Do it :) It's a nice one.

thenightsky · 30/05/2014 21:11

Calf muscle still bloody agony. Guess I will have to fork out for physio next week Sad

If anyone ever decides to do Scunthorpe, do PM me or something. I'll come and cheer on, even if I'm not running. DS always does it.

Blatherskite · 30/05/2014 21:17

I'll do Scunny one wekk thenightsky. Are you close enough to get to Cleethorpes now it's started?

Blatherskite · 30/05/2014 21:18

week even!

thenightsky · 30/05/2014 23:01

Blathers Load of my running club mates did Cleethorpes.

Scunny is quite flat and people come from miles to get a PB.

SUCH a good parkrun (AOWALC Wink) this morning. Did some nice chatting before and after, really feel like I'm starting to fit in a bit now.

And I'm almost certain I got a PB, just waiting on the proper timing to come in.

Hope everybody else has had a good morning too!

woundbobbin · 31/05/2014 10:56

Well done thursdaylast fingers crossed for your PB.
DH's poor sense of urgency very nearly caused me to miss the start today and as I was hurrying to the start line a small child leapt out from behind a wall shouting 'boo' and scared the crap out of me he said 'oh sorry I thought you were my dad' (I'm clearly a women btw) so not a good start but think I ran ok I desperately hope i got in under 28mins but think I'm prob just over
How did everyone else do?

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 10:58

Did Doncaster parkrun. Wow everyone's really fast there - I think I came last! I was embarrassingly slow as it was muddy and I'm not used to running through mud!

Anyway it was fun but I won't be rushing to open the email to check my time Blush.

ThursdayLast · 31/05/2014 11:20

Thanks bobbin, what an odd start to the run! I probably would have crapped myself!

I got a PB !
It's a mystery to me how each week goes so differently Confused

Knackerelli · 31/05/2014 11:25

Well done on your pb Thursday!

I'm so cross with myself. Our parkrun is 3 laps and I forgot what lap I was on Blush so instead of my normal sprint finish I stopped, looked at the time, looked for who else had finished as a gage, and ambled over the line still unsure if I needed to go round again! Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 11:27

Well done Thursday - that's fab!

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 12:21

Got my time - 32:44 so not brilliant but certainly not as terrible as I had feared! And I wasn't last either (not quite).

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/05/2014 13:04

Well done Thursday on your PB Smile

Shock bobbin (though your "I'm clearly a woman" did make me laugh)

Good going pirate

Oops Knackerelli. I did that too a few weeks ago, had to ask someone if we were nearly finished Blush

I was slow today - a whole 3 mins slower than last time Shock Blush. But I have been off for 3 weeks with injury and stayed up too late and drank too much wine last night

I did Huntingdon today. I had a horrible run. Felt fat and heavy and slow and was struggling to breathe so I was just glad to finish to be honest. Nowhere near a PB. I was over 2 minutes off!

My results email just cheered me up though as I came first in my age category Grin

Sorry you struggled at Doncaster pirates. I don't remember them being fast but it has been a while since I've been.

KristinaM · 31/05/2014 14:05

Congrats to all new PBs and commiserations to those having a rubbish day.

I think < fingers crossed > I have a new PB, which is a Big Deal for me as I've been chasing one for nearly two years . I am scared to count on it until the results come out in case my garmin has mysteriously lost 15 secs

I am ridiculously pleased with myself < smug> As I've been training for 5 months for the HM and was really discouraged that it wasn't improving my Parkrun time by much

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 14:22

Sorry it wasn't a better run, blatherskite. I did enjoy the Doncaster one, even though I was a tad disappointed about how I felt. But I was up until 1 am with ds1 (teen angst) so I guess tiredness played a part.

I had a look at the stats and see that 69 people at Doncaster ran in sub-30 mins this morning. I'm sure there are a lot more slow coaches at the hackney marshes one!

Blatherskite · 31/05/2014 14:43

Being up until 1am will not have helped at all.

The best thing about parkrun though as that there is always next week :)

Blatherskite · 31/05/2014 14:46

I'm going to have to come to Scunny in one of those weeks if it's a PB course thenightsky Grin

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 14:53

And congrats Kristina - what an awesome week you've had!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2014 15:45

Well done ThursdayLast and KristinaM!

I did a parkrun that was new to me this week, I enjoyed it and pushed myself but it was quite warm this morning and busier at the start than I'm used to so I was 28s off my parkrun pb. My rubbish dh took some paper with him and apparently got carried away with drawing up a new piece of gym equipment and turned up a good minute after I finish with my boys who'd been playing in the park. The first pr he's been to and didn't see me finish and can't understand why I was annoyed and didn't even say sorry Angry :(

originalpiratematerial · 31/05/2014 16:09

Grrrr, cinnamon, he deserves a bit of a fish-slap for that - very unsupportive!

Forgot to tell you all that I managed to wash my running gear whilst one pocket still contained my oystercard wallet with my oystercard and my parkrun barcode printout. D'oh!

ThursdayLast · 31/05/2014 19:00

Oh cinnamon how frustrating, what a plonker. I hope he's making it up to you suitably now.
Well done kristina did you check your time yet??
Thank you knackerelli and pirate. Blathers (haha your name comes up on my autocorrect), I am always first in my age category- there are NO OTHER SW30-34 at Lanhydrock!

karatekimmi · 31/05/2014 21:05

Its been a while since I've posted on the parkrun thread but I am still going!!

Ran the 3k to the parkrun and was hoping for a PB as I was pushchair free but my inability to leave on time meant I was about 4 minutes late to the start!! I heard the start, just nowhere near it!! Oh well, no PB for me on PB Saturday!!

KristinaM · 01/06/2014 07:39

Thursday -yes , my text came through and I've taken 15 secs off my PB. I'm still only the 19th women but I don't care, I was well chuffed.

I'm now tempted to go to nearby , much flatter, parkrun next week to see if I can improve my PB there. Especially as it's pacer Saturday and that always helps me do a better time. Our local parkrun doesn't have pacers .

Not that I'm competitive or anything.........

KristinaM · 01/06/2014 07:40

< adds another fish slap for cinnamon's DH>
