Who fancies 10km of mud and obstacles? Come and join Team Wolef

Quite a few of us are interested in doing the Wolf Run this September so we were thinking of getting a team together.

It's for all abilities, it should be really good fun. It's not timed and it'll be too wet to wear your Garmin, so don't worry if you're not a fast runner. We'll be a team and no Wolef will be left behind.

It's on the 6th & 7th of September just south of Coventry, so fairly central. If we get a team together we get a slightly discounted entry.

If you're interested, post on here and we'll start making a list.

We also need to pick a charity so if everyone wants to suggest their favourite one and then we can argue about it for ages with no firm decision being made.

So, I'm in and my favourite charity is the Birth Trauma Association.

great, the one area where you don't want to measure xxxs!

Mitchy1nge · 03/02/2014 19:33

Oh they have normal sizes on the next page Blush

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/02/2014 21:24

Blathers not sure I have your DoB?

GeekLove · 03/02/2014 22:14

Have send pm with email address Standingonlego.

This shits got real!

Blatherskite · 04/02/2014 10:25

I've messaged you so that you have it all in one place OhOne :)

Session with my friend went well yesterday although all he seems to have done so far is get the discomfort to move around a little so that it's my knee that aches now instead of my calf. He thinks the issues stem from my hips which would make sense as I sprained my SI joint about 9 years ago and it took ages to become "right" again but it is entirely likely that I've just found a way to compensate for the damaged joint. Further sessions are not free so I'm going to have to decide whether it's worth the money...

Tiredemma · 04/02/2014 10:34

Do you need a message from me ohone?

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2014 12:39

how do I get into an actual TEAM then

?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/02/2014 19:19

Mitchy - we are all one big Team Wolef. Noone will get left behind!

If we register in batches of 5, it's cheaper. So if you want the discount you and 4 other Wolefs need to gang up together and register as a pack Smile

Emma - yes please (just the info you haven't already given me)

jellybrain · 06/02/2014 22:39

Thanks for the link to the t shirt chart Eau Rouge.
Size stays the same OhOneSmile

FlockOfTwats · 07/02/2014 00:02

I'd love to if anyone from up north is heading down and fancies going halves on petrol? (I dont drive and OH taking me would mean dragging two or three kids).

Also how much is entry?

thenightsky · 07/02/2014 19:50

Flock, I'm hoping to go as a supporter of Team Wolef. I'm in North Lincolnshire... any good for you?

wileycoyote · 07/02/2014 21:39

Lego Have pm'ed you (several times Blush ) with my details..

Standingonlego · 07/02/2014 22:16

Thank you wiley for all three PMs Grin

So far i have all the details i need from

  • wileycoyote
  • geek love
  • Eau Rouge
  • Bigfootfiles

Sure I am missing one i expected, but got another instead so team lego is now complete.

So we need someone to lead team 3 ....MitchyInge needs company...who else is upthread that has not made the big jump yet?

Standingonlego · 07/02/2014 22:20

Worked it out now...

still out there...MitchyInge, fishandjam, Onehandflapping (what happened to you?), starsandunicorns, beckyboo232, rollermum and beautiful soup. feetheart still waiting on GNR I guess and new entrant (need to toggle thread, the lady who needs a lift from up north).

There should be 5 definites in there!!! Some of you have gone a bit quiet!

Fishandjam · 07/02/2014 22:56

Arghhh.... mitchy, shall we gang up?

I am still a bit cold footed about this as I've never run 10k, never mind with obstacles. But faint heart never fucked a pig, as an ex-boss used to say.

Fishandjam · 07/02/2014 22:59

And I am going to reveal my MN ignorance here (despite having been around a while - cube of poo, yoni massage, Fruit Shoots etc) but....

...what is the wolef thing about?

FlockOfTwats · 08/02/2014 00:20

I'm in merseyside nightsky i think thats a while away isn't it?

I'll come back to this when i've spoken to my Dad. He lives in sutton in ashfield which is closer than i do so he might be able to sort something :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 08/02/2014 11:23

Fishandjam - I have asked a wolef to come and explain the history Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 08/02/2014 16:51

For Fishandjam

The wolef quiche started when someone spotted a lady wearing a wolf fleece, and pointed it out as something of a style faux pas. In that thread, or a related one, another poster misspelled wolf as wolef, and it was seized upon with glad cries by MNers who like such things, and thus was the wolef quiche born.

I think it has largely died out on MN now, though.

...until Team Wolef came along Grin

Tiredemma · 08/02/2014 17:00

and we are wearing 'wolef' jackets are we not?

GeekLove · 08/02/2014 22:33

I thought it was because so many wolfs on t-shirts and fleeces were so badly drawn they deserved a badly spelt name - hence 'wolef'.
