Reastie with my dd who is 2 1/2 I let her watch her programmes on the tv & I do my workout using our portable DVD player. My son gets to play on the I pad so he's v happy! I then usually get to work up a sweat without being interrupted by requests for drinks, snacks etc. Could u not play the DVD on your laptop?
On the other hand it is lovely that u had a fun game running around with her. Since starting insanity I have more energy all day which means I can do more activities with my kids :)

Reastie · 10/07/2013 21:07

yztj you'd think she'd sit quietly watching a DVD, but no, if I'm doing exercises she has to be right next to me getting in my way and getting bored after 5 minutes and insisting I play with her (or tries jumping/hugging me when I'm in awkward stretches). She's lovely and I appreciate her enthusiasm to join in but I just need 40 minutes to myself!

mitchy just do what you can and don't push yourself too much.

stow I know, I don't know how I'll cope with month 2 either!

Hoping for the power workout tomorrow

yztj · 10/07/2013 21:12

Going on holiday in 2 wks so won't be d

yztj · 10/07/2013 21:39

Going on holiday in 2 wks so won't be doing mth 2 for quite a while. Reastie I will be v interested to hear how u get on & stow too :) & how many inches u lose too!!!

Reastie · 11/07/2013 07:26

I'm going on hol on sat but taking insanity with me - hoping there will be no excuses not to do it every day as DH will be able to look after DD Wink . Loads of organising and packing to do today - our house is in a state of chaos as building work being done and no kitchen at the minute so everything takes ages.

stowsettler · 11/07/2013 11:06

Hah, Reastie, me too! Just 3 days away but I'm packing those DVDs. Good luck with the packing.

stowsettler · 12/07/2013 09:31

Yay, got up and did Cardio Power & Resistance at 6am. I'm in work all day today so very relieved to have already done it - I had an impromptu day off yesterday because it was so hot when I got home! Feeling bloody good at the mo - obviously, with 3 days away coming up, all this is going to change Wink

Mitchy1nge · 12/07/2013 09:37

well done! I went for my run just before 6 but my body was all 'fuck OFF I am technically ASLEEP, we can walk as fast as you like but no running' I wonder if it would prefer one of the insanity workouts instead? It doesn't seem to miss then yet Grin

stowsettler · 12/07/2013 11:11

Good work for getting up though Mitchy! You have the application if not the will!!

Reastie · 12/07/2013 16:20

Just popping on to say off on hols tomorrow. Used today as my day off for the week (although really I have another workout to go until I get there...)

stow 6am?! that's seriously impressive, hope the feel good lasted all day.

stowsettler · 12/07/2013 22:18

Have fun Reastie I suspect 6am, and Plyometric Cardio Circuit will pass me by tomorrow (bit pissed)!!

Mitchy1nge · 14/07/2013 12:39

have a great holiday reastie :)

where is everyone else? I'm restarting month one of insanity tomorrow - maybe alternate with running days so three of each, easy on the jumping?

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 12:44

Hi everyone.

Can I join the thread please. I am starting tomorrow, I tried a couple of months back, got 4 weeks in and gave up.

I am determined to stick it out this time although my very unsupportive dh reckons I'll never manage.

I need a daily kick up the bum if possible Grin

Mitchy1nge · 14/07/2013 13:31

ah hello! Did you give up during recovery week? I'm thinking about training for a 10k so my excuse was to prioritise that, something was mutilating my knees and it doesn't seem to be the running (although is barely 12k a week) - anyway am doing insanity a bit less aggressively this time. Did you do week five or try any of the week six and onward workouts?

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 13:38

I didn't try week 5 at all, I saw 'recovery week' and took it a bit too literally, I skipped one day then didn't think it would matter if I skipped another, then told myself I'd start month 2 next week and got out of the habit.

I found I was so much fitter after about week 3 so I really wish I carried on.

I'm not going to weigh myself but I will take measurements again and hopefully stick at it this time.

Mitchy1nge · 14/07/2013 13:48

you can do it!

I am quite excited about starting again, I love what it has done so far (a few kg of blubber gone and some lovely muscles showing instead) but I am really all or nothing so just need to moderate myself a bit.

it is a bit warm for it at the moment though Confused

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 13:52

I can't believe you are going for it a second time (or have you done it more than once).

