I have done another 7, a 3m on Weds and just come back from a 4m, the longest I have ever done. This thread is very inspiring.Smile

Thank you for the arm information.

2.33 miles at lunchtime - very slow recovery kind of run as legs very tired from my multiple runs yesterday.

Had wisdom tooth extracted this afternoon so feeling a little sore now, planning a weekend rest as not sure jolting my jaw about would be great!

5madthings · 23/01/2015 20:02

Ooh thar heart rate stuff is interesting anglaise thanks.

I shall take mine later and see what it is, not now though, dp is nearly four hours late home from work and the madthings are going crazy!

5madthings · 23/01/2015 20:03

Well done eellis

5madthings · 23/01/2015 20:05

Ouch Edith hope you feel better soon, am.impressed you got out for a run at all today, given.your runs yrsterday!

HesterShaw · 23/01/2015 20:14

Edith you are a DHB. Translation - double hard bastard. Well done!

And well done EElis on your four miles.

IKYTWTLYA · 23/01/2015 20:48

2.9 from me this evening. 1935.07 +2.9 = 1937.97

I was defeated by the final 30s though. Tried not eating much after work, but it turns out I think I need to eat more! Just totally felt like the oxygen was going in but there was no glucose there to react with (not true of course, but I taught respiration last lesson today so it was on my mind!)

Ankles sore again. Going to try my old shoes on Sunday and consider a gait analysis next weekend.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/01/2015 21:02

I was told by a coach to use arms to get up tricky hills. I know I use mine as my shoulders really hurt around 8-9miles, although can't remember the last time I ran that far!

EdithDickie · 23/01/2015 21:17

Ooh Hester thanks! I love DHB and will use it whenever possible! Grin

I can barely open my mouth now! Dh being sympathetic and also a little amused. Who knew dentistry could be so brutal?! Now the numbness is wearing off I feel beaten up! Sad But enough woe! Am going to get early night so good night all.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 23/01/2015 22:05

Hope you get some sleep and feel better on the morning EdithSmile

standingonlego · 23/01/2015 22:35

Laughing at actiongirls PT stretch description...mine has to pin my on the ground leg down with his knee whilst he stretches the others one out. I can always hold my toes afterward :) tis marvellous

clary · 23/01/2015 22:58

2.5 miles from me today taking us to 1940.47 - meant to go further but had limited time due to needing to make tea before getting to see DS2's panto... also it was raining icy needles but anyway - gonna try to do more on Sunday :)

AggressiveBunting · 24/01/2015 08:24

11.5 from me so I'll round to 1952. Nice fastish run on a mixture of trail and traffic free Tarmac. Wore my new compression socks and I think they were beneficial although maybe I was just having a good day. I tried calf sleeves before and didn't really rate them.

postmanpatscat · 24/01/2015 10:54

4.35 miles to add making 1956.35

Planning to do 13km (8 miles) tomorrow, hopefully, which will be longest run since HM last October. Ballot opens again next week and DP is keen that we apply. At least we have loads of time to train!

I know many of us do not have a DP/DH who is also a runner, but if you do...have they ever had blood in urine after a lot of running? DP spent two weeks in Dubai and ran 10-12km daily for 12 days out of 14. Since then, he's had two episodes of blood in urine. He's been googling and heard that some marathon runners sometimes experience this. He saw the GP yesterday and has been referred to urology.

originalpiratematerial · 24/01/2015 11:02

Morning all! Having a rest day today although will probably do a longish walk. Hoping to do six miles tomorrow, it's been a while since I ran that far. I also urgently need new shoes. I had two pairs of Brooks which I thought were ok. One developed a large hole on Thursday! I ran in the others yesterday - they are not completely worn out but I think they're well on the way!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/01/2015 11:19

Could be a dehydratin type thing postmanpatscat but good he's getting it checked out!

A fabulous 4.5miles with my canicross club and photos taken, beautiful morning a balmy 3C after yesterday's -7C Grin 1960.85

ThursdayLast · 24/01/2015 11:54

Adding my parkrun, and 6.5 miles from earlier in the week
= 9.6

1970.5

emummy · 24/01/2015 12:57

A nice easy 5.2 this morning, still a bit icy but not so bad
1975.7

HesterShaw · 24/01/2015 13:42

Lovely morning today. 3.2 miles from me.

By the end my hip was really hurting again so I had a look at my trainers and am Shock. Look at the state of the right one. Down to sports direct I go. I have always walked/run like this i.e. that's how my shoes have always worn, but I only just twigged about the effect it would have on legs and hips.

HesterShaw · 24/01/2015 13:43

And DH watched me the other day and my feet definitely hit the ground heel first!

HesterShaw · 24/01/2015 13:44

Oops

1778.9

cinnamongreyhound · 24/01/2015 13:46

Solid heel strike! My normal shoes wear like this, never had trainers that worn.

HesterShaw · 24/01/2015 13:49

I just hadn't noticed as until two and a half weeks ago I hadn't done concerted exercise for so very long.

ThursdayLast · 24/01/2015 13:55

I can really feel where I hit in my road nikes, and I'm deffo a mid foot striker, but to the outside of my food IYSWIM?
Sound familiar to anyone?

Anglaise1 · 24/01/2015 14:01

postmanpatscat I don't know any men with this but a couple of my girlfriends in the running club often have blood in their urine when they run hard (10k, half marathon races for example) They have both had tests but nothing conclusive, they are both very thin with minimum or below minimum BMI and that might have something to do with it according to the doctors.
Rest day for me too, just 12kms of fast dog walking.
