5madthings · 27/01/2015 21:00

So 2205.86?

postmanpatscat · 27/01/2015 21:26

6.2 miles to add from me tonight makes 2212.06

Have done my Royal Parks ballot application so you others considering it had better get on the website if you're going to keep me company! Places are offered on Feb 6th.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/01/2015 21:49

I've just done mine too postman

My HM PB is 2:19, so if I get in I will be team tail runner Smile

clary · 27/01/2015 21:51

Did my 4.4 mile circuit round these streets again tonight, didn't feel like going out but once I was off it felt fab :) Had a bit of a crapola day one way and another so it was good to be doing something I could control 2216.46

MuseumOfHam · 27/01/2015 22:21

3.1 tonight, in light grey shorts, but loose fitting, so hopefully my sweat patches were less, er, embarrassingly anatomical.

Ran at a consistent 10kph pace, and managed to keep lovely form for the first 20 mins, upright, nice arm movements, feeling all flowing and bouncy. Finished up hunched forward, raggedy breathing, arms, no idea, wasn't really thinking about them. Next target - keep good form all through my run.

2219.56

stilllearnin · 27/01/2015 22:45

Just checking in to share that another 2 weeks off running and X-rays in a couple of days for me. That is what having new year goals do! Grrr

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/01/2015 22:59

Oh NO still what happened?

IKYTWTLYA · 27/01/2015 23:43

Oh no StillConfused

A little 2.3 here (so 2222.86) and my ankles didn't hurt!

AggressiveBunting · 28/01/2015 00:10

I've been pondering shorts-gate and wondering if my error was wearing normal knickers. Maybe I should go commando (shorts have a liner) and see if that makes a difference. Or maybe I just need to accept I am a sweaty betty and retire them as board shorts. So gutting though as they were so amazingly comfortable and light.

Suzanne Yes the Suunto's are expensive and actually, the ones with a lot of functionality are also heavy- I have to wear a sweatband under it or it bruises my wristbone. It probably was overkill- think DH might have been massively "upsold" when he went to get it (was my Crimbo pressie).

No running for me today- full day work training session and then need to do my real work this evening.

EElisavetaofJingleBellsornia · 28/01/2015 11:07

Another two lots of 4 from me. Plus massive relief that I'm not the only one with runner's bladder issues!

HesterShaw · 28/01/2015 11:16

Black is black for a reason. Oh yes.

I am having a two day rest. Nothing to do with period belly ache and awful weather, nothing whatsoever.

emummy · 28/01/2015 12:23

Welcome runtothehills,I'm in NE Scotland too and have been having fun with the icy trails.
No running today, did boot camp instead in a rather chilly wind. No snow yet so fingers crossed. Am a bit weary as was helping with the DD's' dance show rehearsal last night. Will also be helping at 2 of the shows, so not anticipating any fast runs this week! Did walk about a mile last night tho!

actiongirl1978 · 28/01/2015 12:37

hi everyone.
still what happened? I hope you are ok.
agressive I know I joked about it, but a really thin liner would do the job, I ran a race on sunday and had to use one or I know I would have been visibly sweaty at the end!
museum do you do any intervals? I find my form has massively improved since my speed work got better - something to do with blood and oxygen perhaps (I am sure there is a technical reason) or try slowing down just a tiny bit and see if you can maintain that form first.

I am adding my wednesday interval training of 4 miles. Got really warm, took my coat off, then it rained and I got soaked. The joys of january running.

actiongirl1978 · 28/01/2015 12:46

2234.86 including my miles and Eelisa's

Sorelip · 28/01/2015 16:28

4 from me to make 2238.86.

What a horrible run today. It felt like I was dragging bits of lead instead of legs around the park.

sassytheFIRST · 28/01/2015 18:10

Another 2.2 miles tonight. Nice to be running in near daylight at 5.15pm! Not far, I know, but loads of hill work due to where I live.

orangeflutie · 28/01/2015 21:02

No running for me today as I'm full of cold and feel rubbishHmm Sore throat on Sunday progressed..

Just seen local running club run past my house though and already miss running despite not feeling well enough.

HM a month away on Sunday and trying not to panic. Hope everyone else is keeping well.

beanandspud · 28/01/2015 21:04

3.1 here to add. Back on the treadmill though, too much of a wuss to face the snow and wind Blush.

Quick question for all of you that do park run, did you feel that you needed to be at a certain 'standard' before you braved your first one? I know that I could get round even if I needed to walk a bit but feel that I should be able to run 5k comfortably outside before I go along. Or is that just daft?

I'm smiling at 'shorts-gate' though. My running attire is very much black but more to try to look invisible!

Adding on my miles and Sassy's miles gives 2244.16 (I hope)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 28/01/2015 21:20

sorelip well done for going, even if it wasn't fun. Your next run will be better!

sassy I know what you mean. I left for work slightly later than usual yesterday and came home a bit early today and it was so nice to cycle home in daylight. I have heard birdsong in the early morning this week, so it must be getting lighter.

flutie rest up and feel better soon.

bean I was living overseas when I started running, so by the time I started parkrunning I could already run 5K in just under 30 minutes. parkrun is so inclusive that anyone can turn up - the tail runner (will be me this week at mine) will follow behind and nobody cares how fast/slow anyone is. Pop on to the parkrun thread and say hello!

I have packed my running gear for tomorrow - going out at lunchtime with a friend for a chatty jog around the parks Smile

MuseumOfHam · 28/01/2015 21:24

Actiongirl, you asked if I did interval training. I suppose so. I vary my pace between runs and within runs depending on what I am trying to achieve. When my form started going yesterday, I could have slowed down, but I have this ingrained thing that a positive split is BAD, and also I'd set out to run an even pace so just ploughed on. I sorted it tonight though. I started off with fairly poor lumpen form, and therefore was perfectly able to maintain consistent form throughout Grin

3.1 = 2247.26

stilllearnin · 28/01/2015 21:41

Hello you speedy lot Grin I have done something to my knee. I think the dr is being over-cautious but I am quite pleased he wants to investigate it. At least I will know. He has also said i should lose weight Shock It has been numb, my leg muscles are cramping like mad (in sympathy), and the baker's cyst keeps swelling and going down. Wasn't going to go to the dr but did not want to make it worse by carrying on or feeling my way through it. I will lurk for a while and may throw in the casual Envy In the meantime, I am doing toning and strength work, but not nearly as satisfying. I am allowed to walk on the mud and we have plenty of that!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/01/2015 21:52

beanandspud that is daft! Many parkruns have walkers so running and walking is perfectly fine. If you're worried about time check out the results from the last few weeks on your local parkruns page. We have finishers in 18mins and 45mins and we welcome them all. I personally had quite a respectable pb by he time ours started up but you really don't need to worry about time, EVERYONE is welcome at parkrun that's the beauty of it!

I don't need my head torch to walk the dogs in the morning now but still do when I run but it is getting better Grin

4 miles from me tonight, enjoyed it but have to stop at tops of hills and don't talk as much as I did! Little man is certainly taking his share of the oxygen now but physically I don't hurt anywhere. We did 4 miles in 45 mins so I'm not too ashamed!!

2251.26

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 28/01/2015 21:56

You are truly amazing cinnamon to keep going so long into your pregnancy.

AggressiveBunting · 29/01/2015 01:14

Adding 4 to make 2255.26. We've got 3 days to hit 2,500- can we do it??

Cinnamon I too am in awe, especially as it's not your first baby. With my first I was quite diligent and exercised (albeit not running- tennis and personal training) right up till the birth, but with my second I sat on my butt and ate licorice allsorts a lot.
