Who fancies 10km of mud and obstacles? Come and join Team Wolef

Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

Ahem! I will need numbers and sizing before the middle of August so please PM me if you want a tshirt.

Thanks in advance!

Zeitgei5t · 02/08/2014 07:41

I have (hopefully!) Just PMed you. (Let me know if you don't get it).

There doesn't really seem to be a consensus on which charity so suggest maybe we just set up our own justgiving/ charity collections individually?

GeekLove · 02/08/2014 19:03

The charity consensus is an issue - The National Autistic Society seems to have the most votes - are people happy with that if I set up a justgiving thingy for it?

Also I have 3 people for t-shirts so far - red as a base colour is the consensus so far. Plan is for people who want one to send me their requirements - I pass them on and I will receive the t-shirts for distribution on the day.

Cost for each t-shirt is £7.5 -£10 each. I will ask for money when all that want one has sent me their requirements.

EauRouge · 04/08/2014 08:25

Well it's looking increasingly unlikely that I won't be able to do this. Got another physio appointment next week but I'm still in pain most of the time. Haven't been running for nearly 4 months now, I'm so fucking sick of this.

Eau so sorry to hear you are still in pain - I was thinking I hadn't "seen" you for ages on the running thread.

Has everyone else had their instructions?

Crockery · 06/08/2014 06:32

Hello team wolef, lego's friend here, finally joined the thread. I'm 5'4" but I'm not short sighted, hope that doesn't disqualify me...
Ok at running but rubbish upper body strength, nonexistent core-balance and scared of heights.
Had great fun reading the thread, can't wait to meet you all Smile

Crockery · 06/08/2014 08:40

National Autistic Society great charity. Very happy to howl for that

GeekLove · 06/08/2014 09:07

Hello Crockery! Look forward to meeting you!

I am taking the consensus that the National Autistic Society will be our Charity!

Also do you want an exclusive Team Wolef T-shirt?

Crockery · 06/08/2014 11:32

Is everyone having a team wolef shirt too run in on the day? (They look fab by the way) if yes, I'll have one too.

BigfootFiles · 06/08/2014 19:18

Just popping by to see if everyone else had got the start time and instructions email, glad to see others have too. This thread keeps dropping off "threads I'm on" for some reason.

Sorry to hear you won't make it EauRouge. :( Hope your physio appointment helps, ongoing constant pain is just draining. Much sympathy to you.

I'd like a t-shirt too please, will PM now. Are we doing wolf ears or are they going to be too impractial to wear whilst crawling under nets/leaping into water/flailing from monkey bars/whatever?

standingonlego · 06/08/2014 21:05

Hi folks, got my confirmation email too - not long. Great to see you found us crockery Grin

Yes to both t shirt (red is great) plus national autistic society

Poor eau can we get you entry fee back for you or a substitute ?

Need to do lots of strength work now....

Jellified · 07/08/2014 06:16

Hi Wolefs just got my confirmation tooGrin

Jellified · 07/08/2014 06:20

Hi GeekLove. , am I still in te for a T shirt? Size 12 or thereabouts. TIA Jelly.

Crockery · 07/08/2014 08:04

Hi Geeklove, def want a t-shirt. Size 8 please Grin

Fishandjam · 07/08/2014 10:25

Hello all! Sorry for the long silence. I've been a bit poorly (turns out to be premature menopause, what a pile of poo!) I'm still up for the Wolf Run but I'm probably not going to be as fit as I thought I would be, as I'm only just getting back into exercising after a month or two of feeling like death. So I won't mind if I really am the Wolef left behind Grin

I've got my start time confirmation - 12.40, yes?

Can I also have a T-shirt please? Size M/14.

My vote goes to the NAS too (slight self-interest as DS has mild Aspergers).

Finally, does anyone want to car share - I'll be driving from Huntingdon in Cambs and am happy to do a minor detour to pick someone up.

GeekLove · 09/08/2014 09:29

So far we have 4 t-shirts - Anybody else - the more the better as the unit cost comes down. The consensus is red with the Team Wolef artwork and the option of having your name on back.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 09/08/2014 23:05

Hello Crockery, looking forward to meeting you next month Smile

Sorry to hear you have been poorly Fish. What a pile of poo indeed. On car sharing, I will be coming from Bedford, so could pick you up on the A1 if you like (unless you want to drive, in which case I could drive up to Huntingdon and leave my car there for the way back).

Geek size M/14 for me too please - I will PM you my name for the back Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 09/08/2014 23:08

Just a thought - are we all on FB, and if so do we want to set up a FB group for pre- and post-Wolef chat?

Crockery · 11/08/2014 13:56

FB group good for me Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 11/08/2014 17:55

I have made a group and Blathers and I are its only members so far. (I can only add people who are already my FB friends). Rather than advertise the name on here, if you drop me a PM with your RL name I will send the group name in return and hopefully we will be able to find each other Smile

Fishandjam · 12/08/2014 12:45

I don't yet do the Facebook thing - maybe I should?!

EauRouge · 12/08/2014 13:14

Yes, you should absolutely sign up to Facebook. It's the best place to find out about supermarkets giving out £500 vouchers, immigrants flooding into the country to sponge off the hardworking tax payer, and 5 Foods You Should Never Eat- you don't know what you're missing Grin

OP posts:
OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 12/08/2014 15:13
Grin

And you can be in a group with your fellow Wolefs Grin What better reason could there be.

I wasn't very clear before - you don't have to be my FB friend to join the group (Blathers and I just happen to be FB friends already). But I could only invite my friends to join it when I set it up - anyone else can join by finding it and asking to join (I think - I am in some other FB groups linked to a course I am doing and one of my hobbies, but this is the first one I've set up Grin)

GeekLove · 12/08/2014 18:53

OK this is the last week! I need all interested parties to PM me about T-shirts by the end of the week. I have 6 people so far!
If you haven't messaged me by Friday then I assume you don't want one!

PS my time is 12.40 on the 7th!

PumpedUpKicks · 14/08/2014 00:10

Hi guys, Wileycoyote here as was. Really sorry but I will need to pull out. Does someone want my place (all paid for). Want to donate though. My son has Autism so am really sad I can't afford the trip over to run with you for such a great cause. Am in Jersey and have a few cash problems at the moment due to major (expensive) child care problems over the summer :-(
