Hi everyone. I thought we could do with a new shiny thread.

All runners are welcome here :)

A massive well done to all runners this week. I managed to get out today and did 3.5 miles in 32 minutes. It made me feel slightly less guilty about missing parkrun on Saturday (although it is the first since August so not too bad).

I don't think the kids would ever forgive me if I ran on Christmas day!

New Years however, I might try to fit 2 in as some start at 9 and others at 10 :)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 02/12/2013 22:24

We're not around for Christmas, but a New Years Day run sounds like a great start to 2014! I'll have to see what the plans are at my local Parkrun.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/12/2013 22:35

Mine would love it Blatherskite, they'd open their pressies before I went and get to play with them in their jarmies while I was out! Just like a normal Saturday really, none of them dressed all vegging out when I get home!

Blatherskite · 02/12/2013 22:53

I fear admitting this just in case I get lynched but so far (kids are 6 and almost 4) don't tend to get up early on Christmas morning so our days usually starts around 7.30/8 Blush

As DH and I both have large families who give lots of gifts, there is no way we would be finished for me to go out for 9.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/12/2013 07:33

I wake mine up, much to dh's disgust! I'm always te first awake on Christmas morning Grin

MelanieCheeks · 03/12/2013 22:46

We've discussed a New Year's Day one. Will there be points. I want to know?

OhFourFiftyNineThirtyFive · 03/12/2013 23:17

Sorry to hear that DS has come out in spots now Blathers.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/12/2013 19:53

Don't know about points, we're not doing one but I may go to another local one New Year's Day :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/12/2013 23:04

Doesn't look as though we are doing either Christmas or New Year.

Not sure if I will be running this weekend. I had my bag snatched last night, adrenaline kicked in and I chased the guy and had a little tussle with him (yippee for speed training and a houseful of rugby players meaning I knew how to tackle someone bigger than me) but I now have some badly grazed/bruised knees and a sore back to show for it.

karatekimmi · 05/12/2013 05:54

ohone oh no, that's awful, I hope your okay! I bet (s)he got a but of a shock, did you get your bag back? Did the police get the person? Wine and Cake for youxx

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/12/2013 18:24

Thanks kimmi-no sign of any of my stuff. Police have taken a statement but didn't raise my expectations about getting any of it back. Sad Angry

Knackerelli · 05/12/2013 20:01

Oh my gosh ohone, that's awful Sad bet you gave them a shock though! Some people just make you sick. Hope you're feeling okay.

IsThatTrue · 05/12/2013 20:15

Sorry to hear that ohone and sorry your DS has the pox blathers

Well ds2 is slightly better now, but between him and the house I haven't run for a week :( not a happy bunny!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/12/2013 21:14

Oh how awful OhOneOhTwoOhThree, sorry to hear you've hurt yourself and hope you manage to carry on as normal. Good luck with your stuff too, you never know!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/12/2013 21:30

Thanks girls - btw I've gone back to OhOne because I had MN on my phone and was logged in as OhFour - I was advised to change all my passwords etc in case the little gits hacked my accounts.

All being well I will be doing some parkrun tourism on Saturday - although elderly relative I'm staying with has left a message to say the weather is terrible and I should not go. I will decide in the morning. If not I will look forward to seeing Blathers at my usual run Smile.

Blatherskite · 05/12/2013 21:50

And there was Blathers remembering that it is - of all things - the running club night out on Friday which isn't planned to finish until 2am and that driving to my parkrun might be beyond me never mind heading over to you!

Friend is on nightshift and is planning on running before she goes to bed though so I might just have to toughen up a little

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/12/2013 22:25

Grin Grin Grin

Blatherskite · 05/12/2013 22:34

Sorry, should have said that it's the Christmas do not just a general night out.

Not feeling very much like a runner this week though. I've been letting my calf rest since battering it at that trail run and am feeling rather fat and sedentary this week Sad

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/12/2013 23:25

You mean you don't do that every week? So who is driving, sleep deprived friend or still-squiffy Blathers?

I have run even less than you - 3 x parkruns (one tailrunner) and a couple of five milers in the last month - quite a come down from my marathon training Grin. Have done a bit of biking here and there but nothing like the training I should have done for Sunday's half. Oh well, someone has to be last...

MelanieCheeks · 06/12/2013 07:29

My goodness ohone you're brave!

Our PR will be a santa dash this week. I dont expect a PB in the suit and beard, wonder if I can attach a pair of antlers to my doggie......

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 06/12/2013 08:59

Melanie - you must post a picture of your doggie if you manage to get antlers on him Grin

Blatherskite · 06/12/2013 12:24

It's DD's birthday party on Sunday otherwise I'd come and drag you round OhOne :)

Sleep deprived friend works near you so she is least likely to get lost but I've been so distracted by the Wooly Hugs sale this morning, I might end up here trying to ice DD's cake while still squiffy anyway!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 06/12/2013 23:11

Speaking of Woolly Hugs, I was wondering how people might feel about dedicating one of our parkruns to fundraising for WCC as a way of finishing off the Woolly Running year. As well as asking friends and family to donate we could ask mumsnetters who haven't sponsored other woolly runners to consider donating.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 06/12/2013 23:14

And I went to Norfolk and will be doing Blickling Park if there are any lurkers who want to say hello tomorrow Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 07/12/2013 00:17

I'm volunteering at mine and then straight off to do our club 10k after or I may have considered a travel OhOneOhTwoOhThree. How you feeling now?
