That'll.teach me to write without checking post numbers first! Sorry for the failure to link...

I keep hearing about the hairy dieters, who are they? I am an expat in the USA so we have different crazes.

crazypaving · 07/03/2013 16:38

Sophia are you bfing? I'd be starving if that was all I ate Sad

snacks are creeping in. must stay strong! argh. I'm hungry!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2013 18:04

No, I am FFing.

I am looking forward to my tea I must say.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2013 18:05

Let me see if I can do a link. Bear with.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/03/2013 18:08

Hairy Dieters here you go, the recipes really are good and tasty.

Iheartpasties · 08/03/2013 04:02

I got the hairy dieters book but I haven't made anything from it yet. DH put the book away in our spare room and then it's just been forgotten about, thanks dh! I sometimes think that if he had a brain he'd be dangerous.

Crazy - you made me laugh with the eating out of home not counting, it almost made me want to step outside to scoff, surely being outside the front door means it doesn't count! right??!

I have done a fair bit of walking and what not this morning, but have also had a coke and a muffin. Not great. I will try and have a healthy dinner and no snacks. we'll see.

I had a chicken wrap with home made avocado salsa for lunch so that's a step in the right direction.

blackcurrants · 08/03/2013 09:25

Thanks for the link! Fell off the wagon yesterday, but having been diagnosed with breast thrush, I must cut out sugar and booze for at least a week, so that will help. When it's sugar I just can't stop atm, so maybe if I.don't start....

crazypaving · 08/03/2013 12:23

pasties Grin yeah especially if it's raining. eating doughnuts outside your front door in the rain is a. a really good look for the neighbours and b. counts as negative calories cos it's so mad!! Wink

blackcurrants there's definitely something in that sugar thing. if I don't have any at all it's not too bad, but as soon as I get my first taste I go a bit bonkers and start cramming it madly in my mouth. good luck getting rid of the thrush, poor you Sad

I've been better today, but it's only midday. and it's been a long, rainy, screamy morning...sigh. the chocolate is calling loudly.

DyeInTheEar · 08/03/2013 22:44

Weigh in tomorrow........ hoping I've got below 11st. It'll be a huge boost to me.

There's been no treats, no dairy... but a bit of booze and very little exercise.... keep reminding myself if I feel tempted that I've got to get to my target weight at some point so it may as well be sooner rather than later.....

Iheartpasties · 09/03/2013 00:08

Breast thrush sounds awful - poor you blackcurrants.

dyeintheear - true true, I know what you mean, I keep sort of letting myself off when I'm eating crap because I think 'oh well. i'll loose it eventually!'

crazy - arf!!

I weighed myself today - 67.1 kg. I'm not sure what I was last time I weighed myself, my laptop died and I had it saved on there!? I will try and work it out from this thread.

Iheartpasties · 09/03/2013 00:26

I just figured it out and I lost 100g in 2 weeks!! Surely that's the equivalent of a fart??! Oh well.

blackcurrants · 09/03/2013 02:02

Ach, DS2 is ill (properly ill, we went from the doctor's to the hospital/specialist to the pharmacist and now we're home with lots of drugs and a treatment plan. I thought he was a bit screamy and grumpy this morning, thank goodness I checked his temperature!

It's been a long day, it's involved quite a lot of stress and a chocolate croissant and a chocolate bar and some chips. Hmm. anyone spot a trigger? Still I'm going to have a hot bath and an early night and hope DS2 isn't too screamy and puky all night long, poor little boy.
Some days are easier than others! But tomorrow I will play out side with DS1, and we'll eat real meals, and things will improve, I'm sure.

Iheartpasties · 09/03/2013 10:23

you poor LO black currants. I would have been the same as you - stuffing my face due to stress. Blush

onwards and upwards.

DyeInTheEar · 09/03/2013 12:21

I wonder if I should stop doing Saturday weigh in. I can ruin my weekend if I feel down about not losing enough... so daft.... that's where this thread has been my saviour and cheered me up. Iheartpasties arf at your fart!

