Will post the race list later on computer.

Well done sticky and debi

stickyLFDTfingers · 14/01/2012 22:18

debi well done, especially good to hear you got a pb without your shins playing you up.

rhet you have to organise the park run because you'd love the genius simplicity of it (from the user's point of view). Register once, print off the little barcode and you can do any park run anywhere in the world, nothing more needed, just turn up.

Back on the computer to feed in another two weeks' worth of runs into the garmin. I feel so much more organised and like a Proper Runner with it :)

DebiTheScot · 14/01/2012 23:01

who was it who did the mn haircut the other week? I'm very tempted to try it but don't know if I'm brave enough and I think I'd have to do it in 2 ponytails to get it all (if I put it all up at the front the short bits from the back don't reach) and am worried if I do that I'll end up with 2 different lengths in my hair.

AngeChica · 15/01/2012 10:27

good morning. Plan to do a HM distance today. DH will drop me somewhere to run home. Just got to take DS to a birthday party first, which gives a chance for ice to melt a bit.

stickyLFDTfingers · 15/01/2012 11:08

good luck ange, hope you have a good run - amazingly white out today - should mean a lot less mud about at any rate.

You should nab a bit of birthday cake to eat half way round - especially if it's for smarties on it Wink

sfxmum · 15/01/2012 11:53

ange enjoy

seems parkruns are not made equal, my nearest is flat and on grass, occasionally quite muddy but definitely no hills

orangeLFDThead · 15/01/2012 19:07

My parkrun quite hilly.
Combination of loads of thai curry, cheesecake, lots of wine and really bad pmt (hence the loads of food) I'm thinking my planned intervals tomorrow might be a bit sluggish.

ibbydibby · 16/01/2012 09:15

Just popping in to see what I have missed - bit quiet around here though!

Orange your birthday pressies sound lovely.

Parkrun on Saturday, 6 seconds short of my PB. Well done sticky and Debi on your PBs. Was cold, and I felt that initially I just could not get my breathing right. Rest of weekend has been spent celebrating DSIS significant birthday - involving party, Sunday lunch, entertaining my mum etc etc. No time at all for MNing.

My parkrun flat as a pancake, but oh the corners. There are 21 of them and tis a bit of a pain. (There used to be about 18 but course has been temporarily diverted)

peachsmuggler · 16/01/2012 09:50

Are you on fb ibby? Lots of chat going on there! You need to get a set of wheels fitted for those corners! Parties sound fun!

orange, am rather jealous of your dinner, though not of you doing intervals! Let us know how they go!

ibbydibby · 16/01/2012 10:03

peach am on FB but don't think am in secret runners club! Good idea about wheels. Party weekend was fun but knackered now!

peachsmuggler · 16/01/2012 10:52

Shall I add you ibby? do you want to pm your name?

orangeLFDThead · 16/01/2012 11:13

Intervals went great actually, quite pleased Smile. Then went straight after to have my blood test and she couldn't get any blood out. She said it was because I was dehydrated. But in my defence my veins are a bugger and they often have more trouble getting blood than what she did today. Anyhow she got some in the end.
peach dinner was one of the many perks of having a thai dsil.

ibbydibby · 16/01/2012 12:43

thanks peach am a bit confused as am (I think) already friends with on FB - am SS, you are RS?

JustOneMinute · 16/01/2012 14:30

Lovely 6m tempo run this morning while DS2 at preschool. icey and cold but gloriously sunny, took a while to pursuade myself it was a good think to get out and just do it but as usual as soon as I am out loved it.

Well done ibby and debi on your park run times wow and glad the ntervals went well orange

Dumb question re HRMs I was planning to use the garmin strap one but errr where do you all put it? Can see how it is easy to run with if you are a bloke. Do you tuck it under your running bra or put it just underneath....can't work it out which would be best and comfiest.

JustOneMinute · 16/01/2012 14:31

Sorry typos.. hard to type with a snoozing DS2 on me :)

cestlavie · 16/01/2012 14:36

Hiya fanny, yep, sure... seems like FB is where it's all happening! Will PM you my name if that's okay?

Well done on your park runs ibby and debi. 'Twas lovely indeed this morning justoneminute though bloody cold at 7am - did 6 miles and couldn't feel my toes between about mile 1 and 3!

LittleChiefRunnyCustard · 16/01/2012 14:51

JustOneMinute I tuck mine just under the edge of my bra (a Freya underwired one) and it seems to work fine with no chafing or compromise on support.

fannybanjo · 16/01/2012 16:37

cest apologies for sounding like a knob but seen as you are a bloke - if you can do it through anyone else then that'd be better for me! Can't face the questions from DH...

stickyLFDTfingers · 16/01/2012 16:42

hello - just came to report that I ran 20 miles today... I told pretty much everyone at the school gates too. It'll be on the news tonight.

fanny, cest if it gets you out of a pickle I can send a PM.

jeez I'm an absolute idiot. Have reported myself....

sfxmum · 16/01/2012 17:10

hello all
I feel like a bad mother neglecting MN for FB

did a night run with a friend on Saturday, 8K according to her, it was a lot of fun as we did a fair bit of it on the dark towpaths wearing headlamps, must do it again soon, felt amazing

today easy 4 miles but I need to start the 10K improver's plan as otherwise will still be a bad time, good to see everyone is moving along and more joining in

sfxmum · 16/01/2012 17:11

sticky did you use your own name? Grin I do similar stuff on a regular basis and maintain a friendly email exchange with assorted people at MN HQ Blush

cestlavie · 16/01/2012 18:41

Haha, no prob fanny.

Yep, okay if I PM you sticky? Good on the 20 miles today by the way - that's a good distance, really getting into properly knackered territory when you get to 20+ miles.

Run sounds fantastic sfx - running with a head torch on towpaths! Fun!

fishie · 16/01/2012 19:23

i can only dream of 20miles, that is such an achievement it should be on the news!

Accident outside my house tonight just as I was coming back from run - 2 cars and a bicycle resulted in four fire engines two ambulances six police cars and a load of paramedics. I think nobody seriously hurt but someone had to be cut out of their car, it is in pieces all over the place and the bike is utterly mangled with its poor red light flashing. Its an A road but meant to be 30mph limit, which nobody ever sticks to. I might have another go at persuading council to put up a camera. I really hate crossing it at start of run and just to add further joy the common opposite has been infested by teenage boys on mini trail motorbikes and I'm sure there's going to be a terrible accident, they don't wear helmets, have lights or care about anything really. And I can see that horrible mittal olympic tower from my window. Joys of E London!