I reckon I have a couple of stone to lose really, but I just want to tone up and feel fitter more than anything else.

Do you find it better doing the dvds in the morning or night?

Mitchy1nge · 14/07/2013 14:14

toning up usually means losing fat and or building muscle doesn't it? (I think, always get confused about that)

no I only got a day or two into month two and hit a massive mental block, what I really want is to get through it and do the asylum which is in my house and patiently waiting for me to finish insanity!

mornings definitely, I'm half dead by the evening, I can walk/jog/ride but not cope with insanity at that time - how about you?

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 14:56

I'd be happy to either lose fat or build muscle I'm abit like a jelly atm Grin

I find mornings easier really, dh is here to look after my youngest dd, but he sits and laughs at me which is pretty offputting, he works afternoons/evenings but by then the rest of the kids are home from school and are just as bad with the laughing.

Do you follow the diet plan too?

Mitchy1nge · 14/07/2013 17:04

I'm sort of loosely following the one that came with the asylum, it's similar but (for me) easier to understand - it means eating constantly (every two hours) which is harder than it sounds Shock are you on MFP?

why does he watch you and laugh, is he fat? He could make himself useful elsewhere surely? Or help you count the fit test? I could cope with an audience who correct my form or join in but not if they going to be twats

yztj · 14/07/2013 17:47

I always do insanity first thing in the morning b4 the school run. It sort of sets me up for the day. Any later & i'd find excuses not to do it!
I try to follow the mealplan but to the letter.

Sorry meant to say not to the letter. MFP has helped with calorie counting. I Try to include complex carbs & protein in each meal.
My DH has weight to lose too. He is doing a wigerd hybrid of slim fast & not eating diet. He has lost 1/2 stone whereas my scales have not moved. I can c & feel muscle but wish I had taken photos before I started so I could c if any progress has been made. Taking measurement is such a gd idea.
DH walks in & makes comments about my thighs getting big like beyonces & my calfs r enormous but I just ignore him & know that if I carry on I will get the body I want & deserve.
It took a long time to get this size so it won't disappear in 3 wks!!

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 18:17

He quite recently changed jobs so he does very physical work and lost a load of weight without really trying. I'm still suffering the after effects of having 4 children and working nightshifts so my metabolism has gone to pot and I am too afraid to go to the gym. He finds it funny that I have to make a huge effort and he more or less strolled into work and lost a load of weight. I think he prefers me 'bigger' so he isn't being very encouraging really.

I don't think I am massively overweight really, I'm about a 14/16 probably more towards a 16 atm, but I am pretty unfit and always find some excuse to put it all off another day. I'd like to get to a size 12 (well I would like to be a 10 but realistically I think a 12 should be my aim).

I have got the MFP app downloaded but I haven't really looked at it yet. I might actually get up at half five in the morning and get it done before the rest of the household wake up. Will probably be easier than trying to get a free 45 mins during the day.

Is eating every 2 hours to sort your metabolism out?

Reastie · 14/07/2013 18:22

hello, greetings from my holiday Grin and hello myname .

Angry at all of these 'D' Hs making comments/heckling. I got my DH to do the fit test with me this morning Grin . He's pretty good about not making comments but I put on alot of weight during pg/bfing (over 5 stone Blush ) and he pretty much physically ignored me, which led to a vicious cycle of me hating myself/needing some confidence/feeling worse about myself/not caring as I looked so awful and so eating. I'm finally back and infact lower than my immediate pre preg weight but I'd like to be a healthy BMI (have got just under a stone to get there) and want to get fitter that was really dull wasn't it .

yztj take photos now, quick! That way you can compare now to the end of the 60 days. And don't let DH get you down, slow off is the best way to make it stay off IMO.

myname I'd like to see your DH give insanity a go - bet he wouldn't be laughing then Wink

Having a fab holiday but not so great on the diet front......

Reastie · 14/07/2013 18:23

xpost - myname if you want to friend me on MFP Im reastie1

mynameisslimshady · 14/07/2013 19:27

Thanks, I have just had a look and I don't know how to add people using usernames, I can only see how to do it from phone or facebook, mine is stayawayfromkfc if anyone would like to add me.

I'm going to take the dreaded photos and do my measurements later on tonight before I start tomorrow.
