Evening all Smile

monster yup I often go backwards Grin I can have days when I'm all 'yes! Go me! All strong and shit' and the next session I'm flat out on the floor unable to barely lift my face!

Quiet on here tonight, hopefully that's because everyone is off SHREDDING

Evening shredders Grin L1D5 just completed in my hotel room. Away for work this week so trying to eat relatively healthily (not easy when you are out every day of the week) and shredding using YouTube on my phone. Resorted to using wine bottles from the mini bar as weights (oh the irony!)...good knows what my neighbours think what with all the jumping around and grunting and huffing Grin

Don't worry about going backwards a bit monster, it'll be down to tiredness/diet/hormones on a particular day. As long as you are powering through and generally on the up I wouldn't worry at all

SheepAreSuper · 05/08/2013 22:43

L1D8 done followed by an impromptu meal out rather than going for a run Blush

Not looking forward to L2 as I know what's to come! Ah well.

I feel like I'm going backwards some days. Particularly with the press ups.

lifesgreatquestions · 05/08/2013 23:01

Aha, sheep you are 3 days my senior, I shall be watching your progress to the next level like a kid watching her older sister startat big school!

My shred was ok, left me feeling better, and I'm getting better at push ups, although what I'm calling better would not be an achievement worth shouting about! How your bloating eases soon iwill, will you continue shredding or take a break now?

Standingonlego · 05/08/2013 23:46

Late night shredder...L1D2 done, just in time for it to count as today!

Rugbylovingmum · 06/08/2013 09:35

Hi all,

Ripping and Lego kindly posted on my thread (asking for advice on exercise) and suggested I come and join you so here I am. I have the Shred dvd and I'm going to give L1D1 a go this evening. Wish me luck! I'll let you all know how I get on.

RippingYarns · 06/08/2013 11:24

RippingYarns · 06/08/2013 11:24

NoelHeadbands · 06/08/2013 11:39

Hello everyone, and welcome Ruby

Very impressed with Standings late night Shredding!

I know what you mean about toning up Ripping, I've started to kiss my 'guns' purely to wind up the kids

I'm posting this so it will make me do it! L1d5 I really don't feel like it today, came on period yesterday and then was up in night with awful stomach ache and the runs! Tummy still not right but I'm gonna try to give it a go!!!!
Oh and I am awful at the bicycle crunches I look like a dying fly on its back! And they kill my back I think my stomach is just not strong enough yet!

neverlookback · 06/08/2013 13:32

Done it Smile

iWillDoItInAMinute · 06/08/2013 15:31

L1D1 round 2 - done

Oh it's a horrible workout, I forgot that!
Will be interesting to see if it hurts tomorrow

Well done to everyone, persevering through periods and illness, much respect to hotel Shredders!

Where's Grimma? She on hols?

lifesgreatquestions · 06/08/2013 17:28

Listening to how hard some of you have found shredding while on your periods I just looked, I will get to day 20 to 22 before starting. I presume this means I will be doing the hardest part at the most difficult time?

I did my day 6 this morning. I have to do it first thing or I won't, too tired in the evenings. Sure is hard to do first thing though, that initial jumping jack is a real shock to the senses! The sit ups are getting easier and my stomach muscles no longer ache so that's a good sign. I was also able to add a small (1 mile) walk so I feel pleased.

bumbumbee · 06/08/2013 20:54

Me too lifes I'll be on day 4 or 5 of level 2 and as far as I can tell level 2 will be hell, I've read a fair bit about shredding and a lot of people say level 2 is worse than level 3, I'm dreading it, I did day 4 this morning and was still shattered after but not so achy today Smile happy shredding everyone!

NoelHeadbands · 06/08/2013 20:58

I had read so many times that Level 2 was the killer. When I actually did it for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised as I'd expected it to be much much worse!

The second time I did it, it was a killer Grin

7.5k run followed immediately by shred (L1D6)...oh.my.god....Angry I am tomato. And Noel, you are NOT making me feel better! Dreading L2 now! Grin

Rugbylovingmum · 06/08/2013 21:19

Well that's L1D1 done and after all that worrying about collapsing in a heap 2 minutes in I managed most of it. It was very very hard work - I could only do girly push ups and I don't want to know what the bicycle sit up things looked like (after 2 c-sections and years of not exercising my abs are shockingly crap) but I surprised myself. The hardest part was the boxing/punching bit - my poor legs were feeling the 150 or so squats we did in body pump yesterday and I REALLY wanted to stand up. Just hoping I can walk tomorrow never mind do L1D2 Grin.

What weights are most of you using? I found a set of 1.5kg weights hanging about in a cupboard and used those - they are a bit lighter than I use at body pump but felt about right for the day after. Will they be okay?

lifesgreatquestions · 06/08/2013 21:56

Bum, I felt better by day four too, I worry that the aching will start all over again when we go up a level!

Things, you are tomato? even if you are a weird fruit I'm still in admiration and slightly jealous of you and ruby for the extra exercise you're able to get in! Ruby I don't have weights yet, didn't want to purchase a dust collector. I'm using tins, but I now hope to get some weights at the weekend.

ThingsThatGoHumpInTheNight · 06/08/2013 22:01

I don't have weights either, having always just run before. I have been using whatever is at hand really -1kg bottles of squash, tin cans amid at the moment, wine bottles as I am away for work and that's what I could find in the hotel room Grin

lookout · 06/08/2013 22:17

Bookmarking my place to have a ponder about this. May start in September if there is a new thread starting (I presume there will be?) Have been doing an online program since April and have sort of plateau'd and would very much like to see results quicker. Bit afraid of Jillian though Grin

Standingonlego · 06/08/2013 23:11

Brilliant to see you rugby Smile. Sounds like you were ace!

I have just had a curry...and started my period so giving it a miss tonight Blush....looks to find Wine but i did a decent run at the gym so guess that counts as todays exercise! L1D3 tomorrow then....

Rugbylovingmum · 07/08/2013 07:54

Ow, ow, ow, ow!

bumbumbee · 07/08/2013 11:09

things I could never do a 7.5k run never mind following it up with shred! We were thinking of getting a dog after Xmas might use that as an incentive to start pounding the pavements, It will be nice to leave dh with dc and have some time to myself Smile one more day down, well done everyone!

Rugbylovingmum · 07/08/2013 13:29

Managed to sneak L1D2 in while DD2 napping. The lunges really really hurt today and I wimped out half way through the bicycle crunches when my back started aching and did normal crunches instead. I have to walk the 40min to DD1's nursery later and push both DDs back in the double buggy - think I'd better leave myself plenty of time to crawl there! DD2 won't be happy, she hates being stuck in the buggy for the long nursery run.

lifesgreatquestions · 07/08/2013 17:34

Day 7 here, definitely getting easier at Natalie's level. I don't struggle with any of the abs or squats, hatehatehate the jump rope and ass kick thingamajig but getting better at it and I manage to keep some sort of movement going, and I'm ok for the first set of push ups now but can't do many after that. It is amazing that I can get that kind of improvement after only 7 days and hope it continues, I feel really proud of myself and am feeling better about my body which, after the two miscarriages I had come to see as being useless to me - I guess that's why I let the weight pile on. I think I'm too flabby to notice an improvement visually but I will take my measurements in 3 days anyway.

Standing, totally get you wanting a curry night with your period, I'm dreading that time! Hope you have a restful evening.

Rugby, Grin!

Things, so a lot of us are using ingestibles as weights, this makes me laugh, I can't see guys doing this!
