Happy New Year, everyone. If you've got a New Year resolution to do more exercise and think crazy Jillian may be the answer, come and sign in here for moral support, chat and a chance to moan.

Ripped in 30 L1 D2 done. Still hate cardio, but it felt like a good start to the year.

L1 d6 here. Also getting a bit bored and actually looking forward to the next level....

Mooogles · 17/01/2015 10:17

Just did level 2 day 2. Ugh, squat thrusts are as horrible as I remember! Glad it's fine for another day!

Sarahlouboo · 17/01/2015 10:44

Level 2 is tough (tougher than level 3 I think) but I really credit it with making my arms and core stronger. When I started off in plank my whole body shook in an alarming fashion! But yes I hate those squat thrusts! Those and knee highs are just evil.

Did T25 cardio (Shaun T) today with DH. Enjoyed it for something different. DH wants me to do the whole programme with him but I am torn as I have my lovely new JM box set! Happy shredding everyone. Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 17/01/2015 17:22

CheshirePanda - if you're gasping during the cardio, don't skip it - just pause the dvd till you've recovered sufficiently to do the next bit. I know JM goes on about 'no resting' but I often go as hard as I can and then pause to recover during cardio so it's HIIT, which is very good - probably better than trying to pace yourself to get through the full 2 mins and certainly better than skipping it.

When I first did shred - and probably the second and third times - I thought that squat thrusts were simply impossible but I can do them now. Which given that I'm 54 should hopefully encourage all you relative youngsters (I bet I've got a decade or two on many of you!) that if you stick with this you really will get fitter and stronger!

waitingforgodot · 17/01/2015 20:35

hi everyone-can I join? I've just done 30ds L1 day 2. I am walking about like an old lady especially going up and down stairs! Please tell me it gets easier! Am a total beginner

CheshirePanda · 17/01/2015 20:44

Good idea Errol, thank you. I did feel a bit guilty about not doing the full 100%
Had a shred less day today because I went mountain biking. If I can use my legs tomorrow I will back to Jillian for D2 of L2

CheshirePanda · 17/01/2015 20:48

P.S. hello waiting. Welcome to the group. I found L1 quite hard for the first few days, but it did get easier.

JustOneMoreGin · 17/01/2015 20:56

L1 D8 done! Can't wait to move to level 2 - getting a bit bored of level 1 now. Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday Smile

CointreauVersial · 17/01/2015 21:06

Not such a youngster, Errol - 48 in a month's time (eek!).

Mind you, I didn't do a stroke of exercise until I looked in the mirror and had a wake-up call at 43.

Anyway, I did L1D8 this morning. DH came in half way through and laughed at me, so I told him he needed to stand in front of me for the next exercise - the punches. Grin

Bimblepops · 17/01/2015 22:32

I hope he apologised, Cointreau!

RI30, W2, D4 done. Definitely improving my stamina, much less stopping and starting.

Errol - very reassuring to hear that you also pause the DVD's from time to time. I was worrying that it was just me!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/01/2015 11:40

waiting - just about everyone finds that their legs are like that for the first 3-4 days but then it really does get easier. Most people find that they feel less bad after doing the next session, so don't wait till they feel better to carry on! Smile

waitingforgodot · 18/01/2015 12:44

thank you!

CointreauVersial · 18/01/2015 17:22

L1D9 done!

I'm glad I have this thread because it's impossible to remember how many I've done otherwise. One more, then L2.

ElphabaTheGreen · 18/01/2015 18:33

Now Davina's doing a Webchat on Monday!

ShockGrin

Can't imagine she'll be as fab as Jillian was...

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 18/01/2015 18:39

Hello all. Can DD and i join? We did L1 D2 today (working on doing it every other day). Ouch.

I did it about 4 years ago and found it really painful initially but I obviously forgot just how painful Hmm.

I also run and use the gym so expected to find it easier recovery wise than I have. It obviously works a whole different set of muscles. Owwwwwww

waitingforgodot · 18/01/2015 19:39

Squeezy-you're at the same stage as me although I chickened out today and went on my bike instead. I could hardly walk this morning and coming down the stairs was unbelievable! No pain, no gain and all that! Will be doing day 3 tomorrow

wibblyjelly · 18/01/2015 19:58

Hi, ok if I join? Just completed day 6 of week one of the shred. Still can't get through the whole thing with out a few 5 seconds break, but pleased I've got this far!

CheshirePanda · 18/01/2015 20:33

Pleased to say I did L2 D2 today in the daytime, by bribing DD with2 episodes of ' I can cook ' on the iPad.

Bimblepops · 18/01/2015 22:32

RI30, W2, D5 done.

Still have to hit pause from time-to-time, but that's as much to wipe the sweat off as to catch my breath! But finding it strangely easy to do, once the first of the workouts is done.

Am dreading the change going to Week 3! Can anybody tell me...is it horrific?

ImogenQuy · 19/01/2015 07:10

RI30 L2 D4 done. Ugh. One day I'm going to feel I've nailed this workout, but today is not that day. Bimblepops, if you've got reasonably strong legs L3 is easier than L2 - I remember it being a big relief when I finally got through L2 last time round.

No bike today as I have to take DS to school - hoping to be back on it tomorrow.

Welcome Squeezy and wibbly.

ElphabaTheGreen · 19/01/2015 08:59

30DS L3 D3 done in bits around fiddling with a dodgy baby monitor, addressing a spat-out dummy and a baby who thinks 17 minutes is a perfectly acceptable length for a nap Hmm

My knees and shoulders have fallen out with me. They are not enjoying L3 at all.

Tangoandcreditcards · 19/01/2015 10:14

Hi everyone,
Can I join in too please? I shredded back in the summer and got myself nicely en route to pre-baby-weight but went back to work FT in Dec (DS 11mo now) and in the space of 6 weeks am well and truly back in the wibbly place. Weighed in at 13st (+2st on where i want to be) this morning, don't normally bother much with scales but needed a short-sharp shock.

But I've hit a new shred this morning. 30DSL1D1 done. Way harder than it should have been fitness-wise and it's going to be tough finding the time (early starts for me!) but I am back on the case!

Not looking forward to the aches and pains that'll catch up with me by Weds but I know it's a fair price!

littone · 19/01/2015 10:31

Can I join you? I have 9 month old Dc3 to crawl over me, as her nPs are getting better may try to do them instead. I am currently trying to exercise 5 days per week and make gradual changes to my diet (so I actually stick to them). 30DS L1 Day 2 completed. I am following Anita, no weights yet and resting as needed! Also doing reverse breathing as learnt at yoga rather than crunches during those bits....am aiming to get there and do all of level 1 at some point. As long ad I can see improvement in my fitness I don't care how long this takes!

Bimblepops · 19/01/2015 11:25

That's reassuring, Imogen.
I'll do my last Week 2 workout today and then sit down and watch Week 3, give myself a heads up on the exercises, so I don't end up in tears of confusion again when it actually comes to doing them!

wibblyjelly · 19/01/2015 12:37

Going to do l1d7 tonight. Am a bit concerned that I woke up this morning ache free for the first time. Either I'm getting used to it, or I didn't work as hard yesterday as i thought...
