Will post the race list later on computer.

hello lovely runners

rhet love the buggy, the only issue with those things is that you must take care with the wheels and punctures, a few friends have become stranded for lack of pump/ puncture kit

hope everyone is well and enjoying assorted activities

I went see my GP this morning (dh made me do it as I have a GP phobia) and apparently I have a nasty shoulder/ neck injury, it is affecting my face, will need x-ray to rule out assorted issues but she reckons plenty of physio work will be necessary, and can I please get my arse to her when the niggles start an not 6months later Blush
did gym afterwards trainer, helped protect injury

sorry me thing, will catch up

Some great holiday ideas out there... thanks all! Love Southwold but something weird happens to time when you drive there. It takes about 30 minutes to drive the first 50 miles and 2.5 hours to drive the remaining 5 miles. 'Tis almost Dr Who-esque in it's bizarreness. Love Martinhal as well shredme but we're thinking about trying something 'different' this year (i.e. not a child friendly place in the Med). Definitely doing Featherdown Farms again as well - loved that!

You will get staggeringly fit with your buggy rhet. When I push DD to nursery it absolutely kills me not being able to use your arms.

Like the MRI dye idea N4NNY. If it works do let us know - bet about half of us are mad enough to give it a try if it makes you faster.... If Runners World said pouring petrol over cereal in the morning took half a minute of your mile times I'd be out on the road siphoning car fuel before you could blink. On same note, don't worry about going to sleep dreaming about races and split times and hill runs fanny. It's, er, entirely normal.

Very funny all the addicted Garmin people. Imagine if there was a universal Garmin bug in the software which one day wiped all the data on the device and your computer whilst you were in the middle of a race Shock Wink

cestlavie · 12/01/2012 15:40

Oh, hope you get injury sorted sfx and well done to your DH in making you get down to the doctor!

peachsmuggler · 12/01/2012 15:41

Oh dear sfx, what a pain. Hope it's easily sortable. How is it when you run?

Am a bit Envy of your pram Rhet, it will be great!

Am getting very confused by what I've posted here and what's on fb. Maybe will get a spreadsheet to keep track...Grin

Wheelybug · 12/01/2012 15:45

Well done on facing the GP sfx. I'm a bit like that too, I think as a result of spending a lot of time at DRs as a child (legitimately). I also worry about wasting their time too. And it annoys me having to wait in waiting room too long (not a criticism of gps by the way, as can't be helped but I am just impatient. )

Nice buggy rhet!

Had a good look at cottages in southwold yesterday as I can't pin DH down on a summer destination. Any recommended areas or not recommended areas ?

I now a physio appointment for the
Morning so will hopefully get some
Idea of whether or not Brighton is likely or
Not. And have arnica too orange.

Wheelybug · 12/01/2012 15:47

How did DH's interview go sfx ?

On the 'addicted to garmin' subject some
Of you may remember mine breaking
Down a week before GSR and having to get a new one posted to my MIL so I had it for the run....

sfxmum · 12/01/2012 15:49

not too bad with running peach I just have to be careful with head shoulder tummy position, in effect it makes me aim for good posture, but I need to continually remind myself to relax the shoulders and keep the arms near the body and the head looking straight ahead
dh booked the appointment while I was still asleep and gave me no time to think between getting dd up and ready for school, drop off and surgery, the bastard, then he left for a long run before I got up, unfortunately that and frog-marching me to the surgery is the only way to get me there Blush

fannybanjo · 12/01/2012 15:50

bonkers even when I am 85, I will always be a string lover and nowt else will cover these arse cheeks. I have quite a sticky out arse and proper knickers ride up it.

cest how's running going? Is it back on track?

rhet did you see my post on FB re working out gradient of Jill..? If I posted my Garmin stats could you work out a hill for me? You know, when you've finished filing your nails like... WinkGrin

peach when you planning on rubbing next?

sfxmum · 12/01/2012 15:51

but I love my GP she is so great no nonsense woman and very funny, we agreed on a strategy for the near future.

wheely he like the interview, thanks for asking, and thinks he did well, there are 5 others going for the job, it may be decided on rates we shall see, it would be ideal as it is quite near home, but if not this one then something else will come along

peachsmuggler · 12/01/2012 16:09

fanny, thinkni will be rubbing this weekend. Possibility of going tommorrow morning while DD1 at playgroup if DD2 is settled enough but have a lot of life admin to sort (passports etc) so we shall see. Also need to hand wash and dry bra.

peachsmuggler · 12/01/2012 16:11

Fingers crossed for your DH, sfx.

DD2 asleep in pram. I should be cleaning the bathroom, but am eating Ritz crackers and hummus, while MNing Grin

cestlavie · 12/01/2012 16:20

Running and work affected a little this week by DD, nursery, fishbone and A&E related incident over last couple of days fanny (all fine now) - am hoping to get out for 11 miles first thing tomorrow. Shin muscles hurt last weekend though so need to be careful not to enjoy the running too much and do too much too fast.

Sounds like you're getting back into running peaches!

Wheely if you fancied something different, had a great time on Featherdown Farms - think there is one out in Norfolk/ Suffolk way as well?

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 16:21

fanny I think that whoever Jill is might be a little pissed off if I (of all people!) start calculating her gradients Wink

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 16:25

just did 6 x 400 intervals with 90 sec recoveries - paces were 3 @ 7.44m/m, 2 @ 7.26m/m and [email protected] m/m - it was ok, actually - I am aiming to get to just under 9m/m for race pace

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 16:40

ha I know those 'intervals' are almost easy pace for lots of you - but I find running at those speeds on a treadmill quite scary - I always think that I am going to fly off

RunnersTipple · 12/01/2012 17:00

I for one am impressed at those speeds rhet and dream of getting to sub 10m/m pace for HM, tbh I'd be happy with 10.45 in March, as I did 11.01m/m in September. Well done you!

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 17:04

runnerstipple thanks - I am pretty pleased with them too. I love your username - it's just so witty, am a bit Envy that I didn't think of it myself

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 17:06

if I could get to that pace it would mean fulfilling all my goals for times this year

peachsmuggler · 12/01/2012 17:33

To me those are fast intervals too Rhet! Well done. Do you do them in the park?

futurity · 12/01/2012 17:40

That's amazing rhet ! Very impressive and more than a bit Envy

rhetorician · 12/01/2012 17:45

no, on treadmill, so they are slightly misleading...

RunnersTipple · 12/01/2012 18:07

aww, thanks rhet Blush and don't put yourself down, treadmill or no treadmill those are great times.

peachsmuggler · 12/01/2012 18:08

Very good going!

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 12/01/2012 18:32

Featherdown Farms sounds nice ..... have just realised that the "big cat" spotted in Gloucestershire is at the National Trust place next to the campsite we stayed in last year - eek!

fishie · 12/01/2012 20:40

my you are all So fast. I did a festive bday 16k at 6min pk which I think is about 10mm?? And that was awesomely quck for me. Is the 110 garmin the super one you've all got? that bargain does look like it has my name on it...

and I entered a RACE! 5m in Olympic Park 31 march.

Vivo minimal running shoes are 25% off till 20th BAREFOOTISBEST code. The trail ones have the best grip of any shoe I've ever tried and with enormous dog dragging me about in mud when he sees a squirrel I really need it.