Anyway - I'm 11 stone. I've got a stone and half to go. I think I've lost a stone and a half since giving birth. If I include baby and the pregnancy offal I've lost 2 and half stone as was about 13 and a half when I was in labour.... but I don't think including my 10lb10oz baby as weight loss is really allowed...!

BF finally seems to be helping but I really have to watch every single thing I let myself eat..Here's to a week which will take me into the 10 stone zone.

Happy Mothering Sunday all of you. Or as my eldest DS says "Mother & Son day"

blackcurrants · 09/03/2013 20:05

Dye oh god not at the weekend! I'm not strong enough! Tuesday works well for me because I've had time to sort of find my feet again after the weekend, when I invariably eat rather badly due to rushing around, baking with DS1, etc. Nah, it's got to be a Tuesday weigh-in for me, that way I have lots of time to make it right again if I fall off the wagon on the weekend! :)

crazypaving · 10/03/2013 09:12

pasties Grin at fart Grin

dye loving mother and son day! that's so sweet!

I'm blundering through ww with my new too-many-points allowance. just trying to undereat slightly every day (with the odd weekend splurge) I had been heavily hinting to dh that I wanted a massage for mother's day and he's fecking well got me an amazing box of chocolates. ffs he knows I'm on a diet Sad well he can sod off if he thinks he's getting any Grin

happy mother's day all! where does that stupid apostrophe go...

Sophiathesnowfairy · 10/03/2013 16:26

I put on 3lbs in NI Sad.

I have to be really really really good this week.

crazypaving · 11/03/2013 09:01

I ate the whole box of chocolates in one day.

salad and water for me until Thursday.....

projectbabyweight · 12/03/2013 11:14

I'm still here! (and on the stats thread) Haven't written very often, it gets a bit insane doing the toddler + baby thing. Have averaged about half a pound loss per week, it's all I can manage. Still, that's 7lbs since I started at the New Year. 21 to go, will prob take me till the summer, oh well.

Blackcurrants - I think I remember you on MN from a couple of years ago, you always seemed to write what I was thinking. Congrats on the ds2, sorry he's poorly, and no I'm honestly not a stalker Grin

blackcurrants · 12/03/2013 12:42

Ooooh having a MN stalker would go straight to my head Grin hello!

Going to weigh myself this morning, though can't at present as I am lying in bed next to a sleeping baby, and he is almost certainly my last baby, so I have to watch him sleep for a bit longer Wink

NanoNinja · 12/03/2013 20:09

I'm still here too. Still clinging onto ww, but has all fallen apart over the past week due to being back at parents. Back t home on thurs and will weigh in next week. God, I'm sick of snow and cold weather....

utopian99 · 13/03/2013 07:22

Failed to weigh in for a while but tried in the middle of the night on feeds last night and was 10st flat, so hoping I'm finally back on track from a few weeks ago. It's amazing how long it takes. Sad

Have started walking down and back from my pramactive class, which burns extra. Am much better at doing more exercise rather than cutting out food, although I suspect the latter has a faster effect..

utopian99 · 13/03/2013 07:26

project what's the toddler + baby thing like? We're hoping to start ttc dc2 when ds is 6 months so imagine we'll be in the same boat..

INeedThatForkOff · 13/03/2013 08:00

Argh. I'm really struggling. Have lost half a stone since new year and that's it. Really tired with never sleeping DCs and just can't find the motivation. Somebody be stern with me, I'm making myself miserable.

projectbabyweight · 13/03/2013 09:33

INeed - prepare for some loud, bright, American motivation www.slimissimple.org

utopian99 - it's "great" Grin I'd say a lot depends on the age of the toddler. Ds1 was 2.2 with ds2 arrived, and I think it's a bit easier when the older one's at least old enough to play by themselves for a few minutes. However, a smaller gap means the older one won't remember life without the baby, and may be less jealous.

As long as there are no health issues, colic etc. then the second baby is miles easier than the first - no anxiety, no having to adjust to being a mum and having your freedom taken away, like there was the first time.

In terms of weight loss, it's tricky not to eat for energy when you're tired, or for comfort when they're both screaming, also less chance of exercise (except pushing a double buggy). So I fully recommend trying to get back to your starting weight between babies. Not that I did Blush
