Hi everyone. I thought we could do with a new shiny thread.

All runners are welcome here :)

A massive well done to all runners this week. I managed to get out today and did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It made me feel slightly less guilty about missing parkrun on Saturday (although it is the first since August so not too bad).

It's here

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2013 21:58

Oooh, it's a different one!

I'm not too far from there...

Shall we?

Blatherskite · 21/12/2013 22:01

I'm considering asking my Mum if she can babysit so that I can run the half too! I did the 10k last year and really wanted to do the half this year so I was really upset when DH entered!

It's 9th March. There's a discount voucher code knocking about if you wanted to enter OhOne :)

The 20 mile run is the 23rd March. The half I'm entered into is the 18th April.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:01

I almost did it now but you have to state whether you're getting bus back, a lift or running through the city so I should probably ask dh if he thinks he'll be able to give me a lift back. He works in Cambridge and on Sundays so that would be handy :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2013 22:12

Aaargh I'm torn! Both look fun Grin.

cinammon what a handy DH you have!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:13

You could manage 2 halfs in 2 weeks Wink

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2013 22:15

Hahahahahahaha.

I probably could (and did, when marathon training). But might not be able to manage DH Grin

Blatherskite · 21/12/2013 22:17

Just buy him a really good christmas present and then break it to him :)

I've been trying to enter Janathon all night but can't think of a good blog title so can't fill the form in! I'm going to sleep on it and try again tomorrow. Any suggestions?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2013 22:40

He doesn't have a problem with 2 March, so I have booked Grin

He will have forgotten about it by the time I consult him about 9 March Grin

Can you send me the discount code Blathers?

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:42

Yay! Dh said he will be there on 2nd too so off to book it and I have paypal balance so it's like being free Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:49

I'm in!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/12/2013 00:09

3 females entered on 21/12 for the half :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/12/2013 09:11

Oooh, who is the other one I wonder?

Blatherskite · 22/12/2013 10:12

Not me :)

The code is on a sign outside of Sweatshop. It must be somewhere else - I'll have a look - or ring Sweatshop and ask Xmas Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 24/12/2013 07:53

Anyone park running tomorrow? I'm not but I'm thinking about doing a New Year's Day one about 15 miles away. By 10am I'll have done 18 miles in 4 days so feeling I'll deserve my Christmas treats Xmas Smile. We had Santa at our park run Saturday! I was First Lady in my email but knew I wasn't and when I checked results the lady who was first was actually registered as Santa Claus, thought that was a lovely touch! Presents for all juniors too Xmas Grin

How's your blog title coming along Blatherskite?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2013 11:53

Morning! No parkrun tomorrow, but I have been out today for a quick leg stretch - only about three miles, but the first time I have been out during the week since early November Shock. Must pull myself together in the New Year.

Your parkrun sounds fun cinnamon Grin

MelanieCheeks · 24/12/2013 12:04

We have a New Years Day one planned.

Newrowsees · 24/12/2013 16:44

Hi all, I think I'm ready to join you again - had to take a break from running because of knee problems, but think I'm ok to race again. Is anyone planning on running on Christmas Day? I'm thinking a quick jog before the onslaught of around 7,000 calories might make me feel more wholesome Smile

thenightsky · 24/12/2013 20:19

Wondering if we could have some kind of Mumsnet 10k at some point over the summer. Where is central for UK? Do I need to google?

anyone up for this idea?

thenightsky · 24/12/2013 20:21

OK... it appears to be Haltwhistle in Northumberland.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2013 20:25

I think that is a marvellous idea nightsky!

I did the BUPA London 10K in May as part of the Woolly Hugs Team.

I am central-ish (for England) - north of London, pretty close to the M1 and A1.

thenightsky · 24/12/2013 23:10

I'm Lincolnshire.

Should we start a thread for this outside of parkrun stuff?

Newrowsees · 25/12/2013 11:51

Yay, managed a quick 5k this morning before the boys woke up, then promptly stuffed my face with a vat load of chocolate from their stockings. Better than nothing, I reckon Smile Hope you all have fun filled Christmas days!

Standingonlego · 25/12/2013 22:13

What a lovely day for a run :) I did not manage to get to our Christmas Parkrun, but looked fab. Looking forward to my run tomorrow morning to retrieve the car from the in-laws house.

2014 - definately up for a mumsnet summer 10k. I am right on the m1, jxn 15/15a/16 and happy to travel in any direction as pretty central :)

Standingonlego · 25/12/2013 22:21

Well....i did it. Here is a shiny new thread for us to use and not completely hijack this one :) So who is up for this then??
