3.1 this morning.

Total 2258.36

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 11:49

9.75 to add but am too miserable to do the sum on my phone

my confidence is shot, hm next weekend and found this shorter distance at a slower pace horrible and hard and all my little aches pains and every twinge intolerable

poor me :(

Suzannewithaplan · 29/01/2015 12:06

?oh poor Mitchy :(
So sorry you're feeling so rubbish :( ?

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 12:07

2268.11

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 12:29

thanks suzanne

am reviewing today's run on garmin and it wasn't that awful, would have been about 2:15? 2:16? for the half - it was just that my perception of the effort at the time was about 8/10 'ohmygodwhencanIstop' and my actual performance was about 4/10 so that discrepancy is depressing

but I will go out for some shorter runs between now and the race and probably have a great time on the day

actiongirl1978 · 29/01/2015 12:42

Mitchy, you know (and I know that you know) that sometimes we all have a crap run and that especially when the pressure is on, we make ourselves feel even more pressure.

It will all be fine. Lots of baths, rest, good food, rolling, practice some of your exercises from the PT, can you get a session in with her before the weekend?

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 14:00

thanks action good pep talk :) I DO feel better after a bath

my PT doesn't want to do anything much with me at all, especially since I hurt my back, but I need to get in touch with her if only to review whether I can get out of our contract

ThursdayLast · 29/01/2015 14:43

Hello everyone, sorry I've been awol but the Last household has been well and truly lurgified Sad

I'm on snow watch for Sunday. We never ever ever get snow down here, I can count the times I've seen it all my life on one hand, but now there's a threat when I have to drive for an hour and a half to get to a race!

Typical!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/01/2015 14:44

Sorry you had a rubbish run Mitchy1inge! As already said we all have bad runs, you've put in the training so try not to be too down Flowers

cinnamongreyhound · 29/01/2015 14:45

Wishing you all well ThursdayLast!

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 15:05

thanks cinnamon :)

Anglaise1 · 29/01/2015 15:16

Sorry you had a crap run Mitchy look after yourself, don't do too much next week before your HM and I'm sure you will feel better and fresh for your HM.
Good luck with your race Thursday I hope you make it despite the snow. We've even got some snow forecast here although it never lasts very long even if it does fall.
A very wet and windy but comfortable 13 miles in two hours from me this afternoon although something strange happened to my knee half way round.

Suzannewithaplan · 29/01/2015 15:45

no snow here but cold and windy.

Suzannewithaplan · 29/01/2015 15:49

starting to wonder if running in the cold has done something to my metabolism, I'm eating as much calorie dense food as I can cope with but my weight is still dropping.

I've always exercised quite alot but I feel as if running has flipped a switch somewhere in meConfused

HalleLouja · 29/01/2015 16:29

3.45 miles here.

Got hailed on at the end... I was going to go a bit longer but hail plus wind and being almost home meant there was only one place for me.

2296.24

orangeflutie · 29/01/2015 16:47

I managed 3.9 this afternoon and was pleased it went well as have had a cold and cough the last few days. It was my first run since Sunday.

Will probably not run until this Sunday when I'm planning to do 10 miles. Hope it doesn't snow!

Anglaise1 · 29/01/2015 17:30

Oops, sorry forgot to do the maths, sorry! You definitely burn more calories in the cold - I think there is an 'ice diet' out at the moment recommending that people turn down the heating to help lose weight. I'm jealous that you are losing weight Suzanne - I'd love to lose a couple of kgs but weight is sticking at around 59kg. I run a lot but eat a lot too. Need more willpower (and fewer almonds & less chocolate) to be lighter for HM in a month and M in March.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/01/2015 17:41

Meant to also say thanks OhOneOhTwoOhThree and AggressiveBunting! I don't feel impressive, just pottering along as well as I can and hoping to keep my sanity as long as I can Wink

Going to be in the East Anglian Daily Times tomorrow with my doggies and canicross club :)

Suzannewithaplan · 29/01/2015 18:08

I don't really understand it, you are faster and taller/weigh more than me Anglaise so you should burn more calories per mile than I do
perhaps I just have a very very inefficient running technique so that it uses up way more calories than it should?
Im just a shade over 46kg right now and I recon I eat about 3000 calories per day, which is a reasonable amount of food surelyConfused

Mitchy1nge · 29/01/2015 18:56

oooh will definitely pick up a copy of the EADT tomorrow, nice one cinnamon!

thanks anglaise, the race will be fun whether I run like shit or not, it's a flat and fast course so was hoping to do well but will be pleased with whatever - will get to see my brother and some friends anyway

cinnamongreyhound · 29/01/2015 19:41

Perhaps you should record you intake with my fitness pal Suzannewithaplan? 3000 calories and still loosing weight at 46kg sounds like something isn't quite right. Perhaps have a trip to the dr could be an overactive thyroid? Not to sound dramatic at all!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 29/01/2015 19:51

Chin up Mitchy all will be well

Am Envy of your 3000 cals a day Suzanne [shoock]

Hello Thursday hope the snow stays away. We have a sprinkling here, all the cars were covered when I came home this evening.

Glad you are well enough to run flutie

Will there be a link tomorrow cinnamon?

Waves to anyone I missed.

2 chilly windy lunchtime miles today - well that is what my garmin says, but I didn't notice it wasn't working for the first few minutes.

2294.24

Anglaise1 · 29/01/2015 19:53

Suzanne I can only dream of eating that much and not putting on weight. On a day like today I've burnt 3000 calories but that is with a combined walking and running total of 30km and I don't do that everyday - usually it is around 2300. My TDEE is a pathetic 1400cals if I don't do any exercise at all. I'd be huge if I ate 3000 cals every day, even with running.
I agree with Cinnamon maybe you should see a doctor to check everything is OK as eating 3000 cals a day and losing weight doesn't sound right. How tall are you? You must be below 18.5 BMI at 46kgs?

cinnamongreyhound · 29/01/2015 19:56

If it's online I'll post a link OhOneOhTwoOhThree. Dh is going to try and get a hard copy but we don't read newspapers so I'm not sure where to get it from. Will try local Tesco first :)

5madthings · 29/01/2015 20:15

I think if you are eating thar much and still losing its worth getting checked out, could just be metabolism but worth a check.

Wish I could lose, more, I am losing slowly, yet inches wise have lost two from,my waist, two from my underbust and my thighs are def looking trimmer, even dp noticed it today and he never notices stuff like that.

I did a slow 5km, 33 mins but had to go steady as it was snowy and icey, fun to run past all the cars in traffic jams though! And odd to just do 5km, almost felt like I hadn't exercised iyswim.

Am also in awe at preg running and good pace as well cinnamon

Am thinking of doing the Easton college 10km on 15th Feb, that weekend I should be doing an 8 mils run, so obviously it's not quite long enough, but the weekend after I should just do a 60 min run so could just switch them? Plus the route is described as undulating, I figure the hills will be good for me... Does it natter if I don't stick religiously to the.bupa prog I am following? It gets me to half marathon distance four weeks before my race in Manchester. Is it Ok to just swop the runs like that?
