Who fancies 10km of mud and obstacles? Come and join Team Wolef

Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

Pumped/Wiley - sorry to hear you won't be able to join us.

Standingonlego · 14/08/2014 23:44

Hi geek have PMed you with t shirt info - thank you for getting us orgsnised .

wiley what a shame :( maybe ask on the runners thread....how do you change details? Is it do-able?

PumpedUpKicks · 17/08/2014 01:27

Have looked into it and a name change/swap does not look possible at this point in the proceedings. So no-one else can use my slot which is a bummer. MNWolefs are all listed as one big team though which is nice.

Standingonlego · 18/08/2014 22:35

Can someone go and just pretend to be you?

Blatherskite · 18/08/2014 22:40

I lost you all! Need to have a read and a catch up...

Blatherskite · 19/08/2014 09:47

Right, sort of caught up although I skimmed a bit so I've I've missed anything really important can someone shout at me please.

First - I haven't had a confirmation e-mail!

Second - Yes please to a t-shirt. I'll PM Geek now

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/08/2014 10:40

Blathers I have sent you the pack ID. I can see you in the pack!

Fishandjam · 19/08/2014 11:11

Hi everyone,

Some news which you may all find reassuring - one of my work colleagues did the Wolf Run a month or two back. I asked him what it was like, on a scale of 1 (gentle stroll) to 10 (Tough Mudder). He said 4, and I quote: "It’s more fun than anything especially if you stick together as a team and laugh at each other getting stuck in the mud".

Mind you, I'm currently getting knackered just doing 5k, so will have to knuckle down and get a bit more training in between now and the 7th. (I've also been a bit enthusiastic and signed up for Insane Terrain in September, and a 10k race every month between now and December Shock)

ohone, I could pick you up at the Brampton Hut services?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/08/2014 09:11

Fish that is reassuring Grin

I will check with DH whether he is still thinking of coming to laugh at support us. Are any other DHs coming?

Crockery · 21/08/2014 10:58

I don't have a DH. DD & DS will be with him & BF is driving his bruv to Lands End to start a very long cycle ride so I am a lone Wolef for the weekend Smile

Crockery · 21/08/2014 10:59

'Him' being ex-DH!

Fishandjam · 21/08/2014 11:14

My DH will be looking after the kids while I swan off to get muddy Grin

Blatherskite · 21/08/2014 13:45

H (not so D at the moment) will be home with the children. OhOne, I could pick you up on my way past if you like?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/08/2014 19:01

OK, will tell DH not to come.

Blathers that would be great.

Fishandjam · 22/08/2014 13:23

Unless anyone else is in the vicinity of Cambs and needs a lift, I'll see you all there!

I've set up a JustGiving page but in my name - not sure if that would be any good for others to donate to.

BigfootFiles · 22/08/2014 17:10

I am in the Cambs area and could offer a lift, but it's looking like I won't be able to hang around for too long afterwards before heading home.

Reassured by both the 4/10 and that Fish is getting knackered doing 5k - me too! I picked up an injury (now fine) but meant I had 3 weeks doing not very much at all, so training has gone backwards. Won't be as fit as I would like but will be fit enough to get round, I reckon (monkey bars notwithstanding).

Fishandjam · 22/08/2014 18:21

bigfoot, I wouldn't be hanging round afterwards either. Shall we carshare? If you're going A14/M6 we can meet en route?

BigfootFiles · 22/08/2014 20:50

Sounds like a plan, Fish! I'll PM you.

Zeitgei5t · 24/08/2014 07:26

Hiya also happy to carshare with anyone but only coming from coventry so I realise there's not many places en route.

GeekLove · 25/08/2014 20:09

Fishandjam - thanks for setting up Just Giving.

News on the t-shirts - They cannot do black and white line art on red, which was what I thought it would.

THe t-shirts will be white with black line art and will be £20 each if anyone is still interested. I have numbers and sizes and want to place the order ASAP

Is everybody running on the 7th? IF so I will bring them then. For details on payment please PM me.

Thanks for your patience!

Crockery · 25/08/2014 22:16

Sorry Geek, £20 too much for me

Blatherskite · 25/08/2014 22:48

White t-shirts are going to get totally ruined in the mud so £20 seems a bit much for something that's only going to get worn once. I think I'd rather stick with the dri-fit official t-shirt as it'll be more comfortable on the day. Sorry Geek.

Fishandjam · 26/08/2014 09:50

I'd still like a T-shirt - I'll wear it for bootcamp! (It is a tech fabric one isn't it, rather than just ordinary cotton?) Size 14/M.

BigfootFiles · 26/08/2014 11:39

I'll have to duck out of the t-shirts, I'm afraid. £20 is a bit steep for me, sorry.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 26/08/2014 19:07

Sorry, 20 quid is a bit steep for me too.

Blathers - I don't think we get the official one until we've finished!
