Who fancies 10km of mud and obstacles? Come and join Team Wolef

Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

30 second plank and 5 push ups. That was about as much as I could manage so will be interesting to see what I can do in 30 days!

You lot are just showing off :)
I managed 20sec plank (though know I can do 60sec as had to beat DH a few weeks ago :)) but push ups are a different matter. I sort of managed 3 but needed to do them from kneeling. Must look at the young man link and get a few ideas.

Standingonlego · 17/03/2014 22:24

Back from skiing - body tired but plank and push ups done :)

Now just got to work off a week of massive overindulgence of food and booze Blush

Mitchy1nge · 18/03/2014 20:22

oi where are you all?

it's 4 push ups but only 20 seconds plank today

Fishandjam · 18/03/2014 22:21

All done - 30s plank, 4 proper push ups, 10 knees push ups. Really feeling the non-running now though (sicknoted out due to shin splints), my crappy lower back is stiffening up like a bastard. Can't even do bootcamp due to all the sprinting involved. Maybe next week!

Can our challenge be V sits next? My record is 2 mins 45 seconds Grin It's about the only fitness-related thing I'm good at!

Standingonlego · 18/03/2014 23:21

Hi MitchyInge - just jumped off the sofa and done mine!

Fishandjam · 19/03/2014 21:34

What was today's challenge? Confused I did 10 "proper" press ups and a 30 second plank, in case. Can't go all the way to the floor on the press ups though.

Mitchy1nge · 20/03/2014 07:12

wow 10!

I think it was 5 with a 30 second plank. There isn't anything today :(

Fishandjam · 20/03/2014 10:54

Just as well, I'm visiting the physio again this afternoon re my shin splints and I expect he'll pummel me into a sniveling heap like he did last week Blush

Mitchy1nge · 20/03/2014 11:01

I cried at physio on Tuesday and she wasn't even touching me. In fact I'd only just started unlacing one shoe. I don't cope well with some things Blush hope you find the treatment helpful

Mitchy1nge · 21/03/2014 18:30

oi

5 push ups and 40 second plank

or whatever more heroic variants you fancy Grin

Fishandjam · 21/03/2014 20:01

Oi yourself

All done !

Mitchy1nge · 21/03/2014 20:14

Grin well done, how was physio? and where's everyone else?

Fishandjam · 21/03/2014 20:40

Physio was excruciating. In the normal course of things a leg massage from a well built young man would be a high point in my calendar. But I got on the table very reluctantly yesterday. Still, things are improving and I may even be back running in a couple of weeks. How are your various areas of crockedness?

Mitchy1nge · 21/03/2014 21:07

everything is suddenly feeling so much better thanks, I should have stopped completely when the calf strain was first diagnosed and rested it properly but I was too focused on a particular event

shin splints sound nasty, the very name makes me wince, like splinters of bone Shock

Fishandjam · 21/03/2014 22:39

Great that you're on the mend mitchy. I feel a right fraud, seeing a sports physio when I'm not even that sporty and good at running. But I guess if it enables me to keep running then it's the right thing to do. YY to the name shin splints. I know that it's called medial tibial stress syndrome these days, but that's nothing like as descriptive Grin I didn't realise that if you try to run through the pain of shin splints you can get stress fractures.

OneHandFlapping · 22/03/2014 09:25

20 pushups and 40s plank.

I started the full pushup challenge, because I could already do 15, but I'm struggling. I could only do 18 +2 yesterday. I imagine I'm setting myself up for failure this week.

Tiredemma · 22/03/2014 19:31

Bad news im afraid.

I cant do the WOLEF- sorry for being a let down. The event now clashes with 60th wedding anniversary plans that DP's grandparents have just arranged.

really sorry- Sad

i have let my 'group' leader know so hopefully someone can take my place in the wolef group with ohone

next year hopefully?.....

Mitchy1nge · 22/03/2014 19:54

but why don't they want to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary watching us lot Be Amazing? what is wrong with people? :(

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/03/2014 22:28

Sad emma that we are losing you, although 60 years of marriage deserves a celebration Smile

Tiredemma · 23/03/2014 07:45

Im quite disappointed actually that they dont want to spend this special weekend watching myself and a bunch of other women getting muddy.

Where is their sense of fun?

Mitchy1nge · 23/03/2014 13:12

old people can be so selfish Angry

feetheart · 25/03/2014 21:53

Anyone in Herts, Beds and Bucks might be interested in this. Have heard lots of good things about them but never been stupid brave enough to have a go but £5 for 5 sessions can't be bad, even if I keel over after the first one :)

EauRouge · 29/03/2014 20:42

Oh no, sorry you won't be able to make it Tiredemma. Can't your in-laws rearrange their 60th wedding anniversary? Grin

I've been lagging a bit this week, combination of lurgy and DH being away (what good timing that was...). Just managed a 40s plank and 10 press-ups.

Mitchy1nge · 29/03/2014 20:49

I've kept up with the push ups and plank challenge, I think it was meant to be a 90 second plank but at 85 my lower back muscles caught fire Blush
