OhOne - I know but each time it kind of snuck up on me - I don't run all that much really Blush

I have some Nike Frees that I wear for the gym and the treadmill but I don't think they would give me enough support for running outside. And they certainly wouldn't cope with mud.

twobambinos · 25/01/2015 18:20

3.2 from me this morning not bad with a bit of a groggy head. 2074.4 + 3.2 is 2077.6 we are almost at the 2500 keep up the good work everyone.

Welcome Lucy well done on your marathon.

40 miles a week wow that is alot. This week I did 26km and that's probably my record. Plus 17km bike and two exercise classes. I like a bit of variety ??

Sazorchard31 · 25/01/2015 18:46

Cricket this thread moves quick! I've not run much this week (at all ha ha!) But just been for a 5.5mile run that puts the total at 2083.1.

Cracking afternoon for a run with it being a bit warmer, only need a t shirt and shorts!

Feet got soaked running round a local marine lake as it'd been a hide hide tide and water was still receeding. Angela's above you've reminded me i need new trainers esp after today's sea submersion!

Tiredemma · 25/01/2015 19:09

Gah- a very hard, arduous 3.8 miles.

Legs felt like LEAD.

Glad i got out. No need to cry now!

2090.1

Sirzy · 25/01/2015 20:21

Just entered the Manchester 10k with the aim to be faster than last year. Given a snail could run faster than I did last year then I will hopefully do it

ThursdayLast · 25/01/2015 20:24

original I really loved my Nike Frees - ive since realised that actually they're perfect for my foot strike and stride. I'm waiting to be able to afford another pair, my first were a present from my sis for my 30th.

I've got a 10k next week, I'm quite looking forward to it actually. It's sneaked up on me Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2015 20:33

One of our parkrun rd's is doing a 2015k in 2015 challenge OhOneOneTwoOhThree, but that includes walking too :)

Hoping to run tomorrow if governors meeting ends at a reasonable time!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2015 20:34

Was discussing an end of June race with club mates yesterday and said it may be a possibility and one, who I run with regularly, said she was banking on me being back to running in May Shock

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/01/2015 20:36

If I included cycling I would add on at least 10 miles a week. Maybe I should do that cinnamon Smile

5madthings · 25/01/2015 20:41

I cycle at least 8 miles a day just on school run with madthing5 in a seat on the back.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/01/2015 20:44

With dogs walks and school runs I easily walk 4 miles a day on week days, I keep meaning to wear my garmin when walking just to see Smile

Suzannewithaplan · 25/01/2015 20:48

I cycle around 30 miles a week so adding those would almost double my contribution.

Mind you, in terms of effort I think 5 miles on the bike = about 1 mile running, well thats how it feels to me anyway!

Suzannewithaplan · 25/01/2015 20:51

re running shoes I can see the logic of having more than one pair on the go Anglaise...guess I ought to keep an eye on the sales and grab my preferred shoes as soon as I see them at a good price

IKYTWTLYA · 25/01/2015 21:57

2.6 miles today. I'm getting better but a particularly steep section about halfway round nearly did me in.

Ankles are still killer. Will go and see the specialists next weekend.

2092.7

postmanpatscat · 26/01/2015 08:06

8.7 miles to add from yesterday to make 2101.4

Ballot for Royal Parks HM opens tomorrow, anyone going for it?

AggressiveBunting · 26/01/2015 10:12

Adding 4 from me to make 2105.4. Majorly busy week at work this week so no opportunities for long runs till the weekend.

Mitchy1nge · 26/01/2015 10:32

love love love love love that garmin helps you keep track of mileage per pair of shoes now

mine are usually fucked by about 350 miles, the fabric upper anyway, there is no wear on the soles whatsoever except in the toe bit but this is the bad thing about saucony I think (also asics used to be terrible for this) but then I use them for walking, as recommended by physio, so they are never fully retired

I rarely wear the same pair on consecutive days of running and have a few in circulation at any one time (only one pair of trail shoes though, the NB ones that are sort of hoka ish)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 26/01/2015 10:56

I do rather fancy the Royal Parks HM postman

postmanpatscat · 26/01/2015 12:13

ohone if you fancy running around 2:10 please join me - I was in a team of 9 last year but ran the whole thing by myself as I was slowest Sad

Anglaise1 · 26/01/2015 12:37

10 from me this morning, all finished in less than an hour and a half at easy pace.
2115.3

actiongirl1978 · 26/01/2015 13:55

Afternoon all. I am typing this from my phone as our internet has been down since Friday - I feel like I have had a limb torn off, utterly bereft Grin

I am adding 5 miles from a race yesterday. I was quite pleased with my time at 44minutes. I don't as a rule 'get' the PB thing, I run for enjoyment more than competition, but I think my average was just under 9 minutes. I don't think I could sustain that for my HM in April but maybe 10minute miles would be ok.

What I was really pleased with was my sprint finish of the last 250yds. I was holding tall, speed in my legs and feeling really strong. I think I am reaping the benefits of intervals Grin. I kind of wish I had sped up a bit sooner really!

Had a great pilates session this morning to stretch it all out, so feeling good.

I am currently saving for a new pair of trainers to run them alongside the current pair. does anyone else find trail shoes are nowhere near as comfy? I have salomon but I really avoid wearing them.

HesterShaw · 26/01/2015 14:44

Well done on your race result action. Sounds like some hard work has paid off.

2 very windy chilly miles from me. 2117.3

feetheart · 26/01/2015 14:54

Very tempted by Royal Parks too.
I have a PB on the slightly shortened due to human error Luton Half course of 2:13 but would like to think I could reduce it this year. Could we have a team?
