Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

Completed my first , and probably last , HM today in 2hours 8mins. Not bad Wink I'm ridiculously pleased with myself. Bit disappointed that the official times haven't been posted yet though.
Now to start practicing for Wolf run.

EauRouge · 04/05/2014 19:20

~That's a fantastic time, well done! Why will it be your last?

Well done Jellified, that's a fabulous time.

I need to pay someone but I'm not sure who! Please let me know as I'm very willing and have the money.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/05/2014 21:25

Jelly what a brilliant time! Well done!

feetheart I think you need to pay standingonlego (you don't need to pay me Grin)

Jellified · 05/05/2014 07:59

That's my post race mantra Eau Rouge. I said it after my 1st 10k too.
With the HM I was questioning my sanity from about 10 miles in. Feel fine this morning though so I'm sure I'll be signing up for another one too longGrin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/05/2014 18:08

I spotted some WOLF shirts at my HM today Grin

All worn by tall fit men, instead of short, visually challenged women, some of whom might be over 40 Grin

WE WILL ROCK!

Standingonlego · 05/05/2014 22:32

Someone say tall fit men....this race is starting to sound better :)

feetheart yes, you need to pay me but i need to PM everyone my bank and paypal details which are downstairs. I will do it in the morning!

I finally made it out for a run today, only a cheeky 30 minutes but i lived to tell the tale. How many days now until 7th September

thenightsky · 05/05/2014 22:37

You half M lot are gonna be streets ahead come the Wolef run.

Standingonlego · 07/05/2014 22:00

I am an idiot moment - great workout at gym this morning, coming out down the gym steps got my foot tangled in long handle of my gym bag (was carrying in hand with grab handles). Did not fall down steps but have hurt my ankle a bit - so cross with myself :(

Jellified · 08/05/2014 17:09

O dear Lego are you ok nowSmile

Standingonlego · 08/05/2014 20:00

sill a bit twingy but small scale after some of the injuries going on over on the runnig thread Shock

I am having more trouble from the "great workout"which has now translated into my arms and back muscels are so tired i cannot turn my steering wheel which made for some particularly poor parking today Blush

Fishandjam · 12/05/2014 10:41

I realise I haven't done anything about this! And I can't remember whose team I was supposed to be on Confused Should I just sign up by myself? Which date are we doing?

Standingonlego · 12/05/2014 22:46

Hi Fishandjam welcome back :)

It is not too late, there is a mop up plan.

We are running on the Sunday 7th September - you will now have to register in your own right BUT use our special secret code which will link you into the MN Wolefs team so we all start together. I will PM it to you :)

Delighted if you are able to come and join - we are going to need more people for the human pyramid!!!

GeekLove · 13/05/2014 22:57

Here is my initial designs:

First one has two generic Wolefs:

Second one has text that's yet to be translated to line art:

I am also planning on a third piece of line art with WOLEF made up of everyone's mn usernames.

Please feed back!

GeekLove · 17/05/2014 21:15

Here is a sneak peek of the first block of text. I still have another Wolef to draw out and a calligraphy Wolef text which I intend to make with all the Wolef usernames if people are happy with that.
Then I will do an experimental layout to see how this will work on a tshirt.

GeekLove · 17/05/2014 21:18

I would like to know about peoples thoughts about colour as then I should colour the Wolefs too.

thenightsky · 17/05/2014 21:32

Loving the idea that t-shirt and its colour are way ahead in priority over physical training Grin

GeekLove · 17/05/2014 21:39

Ahem! I have been doing more than 12km a week AND Chin ups! I can finally do a 10 spot of pull ups and ONE good form off the floor chin up now when 3 months ago I could do neither so THRRRRPP!!!

Anyhow I am glad I have some feedback now and will proceed. I will need to look up people who do t-shirts so I have some idea of costs.

Also if people pm me their usernames I can start doing the calligraphy.

BellsaRinging · 18/05/2014 08:08

Design looks fab Geek. I'm afraid I have been sadly neglectful of my training due to illness but am back in full effect now and building distance up again. also going on a sporty holiday in june so using that as a basis for further fitness.
on a fit men note ben cohen was at the run in september last year...

wileycoyote · 18/05/2014 23:30

Hi everyone. I have entered for the 7th using the code that standings legs provided. Worked fine. Am I just running as an individual then, not in a team?

wileycoyote · 18/05/2014 23:31

Sorry - blasted iPad autocomplete - I meant standingonlego of course!!

feetheart · 18/05/2014 23:46

Nope Wiley as far as I understand it if you used the code you are in the team :o

Love the designs Geeklove though don't the generic wolefs need to be shorter (apart from the two of us that are 5'10"), more myopic and older (though the latter might just be me :))

I need to start doing something about my lack of upper body strength and stop fretting about how my glasses are going to survive the mud Hmm

wileycoyote · 19/05/2014 00:12

Uh-oh!! I'm more scared of the t-shirt than of the actual run :-D Grin
Only joking Geeklove!! Grin

I've just noticed the Bike emoticon. We need a running one!!

Fishandjam · 19/05/2014 14:27

I'm in!! MN Wolefs confirmed.

geeklove, I love the designs - you talented bunny you!

I have not been training nearly as much though. The shin splints are really getting in the way of anything reasonable. I think just running the 10k will be an achievement for me - hope I don't hold you all up too much Sad Now that I'm actually booked and have spend hard-earned wonga on it, though, I will be properly incentivised to go and do my office bootcamp twice a week unless it's hailing.

Standingonlego · 19/05/2014 14:41

Hooowwwwllll.....GeekLove chin ups, respect Grin...My training has been more like "gin's up" recently Blush

Taking my grumpy ankle to physio later this week so hoping to get back into the swing of things shortly!
