench and step that got me breathless and a bit on the bike and treadmill.

Best my current goal is to conquer my fear of the treadmill! It makes me really nervous so I'm working on going faster and letting go of the handles. Blush I promise I'm a proper grown up in other areas of my life, but I've always been a bit dodgy about moving things like escalators.

What's powerhoop?

28/365 - 4 weeks of 52 done!

Yes I went for the run. Did 3.5k in 28 mins which is embarrassingly slow and I felt like I was going to die the whole time. Thing is I did a Park run just before xmas which is 5 k in 33 mins so not sure why I was slower today. When I did park run I ran/walked/ran/walked the whole thing which I guess must be quicker for me than a slow constant run/jog.

Did 40 mins of free weights afterwards and then a core class.

VivaLeBeaver · 28/01/2018 16:03

submariner I always have the emergency clip attached on the treadmill as I have the fear of falling over on it, etc.

Bestbees · 28/01/2018 21:22

Well done viva! I think conqueribg the fear is so important. I was not a sporty child and i let that stop me exercising for so long.

Great goal Sub. If it makes you feel better i went spinnig once and fell on the stationary bike. Powerhoop is hula hooping with weighted hoops.

Bestbees · 28/01/2018 21:23

28/365 swam a mile. Walk of about 5k with dh this evening rather than going to the pub while she babysat.

Lifeisabeach · 28/01/2018 22:14

Day 28 - slow 8 mile run with OH this morning while kids were at a club

QuinoaKeen · 29/01/2018 10:20

Day 29/365 done sort of.

Feeling really unwell today - headache, sore throat etc and almost considered ending my streak. I found a 15 minute HIIT workout on YouTube and did that. Better than nothing I suppose.

Lifeisabeach · 29/01/2018 22:20

Day 29 - 40 mins cycling on the turbo trainer. Not really feeling it today and probably could have tried harder!

Hope you feel better soon Quinoa

Submariner · 29/01/2018 22:41

Thanks Best I can imagine falling off the stationary bike! I did get stuck in the rowing machine last week at bootcamp! BlushGrin

Sorry to hear you're unwell Quinoa. I found a yoga video which may be nice for tomorrow?

Day 29/365 done - yoga at home.

Submariner · 29/01/2018 22:43

Errrm ... The real video this time, not the advert!!

Confused

To bed with me!
